Finally, a good discussion.

I still think that if you compare the 10 people who post the most on LD to the equivalent here at TA... well, let's just say there's a large difference in the way they think. I still enjoy these boards though, because most of the time I have no bloody idea of what people on LD are talking about. They're all brits, too.

Posted by Ory on Mar-02-2005 19:40:

Oh, and I really don't think trance producers have a greater knowledge of music theory. They seem to be at somewhat the same level as techno producers... however the difference is in, like I said before, the people who listen to it/young amateur DJs. Techno = more open to experimental stuff, also incorporates house and even jazz sometimes. Trance = same old, same old... don't hear alot of amateur DJs spinning anything but ASOT/Vandit/Anjunabeats/whatever tracks, do you?

They sure are alot more down to earth than all these cocky American amateur DJs who think they know what trance is. (yes, I know how ironic that sounded)

WOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!! SHAWN MITISKA!!!1111 FUCK ARMIN'S ASS GOOD NOW, BOY!!!!!111

or something. I don't know. I'm tired.

if you're tired, you should retire

Ory,

You are an arrogant 18 year old kid who just discovered that a sound called detroit techno exists, you've listened to 2-3 records and you think you became someone. Now, because you offend people in here, you become a disturbing bastard very often, i suggest quiting these boards unless you fix your behavioural problems. The bad thing is that you musical knowledge is very limited and you are very young to start offending people about their musical tastes. You may ofcourse experience personal problems and express your teenage anger in TA. I see you post very often here, you are a post-whore and a very bad one indeed. 80% of your posts are negative and disturbing and nobody is happy not even you i guess. You know that a negative post will result in a negative response. You seem to enjoy that though, (in a bad S&M way maybe...) as you receive a continuous stream of negative feedback and you continue!. Now because this whole think is bad, you must do something about that... what do you think?

Wow, you morons assume alot. I don't *think* I know everything, however I want to know as much as possible. I mean, really, do you even see what I'm saying here? I'm claiming that trance is fucking cheese, and that trance lovers are stuck-up poser idiots. Maybe you should try looking at the ASOT kiddies around here, and how they behave, instead of assuming lots of things about some kid you dislike (me).

Every time you will say that you are not close-minded, I will put this quote forth.

And yes, you ARE a hypocrit.

If only tranceADDICTS were allowed in here, I think this would be quite a small community. Besides, discussions about any form of EDM are allowed.

Posted by mr.anderson on Mar-02-2005 20:03:

the answer is basically to annoy and wind up people.
Wondering why they aint banned yet.

So, Rock music is cheesy and cheap too, Ory?

And every time I claim trance lovers are a bunch of idiots who don't know what music is, I'll wave your discogs collection around a bit. Do we have a deal?

Posted by mr.anderson on Mar-02-2005 20:06:

...and if it was jsu tpurely tranceaddicts here, there would be much less arguments, and especially people like Ory

Is that the best comeback you could come up with? Remember where you are. TranceAddict, not McElitistAddict.

You're right. But since DECENT people listen to ALL SORTS of music, a forum like that would get quite lame.

Oh piss off with that argument already, noone's gonna stop me from bringing up other types of electronic music. And frankly, if you were OPEN-MINDED, you'd thank me for that.

Now, let's leave that for a moment. One question; do you want trance to stay the way it is right now, forever? This is a question for everyone.

Posted by Jake Conlon on Mar-02-2005 20:14:

for you Ory.

Would you change if stayed the same way it is forever?

Posted by Ory on Mar-02-2005 20:18:

No. I will always hate trance the way it is now, whether I actually share that opinion with others or not.

Posted by Jake Conlon on Mar-02-2005 20:21:

There is quite a bit of great stuff floating round these days.

Search.

Is all i can say.

stay away from the major players .

or you could listen to some Pumping finish psy trance .

Posted by Ory on Mar-02-2005 20:23:

I dunno, I've listened to quite a bit of psytrance, and I can't say it interests me any more than regular trance.

But whatever; suggest some trance artists/tracks.

You are hopeless. I am not trying to stop you from anything. I listen to other genres besides trance (trance is what I spin though). OMG, even your revered techno (hell must've frozen over, stupid tranceaddict listening to techno). I am arguing against your elitist and close-minded attitude.

One advice I can give you, it is better to introduce other genres as an alternative, instead of calling others stupid and elevating your taste to some godly level.

You either take my advice or leave it. For the time being I am done arguing with you, since you seem to purposively ignore critical comments made by me and others.

Another advice is to grow up. Everyone is having a blast in here, because of your immature intolerance.

anyway a goodnight from me to you.

no, we would be happily sharing our tastes and having conversations without any arguments, without thinking that someone like you will show up and slag everything off for the fun of it.

That's what I'm talking about. People like you seem so stuck on being copies of Armin van Buuren or Tiesto. And oh no, you don't put any work into it either. You buy a bunch of records EVERYONE has heard hundreds of times before, study a fucking book to get some technical skill with turntables and then believe you're a music lover. The same problem I have with little kids who stuffed some notes into their little brains and claim they can play the piano. Do they feel the music in any way? No, they remembered what keys to press. Derrrrrrrr.

I'm rambling, I know, but there's alot more to it than "the elitist and the trance kiddie". And it would take a lifetime to explain.
