Yeah, but it's happened to me twice now with Tiesto

Tiesto is not God, he is just human... You can expect him to pay attention to every fan, it's like a crazyhouse when he performs. People all want something from him, girls go nuts.... Maybe just wait untill the time is right, and you could complete the djmag top 3 in your avatar.

I want Tiesto to refund me $40 for his bullshit show he did here in Chicago this summer. So I can than use the money to see DeepDish @ Soundbar on the 26th

Ouch, read all 13 pages at once. IMO, one of the most pointless threads I've seen in a while. I won't even contibute to the argument except to agree with Dave's statement about Tiesto in Chicago. I'm a a fan of Tiesto and like most of his stuff but that was a shite set from him. Totally dissapointed there.

Lets be honest. Good music like good wine takes a lot of time and effort to find. You can't expect your average clubber to do the dirty work of finding the next big thing. They expect the club promoters and owners to do that for them. Clubber want to get drunk and hit on girls.

That said.

I think a large part of the blame should go to the club promoters who bring in bullshit DJ's to the clubs and help create the bullshit club culture which is more of a show rather than an appreciation of the art form which is EDM.

They're are a few clubs in Chicago which have done their fair share to rebuild EDM in Chicago but hundreds still remain in the dark ages. As a result the typical Chicago clubber only knows of Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, and Armin and the tunes they play.

Also.

Its the media outlets in the cities which promote shitty music. Here in Chicago we have no dance music station at all. Just rap and hip-hop. We did awhile ago but it was filled with euro-cheese and shitty bad boy bill sets. This did not help to create the educated clubber one hopes for.

Unfortunately that's the problem in our capitalistic society. Its not about the quality of music, its about what can sell the most tickets or attract the most crowds.

Wow,

Do you think ill even think about "Will I read 13 pages of tiesto debating?"? Thats too much for me.

Im no Tiesto lover/hater, but what I saw from him is average overall.

Dont like him? Dont listen to him!

You might not realise, but the points that youre coming out with make you look really ignorant. Ignorance is bliss though isnt it?

Lol. And the people like you, with your absolute elitist attitude and sensless bashing, always suffer from having one major flaw in your arguments - YOUR OPINION IS NOT FACT. Everytime you post its just a stab or a flame with useless justification, and even if you do have good reasoning people have to fight you like hell to get it. Seriously, why did you even enter this thread? Do you like doing this? I'm fairly sure the majority of the TA community doesn't. I'm not attacking your taste, opinion, intellegence, freedom of speech etc. nor am I defendig Tiesto. It's just that when you post in this fassion it is idiotic and harmful to our already weakend community. So I figured I would ask you, respectfully, to please post in an intellegent manner, and give ligitimate reasons for your arguments so they are not just meritless flaming, or to just hold off posting in places where you are so tempted to do so. Because in my eyes, and the eyes of many others, posts like these do nothing but diminish people's respect for you.

no on this ocassion my opinion is fact. You might like tiesto, thats your opinion, but he is shit - thats a fact.

Britney spears is shit. people like her, that doesnt make her good, shes still shit.

the thing is though, saying tiesto is shit to a bunch of tiesto fans is like telling a bunch of 10 year old girls that britney spears is shit. What do they know? fuck all, which is the same for most tiesto fans. If they actually had any idea about music then theyd know he was crap, but they dont, so they dont. simple - his music is rubbish.

what are you talking about a community? I dont understand that...

not true. shit pop acts sell out bigger capacity venues more often than any of these djs you care to argue about. It doesnt make them good either, it makes them popular.

Can you be "shit" and still be "the shit?"?

The funny thing about this is it is just your opinion still but apparently since your a fucking moron your unable to understand that. If this thread was about PvD and people were bashing him you would be defending him with all your vigor because wether you like it or not your an OMG PVD I DIE!!!@!!J1111!!!1 fan. C3Sharp made excellent points none of which you listened to because your too stuck up to even consider someone elses opinion valid.

Just for your referance heres a defination of opinion

opinion
A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof.

NO WHERE IN THERE DOES IT SAY OPINION = FACT

Posted by Radagast on Nov-14-2004 07:37:

Well this is how I see it. In comparison to DJ's that are IN FACT off the stratosphere compared to Tiesto, who IN FACT have more skills with the turntable than he ever will, he is a bad DJ. That's called logic.

DJ Skills = The extent to which a DJ uses the decks, and the proficiency at what he utilizes.

Posted by idoru on Nov-14-2004 07:41:

This thread has made it this far? If someone likes an artist, then they like him. If they don't, then they don't. Who gives a fuck if they disagree with you?

Opinionated flame-wars = Dumb

Posted by Psiweaver on Nov-14-2004 08:00:

Completely agree Idoru.

Posted by Coffee on Nov-14-2004 19:22:

people ask why the thread? well like I said..
why the bashing?
it was my first post..
and many of you have told me/us why the bashing..

ok fair enough..

Im new to this board. and I realize that people are really serious about their trance and their favorite artists and alot of people think one sided while others dont..
yes we all have opinions. and we all have our favorites and we all see and listen to them in different ways..

and perhaps this thread was not a good idea hahahhaha
but its a good way to understand this forums members and how people think of artists.. some dont see any talent when they hate an artist, they refuse to even notice it.. blind sided... while others are very critical in fair ways..and those are the ones who come across as real trance fans and good critics.. giving credit when credit is due, and expressing personally opinions or taste afterwards seems right to me.. still giving credit to the ones they dislike.. seems right to me..

thanks all..

I hear what you are saying about the EDM community growing, but I don't know that I'm happy about having a bunch of sheep join our scene. More unknowledgeable fans that don't know who Hernan Cattaneo or Max Graham are, but suck Tiesto, Oakie and PVD's dicks. I prefer rounded fans that can be critical without, necessarily, bashing, but being honest about a dj that lacks technical merit. Tiesto did a lot to bring me into the scene and I will always love him for that, but I have progressed and my tastes have progressed. I'm not even talking the kind of music he plays, but the way he plays it.

lol you were a sheep just like they are, some of them will remain sheeps and some of them will move on like you say you did...
