keep up with the good work, lookin forward to the next mixes!

Hey bro, I use both CD and Vinyl. Although its becoming more apparent that CD is the way to go. I try to focus on great tracks no one else has and the majority of them just aren't on vinyl format. It keeps me 'separated' from everyone else. I'll try and get 10 and 11 up this weekend. Thanks for the support.

Many thanks Banjankri!

I also updated the first page with a smaller more contemporary look!(Notice it says best read at text size 'Medium') I'm still pondering 010. Might be making a longer version to champion my 10th Session. Hell just doing over 2 Sessions was a milestone, but I hope to do at least 100 of these over the course of a couple of years. 010 will be guaranteed great stuff; most likely going for 80 minutes so you can still burn to a CD. Take care everyone.

Im downloading session 9 now man...should be a good one judging by the responses. I was just curious as to how you go about finding all these obscure but quality tracks? My only source for music like this is EDM digital. Got any suggestions?

You gotta take into consideration my fascination for music. I mean, producing my own tracks is only a couple of months away for me now. But for the time being I have to search and search for great music. EDM digital does have a lot of stuff, I'm a huge advocate for tracks on there. I listen to every song weekly from all record shops, and the best ones are the ones I've never heard of. Just a hint for anyone DJing, don't look over anything, because the really great track is by an artist that you've never heard of, or never gave the time out to do listen to.

I wish I had the time to make mix after mix, but I can't. I'm sitting on so many great tracks at the moment, they need to be compiled and mixed. I have about 30 tracks at the moment that haven't been put into compilations yet, and 3 are from the TA amateur section. The key to finding good music again though is to listen to everything, whether it be from other sets, recommendations, songs you've never heard, or just simply 'googling' types of genres all day, or even search Amazon.com's selection of obscure stuff. I even get ideas of artists through movies/soundtracks and such. So moral is, never limit yourself to music, its amazing how much out there is waiting to be discovered, and even more amazing how much has been, and you haven't picked up on it yet.

Thanks guys for the support.

-Steve

Posted by eulerfx on Feb-11-2005 23:56:

Ahhh I've been waiting for the one with my track in it for so long!!!

I can't wait anymore, get 011 up there!

On the contrary, to cope with my anxiety I think I'll listen to Session 009

True but now that takes dedication and how in the world one would find the time to listen to everything!!! This would be a full time thing

Hey... I have not listened to your previous sets yet . Just halfway through with session #10 and loving it. Keep it up and thanks for the lovely music.

Posted by Steven Hays on Feb-14-2005 03:31:

Thanks P:T:X. And its definately not a full time thing, its just having a great use of your ears. Listen to everything, whether it be from a passing car on the street or music blasting from an apartment window.

And Euler, one of these days I'm gonna get your track in there! I promise.

Should be working on some sets this weekend again. 12 will be up no doubt next week when all my vinyl comes in. I'll try to finish 11 and 13. I'll also be taking down at least 3 of these sets, most noticeably the lowest of downloads.

Thanks everyone again for the support and IM's I've been getting.

All the best,

-Steve

Hi Steve,
Any word on the upcoming sessions? I'm eager to hear what's in store next. I've been enjoying every session you put out.

Question

Hi Steve, just wondering what the status of VCS is at this point? I haven't seen a post on this thread in more than a month. I'm a loyal listener of your mixes and can't wait for the new ones to come out.

I'm wondering too. I've been listening to the last 10 mixes over and over (268 times to be precise ) for 6 months now and I am still loving them as much as I did on Day 1.

Looking forward to more from the Violet Crown Sessions as well as Looking Forward to Yesterday (was that a bad pun? )

Best regards
Fraser (Violet Crown Addict)

Here's a long shot. It's been quite a while. Does anyone have any of these sets anymore? I don't have any on file anymore--I'm curious to hear some old stuff.

As for this forum, there's a lot of quality sets in this place now. I visit from time to time to d/l some of the latest. Good to see people still pursuing the dj'ing dream...Hopefully I'll be back on the decks at the end of the year and into some production finally.
