Definetly agree, it's true what Martin Brundle was saying about Ferrari; it's not just a fast car with a fast driver, they make sure they never really get stuck in traffic. The pit-stops are planned with such foresight (and executed so well) that Michael always has the space to go flat out when he needs it.

Ferrari have the complete package and McLaren are going to have to do a lot more than just make a good car if they're going to compete.

Very good race though, a lot of fights going on all the way down the field, it's always exciting to see that. I always wonder why people think you can't see good racing unless the cars in question are fighting for first place.

One of the more exciting races this season, good to see everyone go at it esp McLaren putting up a fight with ferrari and the lower teams Sauber and Jaguar making an effort to get to the high spots. Although it was Kimi's race imo, it was brilliant to see the young gun giving schuey a run for his money (bit rusty on a few laps). This race shows how good F1 can be if everyone puts 100% dedication. Because to me it looks like some drivers are there for money (Ralf Schu, Trulli:rolleyes Anyway, great race wish to see more like this in rest of season looking forward heaps now!

Schumacher pole for Hockenheim tonight, but then a surprise - Montoya second!

The revised McLarens are doing fantastically, fourth and fifth, outqualifying both Renaults.

You know how dominant Schumacher is when the Formula 1 website says he has won in Germany ONLY twice!

Pizzonia has replaced Gene in the second Williams, one of the more curious moves in F1 recently, imo Pizzonia is terrible, Gene is much better

Posted by DJGolf on Jul-25-2004 04:50:

Gene did nothing for them. Ralph was in pit today so can he drive next time?

entertaining GP today, lots of overtaking.. shame for Raikkonen, he was going great until the rear wing failure. driver of the day has to be Jenson Button though. he came from nowhere on the grid and a difficult first stint to second place

yep, that was so frustrating for him. i stopped watching at that point

Posted by TOR on Jul-25-2004 14:34:

hehe, you missed out on a great GP

Schumacher was gone, but there was plenty of action behind him all the way down to the finish.

Excellent race, best of the season so far I thought.

Excellent drive by Button, imagine what the result would've been if he'd not lost those 10 grid places... excellent drive by Alonson especially the start. Shame for Kimi, had a very good chance tho I doubt he would've got past Michael.

Posted by fcuk on Jul-26-2004 07:46:

Turned the race off after kimi's crash thought it would be boring to watch michael win again. But i'll give it another watch.

it's official now.. Webber signed to Williams

also, Fisichella is going to Renault.

exciting prospects for next year

Posted by fcuk on Jul-31-2004 06:31:

Very excited about Webber going to Williams, I really think this is his peaking time. Fisichella should do well with alonso in '05 I have high hopes for them. As for McLaren, finally getting rid of Mr. Coulthard is the smartest thing they've done. Even though two superstar drivers have the seats for the british team I feel they will struggle again.

Just announced

Button to drive for Williams in 2005

What the hell is Button thinking? ... since he is basically the hottest property in F1 right now apart from Schumacher and could go anywhere he wanted ... why go back to a team that's been getting their dumb ass kicked by BAR all season?

Posted by DJGolf on Aug-05-2004 23:52:

So Webber and Button will be William's Drivers of 2005?

maybe to bring the team up and prove himself a better racer

Posted by Trance Nutter on Aug-06-2004 08:22:

I thought I heardf Button say earlier in the season something along the lines of, "WHy would I want to go to a team that I'm beating at the moment?"

Just heard this on the news, and they say that BAR are going to court to prevent the move and to keep him at BAR.

On other silly season moves, Ryan Briscoe is going to be Toyota's full time test driver next year, and will be loaned to Minardi as a full time driver. That means two Australians driving F1 next year!

Posted by TOR on Aug-06-2004 19:54:

this is what i call a "silly season", hehe.. interesting stuff

i must admit that i was rather shocked by Jenson's return to Williams.. one would expect he'd stick to BAR, since he's going pretty well there and a well balanced team always put in better performances (cfr. Ferrari) than everchanging teams..

that said, Williams now has two excellent drivers for next year. let's hope they can provide a great car for them.

and to make things even more interesting, rumour now has it that Mike Hakkinen will replace Jenson at BAR next year

Posted by Trance Nutter on Aug-07-2004 13:03:

Hakkinen has retired!! He will not come back! This rumour had surfaced pretty much every year since he retired, and he has not come back yet, and continually says he will not.

My mate was a massive Hakkinen fan, he would love it if he came back, but I do not think he will return. It would be an excellent pick up for BAR, but I don't think it will happen. Ever.

Hungarian GP on tonight(my home country ) Ferrari are 1/2 on the grid BAR are 3&4. Should be interesting

Posted by Kinde on Aug-15-2004 13:01:

Fuuuck... Kimi's car breaks down once again. It's unbelievable that McLaren, with all their money, has the worst car when it comes to reliability..

Posted by Audio Beverage on Aug-15-2004 15:39:

Great result by Alonso(3rd) but Ferrari were just too good with an easy 1/2

On the other hand, Raikkonnen is officially the unluckiest guy in F1.

Posted by jon on Aug-15-2004 16:18:

its a shame in a way ferrari are so good, all Id like is to see one team offering more of a fight, bring on belgium spa though, i LOVE that circuit, I just hope that its raining over one part of it and the other part is totaly dry, that would make things very intresting!

Posted by TOR on Aug-15-2004 18:43:

^ well, the weather here has been quite unpredictable the last few days, and it doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon, so we may well be in for a strange race..

as for the Hungarian GP.. i missed it because i had to work this afternoon, but it looks like i haven't missed that much..

props to Ferrari, they are undoubtedly the best team at the moment, and i have nothing against them winning every GP, but we really need to see some tougher competition.
