Just do it man. Ask her out, if she says no, it's her loss. It's you who will let things get weird, as long as you don't get mad at her if she says no, things will be fine.

I think the rewards out weigh the risks.

If you succeed in getting her out, you will eventually end up with some pussy.
If you fail, you will feel bad for 3 days then start thinking of a plot to pick up some other chick.

I hope that puts things into perspective
