josh - cheers for the pm, i have replied

at the end of the day we all want what is best for trance in sydney, but as in any industry where there is a potential market competition is inevitable (and im sure they won't clash everytime anyway, just unfortunate that is has this time)

time to focus back on the music
hope everyone has a great night and weekend whichever event they go to!

well said wade.

Also.. This RUSH event had to be on coz Tom is leaving for Ibiza, and Tom had to show Cam how to run things, and this was the only chance they would have before he left.

That's the truth!

I'm sure others who know Josh have felt disappointed to varying degrees, I've just happened to be more vocal in expressing my feelings.

Thanks for the reply Wade, it's exactly the kind of material I like to see here, and you always have valuable stuff to contribute.

You're putting pressure on Rush making them look like the bad guys. Unless you've spoken to Tom Brown directly, you're not aware of what/why and how the nights have ended up clashing. Everything is an pressumption.

I agree. I can only work from what I know, and from what people who are in-the-know tell me or post in message forums. I never fabricate facts from thin air, or make wild presumptions.

It looks like your posts are based on emotion more then researched fact. Glad to see you're putting your heart behind Josh and what he's doing, but please think about the damage you're doing to that other unrsearched side of the coin.

It's true that my emotions play a big part. I don't mean to make Rush look bad, but we must understand the situation that Josh has been put in as well.

I can only base my expression of emotions on what I do know. That is why it is important for people like Cam and possibly you to be around to balance things out with facts.

I would just like to see some balanced posting on the topic for once.

That's what you have just done, and that's why message forums like this are so important.

it was good to meet ya hyper ;D

Nice venue, shame about the crowd
I've never been to a club that has a sign in the toilets saying "ONE PERSON PER CUBICLE ONLY" before

Pretty good venue though, good setup and awesome sound & lighting. Respect to James & Sel for the opening set, and Scottie following on was pretty good too. Josh mate, only heard your opening 30 minutes, but sounded pretty good

Had to leave a bit early to head for Rush, but it looked like the place was about to go off!

It was a brilliant night at ARQ, easily the best event Josh has ever held!

The trance sounded so good on the great sound system, and the lasers and lighting were beautiful.

The crowd size was fairly good too, I think it could've done only slightly better (maybe 10% to 15% more).

I'll write some more later.

I had a good night, Diggs and Morro played an awesome set, prob my fav of the night.

Posted by Joshva on May-16-2004 06:08:

Well here are my thoughts on the night:

I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Such a great crowd as always. This time though i really tried to have a chat and hang out with everyone. Great seeing the regulars Synthasia, Tathi, Ossie, Trancing_pony, Doully (Chris :P), Hyperdimension, Miss Marishka, Big bear, Jubas, Solarus, Donwane and Shelli, Webmeister, Miss T and many many many more. I also spent a little bit of time running into the bathrooms and teaching people the special techniques necessary to fill up their water bottles at ARQ.

I had such a great time the vibe was awesome. A couple of my favourite moments were when the ITM photographer (I think that's who he was) came up on stage when i was playing and said this is absolutely f*cking awesome Thanks for the comments man!

Also I remember someone came up and requested Angelica and Nelson - Embrace which was in the cd player ready to be played next! Great timing

Thanks also to all the people who came up to me before the set and said i really really like that you play the anthems. Thanks guys and girls. I really do appreciate the comments.

Also numbers were great too I know it didn't look like the club was packed but we actually had more people turn up than ever before. Even more than at Suzie Q's in April. Great work!

Anyway we're aiming for the next event to be in early July just after uni exams finish. The TranceTribe DJ comp finalists will be on in the second room for part of the night too. As always i'm looking forward to it already.

Finally if you have any feedback or suggestions good or bad. Please email me with them [email protected] as I do really want to hear it in order to make the event even better. I can't promise that we can please everybody but we'll certainly do our best.

Posted by Chookie on May-16-2004 08:02:

By the way, here is our tracklisting:

PVD - Time of our lives
Chicane - Saltwater
Agnelli & Nelson - Holding onto nothing
Faraway Project - Believer
System F - Solstice
Oceanlab - Satelite
Questia - Nexus Asia
AVB - From the Heart
Ferry Corstem - Kyoto
Keith McMurray (& Cameron O'Shea) - Cleared for takeoff
Questia - Crystal Clouds
Three Drives - Carerra
Cosmic Gate - The Truth Part 11 (Ferry remix)
Brainbug - Nightmare

I completely fucked the last mix of the set, but shit happens, I'm happy with how the rest went, and even the 'best' DJ's make mistakes.
