I forgot to mention the great vocal display of the Scousers, hat off to the Kop, that was an absolutely quintessential football atmosphere at Anfield today.

Here's another splendid YNWA moment :: http://www.esthercoma.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ynwavfcb.htm

clarence seedorf, jaap stam & mark van bommel arnt half bad ... unless by stars u mean strikers

i never thought id see the day where id be cheering liverpool on but today just made me realize that i really do despise juventus that much ...liverpool played fantastic football in the first half and both goals were fantastic strikes ... 2nd half was a bit dogdy for the kops and I feel for scotty carson ... the lad made some good saves in the first half and should have realized that cannavaros header packed a mean spin ... the referre seemed a little partial towards juve and didnt give liverpool deserved free kicks when players especially finnan were being blatantly knocked down near the penalty area ... its kinda hard to see liverpool going thorough now given juventus' notorious record of 1-0 victories but should they score the first goal at the del appi .. juventus are fuct because it means they will have to attack which means actually send players forward

im happy for psv and it would be nice to see them go through to the semi finals although lyon arnt pushovers away from home

big games tomorrow ... bayern vs chelsea (hate both of em but wanna see chelsea go thorough simply cuz they an english club)

ac milan vs inter (id love to see inter lift the trophy now that Man U and Madrid are out but its not going to be easy to beat AC Milan especially with Adriano out).

Go to Barcelona, they will tell you Mourinho is a dick and knows nothing about the beautiful game.

Go to Barcelona, they will tell you it's impossible for Chelsea to play any form of counter attacking soccer under Mourinho.

Go to Barcelona, rather they will tell it to you or not, they were knocked out of the CL by Chelski!

BTW so much for my knowledge on Shevy, saying he wasn't gonna play and end's up scoring

i wish he didnt play for milan ... hes my favorite player but i dislike the club he plays for .. and now the bastards resposible for putting inter on the brink of elimination even though they didnt deserve to win ...from what i read inter dominated the first half completely and even in the second matched them for every move .. alas milan has to rely on set pieces again to get their goals ...they play such crappy football that they should be ordered to play all their games in empty stadiums along with juventus out of favor to people who enjoy watching a good game.. i thought id like to see chelsea go through but i want bayern to beat them now even though it looks highly unlikely .. cole was a lucky bastard to get two deflections and lampard scored two absolute stunners(the mans now officially the best midfielder in the world IMO). With no offence intended to dj-hordash, i thought drogba was shite. He hasnt reproduced even a fraction of the form he had with OM and today he again scored through a tap in. Neverthless, besides the milan derby which IMO is finished since no one can score twice against ac milan, the other 3 games should be very interesting... cant wait for next week

AC Milan 2-0 Inter
-Bad luck for Inter who lost Adriano and Vieri not fully fit. Dida made 3 huge saves to keep Inter off the score sheet. Pirlo is a damn good playmaker. Inter lacked that finishing touch, though they pass really well.
What is up with Materrazzi not starting?

Chelsea 4-2 Bayern Munich
-Bayern did not have both Pizzarro and Makaay out with injury. So they basically played 4-5-1 with unknown Peruvian striker Guerrero up front. Bayern midfield did not step up.
Joe Cole is in fine form last 2 weeks but Lampard, man he is indeed the best midfielder in the world right now. I thought Drogba had a good game, or is it just that Robert Kovac is getting old and can't keep pace with Drogba.
The funny thing is, Bayern can still go through with a 2-0 or 3-1 victory at home.

And yes, Tony Smyth is indeed very amusing.

Haha no offence taken by friend, Droga had his off days with lOM as well but even then hed find himself at the perfect place at a perfect time with immaculate game reading and positioning on the pitch. I didnt have time to watch the game but if you mean that he hasnt found his form this season then Ill have to disagree. Besided all the injuries this year I think he has adapted remarkably to the EPL and quite rapidly as well. At the top of his game, hes just a class above the rest.

Drogba is indeed class. And if La Liga's MVP is coming down the right flank next season with Robben on the left setting him up, he will be unstoppable!

true but that raises questions about 2 players .. if joaquin does come to london then where will duff play and if robben plays striker does that mean gudjohnsens out??

ps: do you know la ligas mvp was breast fed till the age of 6 .. i just cant get over that

Posted by Yohan on Apr-08-2005 05:55:

Well, Duff had to struggle to find a place with Mourinho. Though having depth is nice.

Robben is not a centre forward, but more of a wing forward and can't replace Gudjohnsen

Robben is fuckin sickk.

Chelsea is fuckin sickk.

Chelsea all the way- i predict a 2-1 win by Chelsea next leg. Lampard and Terry will be the scorers. i'll be checking back with this one.

Just a question to everyone...

Has anyone been to Stamford bridge or Old Trafford? I've trained with both programs and I highly highly recommend everyone visit London and Manchester. they are beautiful cities, ha with great parties.

but anywho- Blues are in great form and no ones stopping them.

