Well at the risk of sounding simple i will summarize everything you have just said with one remark.

If you don't like it, DON'T GO!

Oh and for calling what i said about the fire marshall libel? ahahahah that's so reaching it's hurting... nice try there..

Posted by Creamfields on Mar-23-2004 01:26:

Whoaaaaah there DigiNut!!! After youuu telling me to shut up I will make sure that "it happens".....geez what a loser....

[QUOTE by DigiNut]:

"Good. Let me start off by saying that unless you've got some special information for us, the question of whether or not you work at the Guv is fully irrelevant and my opinion of your post would be the same either way."

You stupid idiot. Whenever someone makes a post supporting a club that you currently have an agenda against, the first thing that you do is start bashing the person acusing them of working for the club. So when Jay wants to cut all the bullshit aside and starts off by saying that yes, he does work there you tell him it's irrelevant??? You're a moron and that's what I think about your post so I'm not even going to bother and reply to every little argument that you just wasted your time on. Get a life.

Btw, nice work there with all the quotes and the nice structure of your message. Must have taken you forever. After your informative post I'm sure this threat is "saved" and we're back on the track.

Posted by Jayx1 on Mar-23-2004 01:30:

Yeah not much of that was worth replying to really. His attempt to look smart actually backfired here.

I could have said the sky was blue and the earth was round and he would have argued against me.

Regular Saturdays at Guv have the sketchiest crowd aside from CZ.

i'm whining ? nah.

So anyways, what if somebody does die from overcrowding ?

The whiny part wasnt directed at you but everyone in general.

What if somebody dies from ovecrowding? What if a car hits you as you're crossing the road? Now don't get me wrong, it's not the same thing but like I said before, it wasn't overcrowded at Guv for a long time and if you are at the wrong place at the wrong time shit happens. When you go to a large venue, no matter what the club's regulations are and no matter how safe they try to make it, you never know if some asshole does some stupid shit. That's the risk you take when you go to events like this. It's not the club's fault. It would be if it was overcrowed but for the last time IT WAS NOTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by DigiNut on Mar-23-2004 01:49:

Creamfields: Ad hominem attacks aren't going to take away from the validity of any of my points. And honestly, it's not really that hard to "structure" my messages - you should try doing it sometime. Also, your argument is entirely based on the fact that it hasn't been overcrowded for a while - the fallacy of that argument is that one time is too many, and could be fatal.

Jay: Well I'm glad you think I was just trying to look smart and that it backfired, but realistically I just blew most of your nonsensical arguments out of the water and I think most people here realize that.

Random insults - the mating call of the loser.

So let's hear it - what happens if somebody dies?

Posted by Jayx1 on Mar-23-2004 01:52:

the man on mars and osama comments were my replies to that unlikely scenerio...(of course u didnt get that)

as for what people think... well i will just leave that to the people to decide.

Personally i dont give a rats ass

alrite cool. so we all decide one night to take the risk by going to the Guv. anyways, so what'll happen if someone dies there from overcrowding?

I think that would only happen (god forbid) if something serious like a fire broke out. I can't really see someone getting trampled to the point of killing them on a special event night at Guv. I'm sure somebody would help them up or do something instead of walking all over them. :P
I don't really see a fire breaking out anyways - how could something like that happen? Unless someones hair caught on fire (one of my worries when I go there) I've been burned with enough cigarettes from other people.

The Fire Code is also a reply to that "unlikely scenario", as are most building code regulations in Toronto and most of the world. They are in place in order to prevent the possibility of small accidents turning into massive catastrophes.

overcrowding is horrible, nothings worse then some overgrown gorilla walking past you shirtless and getting his disgusting sweat on you on a packed danced floor.

However...

I've seen worse ... Cream @ Amesia, my goodness, HORRIBLE! and I payed 45Euro to get in for pete's sake..

Conclusion:

Guv aint so bad

I'm not bitching about this particular event, I'm bitching about the idiots that are just trolling in this thread attacking everyone who thinks it's dangerous to be packed into a room head-to-head, shoulder-to-shoulder, and you are included in that list of idiots. Nothing you've said in this thread makes any sense - it's just inane rambling "oh please don't hurt my Guvernment, it's such a fun place and I wanna keep going and I don't care if somebody could die!!"

And FYI, I've been to plenty of other ridiculously overpacked events at the Guv. It sounds like Ferry was worse than usual, but I have a feeling that a LARGE number of their special events are WAY over legal capacity.

I love you Diginut.
In an internet sort of way.

Posted by Waxen on Mar-23-2004 02:24:

Dunno

This is getting OLD! Argue/Flame all ya want.. it's not going to solve the issue here. I'm sure Room2dance is going to do whatever the hell he wants to do. I just don't want to get hurt All I know is that coming home w/ bruises, heat exaustion, a burnt out eyeball, singed armhairs, a swollen temple, and numb foot is not my idea of a good time.
The overcrowdedness isn't THAT bad on certain nights, but other nights it can be brutal. You kinda gotta take a chance and expect it to be full of people and grin and bear it. Room2dance can't get anywhere on his own! Firemarshals would need a ton of complaints from people (I'm assuming) in order to take any sort of action. So what's the point here? Like someone mentioned earlier - I don't think anything is going to happen unless something serious happens. And like someone else mentioned, when it comes to clubs it's all about the money honey.

OH - one more point. When I was in line for ferry (1:30am) I didn't get in until about 3:00 (skipped coat check too). They werent letting people in until people started to come out - so doesn't that prove that they are doing their job when it comes to not overcrowding the Guv?
