Thumbs down

Tiesto doesn't deserve the No. 1 this year, his set has been mostly to please everyone rather than the magical trance journey with his own unique personal touch that got him to the top.

I am neither here nor there. I am neither gone nor away. For I am no where but in your imagination.

Just delete all your cookies in your internet options! Then you can submit another. Makes you wonder if one is paying someone else to sit at the computer all day, delete the cookie after every voting and do it over with the same name???

peace.

I've got a feeling that James Zabiela is going to make one of the biggest jumps is not the biggest with the exception of Darren Emerson ever since Underwater flooded the airwaves. My vote:

1. Darren Emerson
2. Paul Van Dyk
3. James Zabiela
4. Erick Morillo
5. Plump Dj's

I guess maybe there's not enough trance DJs there... but I have a feeling PvD will win it this time.
Possibly armin... "maybe tiesto" but not likely.

I'm seeing votes for Push (he does dj under the name M.I.K.E.), Leama & Moor

it's because of people like you THAT CAN'T DISTINGUISH THE MOST BASIC DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRODUCING AND DJ'ING that we see such an unfair table everytime. VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE DJ'S NOT FAVOURITE PRODUCERS.

PRODUCERS = MAKING THE TRACKS WITH PRODUCING SOFTWARE/HARDWARE
DJ'S = MIXING THE TRACKS PRODUCED PREVIOUSLY TOGETHER WITH TURNTABLES

Also, less important, why give higher positions to dj/producers because they made a few tunes this year or something? this poll is ONLY ABOUT DJ SKILLS

I'm sorry for the caps and the general rant, but there are people that seem to never understand this. It pisses me off as it biases the whole vote. As if it wasn't already biased by the fact people tend to vote on the most popular ones.

do you run DJmag? i never read anything that said: "Vote for the best Dj, dont vote production wise." ...i believe to be a successfull DJ you need both skills, production and DJing..

Posted by Vandit56 on Sep-01-2003 05:09:

Dj mag top 100.

i would have to vote these three

1. PVD
2. John askew
3. nu nrg

Those 3 I feel Produced/Remixed tracks this year beautifully and amazingly PVD has been on fire this year and so has john askew they keep firing them out there, thats my opinion.

Posted by infinity HiGH on Sep-02-2003 00:43:

Tiesto will probably win cause of his ass getting so commercial and cuz of stupid popularity stints like Tiesto in Concert (never knew dj'ing was a concert now). It's funny that DJ's like Sasha, Diggers or PvD don't have to do such massive commercial stunts to gain popularity.

These are my votes

1. Sasha
2. Steve Lawler
3. Orkidea
4. Nick Warren
5. Doubledecker

Originally I wasn't going to vote for Sasha for number 1; but after last night, I think he deserves it.

Dj Skills? Please. This isn't the DMC. This is a popularity vote, and intended as such, to see who is the most popular dj. I think production should absolutely have a part in a person's decision. Especially if that djs production in a certain year earns your respect. Djs that produce on average have more and/or more adamant fans and will place higher on the poll. Nothing wrong with that. Every dj in the top 100 should have unprecedent mixing skills anyway (of course this isn't necessarily true), so this usually takes a back seat. Not saying this is right, but what can you do. Give me a dj that is technically flawless but doesn't produce, against say Ferry, and i'll enjoy Corsten more as he clumsily mixes into his brand new stormer. Production adds another dimension to a persons djing. Its an additional tool in a persons bag that can make them a better more enjoyable dj.

ok, maybe i over-reacted there, people have the right to their opinions. but still is retarded to see darude on the list or to see people voting for producers that doesn't dj. (Leama & Moor? )

BT does dj, been doing so for years now. Not so well at it IMO but never the less.
