I dunno if hiphop music is what people had in mind when making this thread, although it certainly is electronic music.

Why not make a seperate hip hop poll then. Things will be way too messy with it included, and way too many people will start arguing.

Nah.
Im content with the current idea, though where Im going to go from here certainly raises some questions. There will be a minimum number of nominations to get to the next round which Im hoping will take care of some of the high on fanbase, low on substance producers. Hip Hop producers have been central to electronic music's development and I feel it would be a sham to leave them out. Several Hip-Hop producers and their contributions to the artform are invaluable.

Solar Stone
unfortunately, to your dismay perhaps, i ultimately find this thread improfitable due to the fact that many will have disparate opinions. If a particular artist has received the most votes it still means jack shit in the end...

Too bad this business deal of a thread fell through.
Don't take it amiss, it's a good thread but what i mean to say is that round 2, round 3, etc. and the winner at length, i really see no point to that...you may just as well leave it as it is
just my 2 cents, surely. Btw, beats n bleeps, you may want to peruse the various definitions of "improfitable."
here, i'll save you the trouble: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=unprofitable
I thought about this, and I decided that Blue was right. I was intentionally vague in my requirements to allow me to import names like Dr. Dre, and not to allow others to exploit the loophole I created for myself is wrong. Running the poll doesn't give me creative license over it. So I'll count Blues vote unless he instructs me otherwise.
I dont see this thread being very successful either, but it sounded good when I started it. If people are interested, Ill keep track of the polling somehow...if not, then no one will notice what happens anyways.

...even so although I've liked alot of his stuff over the years, including him would be a joke compared to most mentioned in the list.

| Originally posted by Steve Stephano I would like to give a +2 for each of these artists. I believe they have all been very important in bringing EDM to where it is today. Btw, your list doesn't have a number of votes for Brothers in Rhythm. Also, Portishead should have 2 votes because I voted them and you gave them a plus 1, I believe, hehe. p |
