I'd be more impressed if i could see yo ucome up w/ a halfway decent argument on the topic at hand..but that's right, you don't have the 'time or inclinations' to do that...

Dude people are (or were) attacking you on your intelligence in regards to what the TOPIC is, not what education you have had formally etc. You took it the wrong way (again).

come on..you don't really drive a zamoboni. why don't you post a pic!

Dude. Nobody sees anything wrong with your opinion, it's just the way in which you're saying it. Isn't it enough to just say "e isn't for me, I've tried it sure but I don't think it's something I'd do any further" and leave it at that? Instead of just saying exactly that and then supporting with no real evidence to back up your claim? As for Rj saying what he did, it's the way you came across (as Sarah had pointed out), makes you look like you whine constantly because you don't agree with something. Nobody likes a whiner...

Since when does arguing/debating translate into whining? Maybe it's because my opinion is a truth that certain people don't want to hear?

a pic of what? I don't love my job that much that I would actually go out and take a picture of myself on my work vehicle. Laugh all you want, but I get paid almost 18 dollars an hour (depending on afternoon or weekend or midnight shifts) to flood the ice at hockey rinks, take ammonia compressor readings every two hours and be the janitor boy. it's the ideal student job, if you ask me.

you don't seem to be hearing anything that anyone is saying. I am not promoting drug use. i am howver promoting well-researched arguments. since you have so much skill w/ essay writing you must know that yor statements are weak and don't offer any support. i respect ppl who's opions are different from mine, but they must support them suffieciently.

so you really think you have offered any support for your opinons?

but my opinion is that I don't do those drugs because 1) it can kill you, even if you're responsible and 2) I would never encourage anyone to do those drugs and finally 3) people who do those drugs too often have issues

That's basically all I've been saying this whole time.

I don't understand how driving a zamboni part time and making more than enough money to pay my own tuition every year and having enough left over for other things is funny. Tell me.....what better paying jobs can a student realistically hope to have during the school year?

1) It can kill you, even if you're responsible.

Sure but the chances of that are unlikely. THAT is what people here are saying and you just don't seem to be hearing it...

dude E in my opinion sucks ass

I'm into my vodka, ciggs, occasional Mushroom, and used to practically inhale special K and coke like it was nose candy.

some people do not get addicted like me =]

but i quit all drugs other then vodka and ciggs i do in small amounts when tense or bored....

Holy fuck. For the last time (maybe), it's not what you say, it's how you say it.

Remember the Umek thread? I could have respected your opinion if you argued that rationally.

unlikely, maybe, but still risky and that's why I don't do them.

Life is FULL of risks. You're taking one by smoking. That argument does not fly because of that.

I'm actually not homophobic at all....I support gay marriages and I support gay rights. I seem to remember many of you being supporters of the Conservative party, while I myself am very liberal minded when it comes to social issues (save immigration and the death penalty and military spending).

Using the word FAG was an error on my part and I believe I corrected myself.

yes, but I can still quit smoking before i die of cancer, but I could go out and do a few pills and die on one of those occaisions. That is why I see it as different.

that's finre if you don;'t want to do drugs. i'm ceratinly not suggesting that you do.

it can kill you if are resposbilble. so can many other things. you are more at risk going fishing or taking advil, but if you don't want to do it (or go fishing or take advil) that is your choice and only yours alone.

i would never encourage anyone to do them either, but not b/c of any perceived physical danger. that is a personal choice that ppl make for themselves. howvere, i think it's irresponsible to misinform and overexagerate about the effects of teh drug.

and fianlly. a lot fo ppl are messed up and have issues. soem do drugs and some don't. i have studied drug use among sifferent groups in sociology, drug use doesn;t not = messed up/'issues'

did yo read erika's post?

7 in a million. sure it's a risk, but crossing the street is higher. and if you somehow accidently got something flamable on yourself and lit a smoke you could die much faster. it's a risk, but a small one, just like taking mdma.

who conducted those studies by the way? I'm skeptical of information on the subject at both ends of the debate.