LOL I'm surprised so many people know about that. But I must say, the guy has proven he's a worthy star this season and not just one of the latin style 'turn it on 1 game, disapear for 30' type players. I really want to see him at a club where his talents can be exposed to the best of Europe, hopefully Real but I wouldn't have a problem if he just went to a club that can get him the recognition he deserves.

Posted by Yohan on Apr-11-2005 10:25:

Gerrard possibly out for tomorrow's match. He'll be missed by Liverpool.

Makaay is fit again and Pizzaro may also be able to play against Chelsea. Any one want to take Bayern 2-0 Chelsea bet?

Posted by starsearcher on Apr-11-2005 13:24:

leave CL out for a moment...did anyone see the game last night between Real Madrid and Barca?!?! WHOHA...it was played at 1pm our time but they showed it at midnight. I recorded it and saw some of the goals this morning when I woke up. Holly shit..Real won 4:2, spectacular game!!!! Beckham was amazing, he's BACK!

If Joaquin signs with Chelsea they will probably ship out Kezmen next season. Kezmen's put in 110% effort, but hasn't really been able to find the back of the net more then handful of times. As a striker in the blue uniform that's gotta be a worrying sign. In a team chalk full of supreme talent Kezmen's looked out of sorts, which is sad because he's always been a prolific goalscorer. I hope they keep him for another season, but i can see him being farmed out next season with Carlton Cole and Forsell pushing for first team selection.

If they manage to beat Real to the signature of Joaquin (which i hope they do), they'll probably play Joaquin on the right (his natural position), with Duff on the left wing and Robben in the centre, playing the free role linking up with the target man (Drogba).

The question is -- will the blues make an offer that's too good to refuse for Inters Adriano ?

Drogba + Adriano at the top with

Duff, Robben, Lampard, Joaquin to provide the support...

- Now that's a fierce lineup !

robbens a winger through and through. he doesnt like playing down the middle and the same goes with duff so that can only mean robben plays attacking forward and word has it that chelsea have snapped up gerrard in which case makelele goes a bye bye.
As far as Adriano goes, i wouldnt bet on him leaving inter just yet. But what i dont hope for is for fucknut abramovich to put on championship manager again to see whose a good talent and lock eyes apon torres because as word has it Man U are planning to offload saha ,kleberson and maybe smith(although i hope not cuz i freakin love this guy simply cuz of how hard he works on the pitch) and make a bid for torres. Also giggs is getting old and prone to injury now so we need to start looking for a left winger , van der vaart looked the perfect candidate at one time but hes out of sorts at the moment and as far as keane goes ... without a doubt we need to snap up essien ... hes the perfect candidate to fill keanos boots

Robbens injury prone, so they could easily sign Joaquin for the right and have Duff and Robben on the left, possibly switching it up every few games.

Torres signing for Man U seems implausible though. He'd probably cost around 20 million, and that's money Man U just don't have. Besides, what Man U desperately need is quality left winger, not more striker. They need to also find a replacement for Keane (Essien is a possibility, but he's going to be chased by at least 3-4 top European teams). Torres adjusting to life in EPL has also got to be a worrying factor. Reyes anyone ?

I predict the devils are going to lose out on some top talent come summer because of Fergie's blunders in signing some below average players last summer. Kleberson, Djemba Djemba, Forlan, Miller, Saha, Smith, Bellion, etc...what was the fiery Scot thinking ? Saha and Smith are good for any other premiership side, but I'm not sure if they are red devils material just yet. The rest were quite frankly disappointing !

Getting Rooney for the inflated price that they did was a bad move as well. Rooney's a great talent, but i just don't see the kid materializing into a 20+ goal scorer for at least a few years. Should let him stay with Everton for another season -- but then they might have had Chelsea to contend with for his signature. Still, paying $35 million for him seemed a bit much...

Why would Chelsea want to get rid of Makelele? He still has few yrs left in him.

You're talking about Fernando Torres from Athletico Madrid, right? He is indeed exciting young striker... Don't want to see him wasted on Man U though.

Giggs, Keane and Scholes are getting old, though they may still have one or two more yrs of good football left. However, Essien plays more of a centre midfield role, not more defensive midfield role that Keane plays. Doesn't have as same presence that Roy Keane have. At least, not yet.

Posted by Kytracid on Apr-11-2005 15:28:

AC Milans Gattuso is the logical choice to replace Keane. They are both hard nosed defensive midfielders who like to get stuck in. Essien will probably end up going to la'Liga (Real) where he can replace Gravesen.

Chelsea will probably still end up buying Gerrard only because they want to have two players of international calibre for every position.

Gerrard + Maka for that defensive midfield spot.

Ashley Cole + Wayne Bridge for the left back.

If they do manage to secure both players, Chelsea will be front runners to lead the EPL and Europe for the next 5-6 years. The only thing they'd need then is a world class right winger and a proven 20+ goal scorer like...ummmm...well, there's lots to choose from but this Ukranian striker who loves banging them in does come to mind.

Whether he will leave Milan is another thing though...
