hmm.. apparently my definition of the term 'opinion' is different than yours.

Education is also a principal factor of how taste is molded.

i'm not too sure about that, since education focusses on the developement of the mind. and taste is not in the mind, it's in your heart (metaphorically speaking).

haha. But it's not my definition, it's the actual definition in the English language. That's what the word factually means. Check any dictionary. Could it be that English is not your first language?

Education definitely does influence music appreciation and the development of taste. That's why most universities have music appreciation courses. A person who has never been exposed to a particular style of music will most likely not be able to understand it at first listen. That's why many people get introduced to edm through the commercial side, and then eventually are introduced to the good stuff, which might even lead to other genres that are more complex.

someone must do something about uplifting trance as the majority sucks these days! i miss the older mind-blowing melodies...

Posted by sandstorm03 on Apr-23-2004 01:34:

yea, i agree. uplifting trance is good, if it gives you that fuzzy feeling inside, if it doesnt then its pointless.

Thats a really great theory and i happen to agree since it applies to me exactly. I was forced into listening to oakenfold sets (i liked the cheesy chart dance music at the time) and i liked the odd track in his sets, i then grew to love BT and it went from there... 5 years later and i'll listen to anything EDM, have a 2000 piece CD collection, DJ frequently, turned in an unnoficial remix that got played by ferry corsten on radio and now starting work for a major record label! it just shows how things grow on you!

wow Armind getting bashed? whats the point, i think he's doing great, plus he's a down to earth person, not snobby at all, got to talk to him at bal an blanc in montreal, VIP was behind the djs which was awsome and totally unexcpected, he made the crowd go nuts as usual, don't think he's going downhill at all, infact all the way up

Posted by TheVrk on Apr-23-2004 03:42:

Yes cos that's exactly what i'm looking for when I go to see a DJ spin. What a pathetic basis for an arguement.

nice djs are definately the best

Oh well, I only started this thread so people could flame/praise Armin as they saw fit themselves, since he deserved it and since doing it to Tiesto and PvD all the time gets boring. That's pretty much what has happened here, so now people can start bashing another DJ again.

Posted by E-vangelist on Apr-23-2004 15:31:

people only make/post in these threads to start shit about DJs they don't like.

Whoever was saying there are 11 pages and no good responses defending Armin, I have two things to say:

1, Intelligent people with better things to do don't waste their time with this bullshit, which is why the thread has only 170 something posts to over 3300 views.

2, Armin dosen't need me, you, or any other TA or fan to "defend" him in stupid threads like this one. His DJmag ranking, CD sales, and numerous gigs playing to sold out crowds everywhere in the world speak for themselves.

The same could be said for PVD who I can't stand. It's all about personal preference and opinion. If you like Armin, fine. If you like PVD or Tiesto, fine. If you don't, why don't you stfu about it and go do something useful with your time? like practice instead of trying to bash the big successful DJs that you know you want to be

Posted by sandstorm03 on Apr-23-2004 15:38:

armin still sucks

hmm... I guess it means nothing to you, but i'm sure you can smoke him with your skills, i mean who's armin, i bet everyone would die to see you play instead

I have no clue why i even bothered replying to this nonensense

Posted by sandstorm03 on Apr-23-2004 15:43:

I would much rather see mike spin then armin.

DUDE!!! i couldn't agree with you more, this tune needs its own release, actually i was exceptionally surprised that fag tunes like burned with desire, from the heart, never wanted this were getting attention.

something is seriously wrong when a track like burned with desire gets its own release but astronauts or slipstream doesn't.

EVERYone needs to take it easy......wow.
i dont see the need to bash anyone, but if u want
to, fine.
BUT, if u want us (supporters) to respect YOUR (bashers)
opinion, then you have to respect ours....

you all want us to respect u bashing a legend in the making,
but anything we say is put down and disrespected right away.

E-vangelist was rite: all the bashers here are BIG-TIME
HYPOCRITES
