I'm working on getting you out here to La La Land and possibly up north to San Francisco as well. Email me at [email protected] with your contact info, I don't have PMs on this board.

Cheers...

Acosta haters can go ahead and listen to their top 40 trance. Get real, seriously. GA is cheese? Sure he was cheesey - 5+ years ago, as was every other trance DJ. Nice biased opinion. Wake up and smell reality. Seen any of his recent tracklists? Didn't think so. Have you heard any of his recent productions (which have been very well accepted)? Probably not.

I have over 50 live sets from Acosta. It is the furthest thing from cheese. Whereas the top trance jocks often play the same shit over and over, GA does it different. Too hard for you? Oh, I'm sorry. Go home.

I'll be interested to hear what all the "GA haters" say after his appearance at Heaven......

GA has turned doubters into believers with 90% of my clubbing friends. Even trance haters. Nice booking Leon.

Ever wonder why he packs the house every time he plays in LA? Hmmmmm..........

Hummm So what if Accosta "packs the house" here in La. He Brings a diffenrt crowd that well... That dosn't matter I am sorry. Accosta is a Shit DJ! After his apperance in La last night he is a still.....
well...... A SHIT DJ. I don't think he mixed one Recored clean last night. It was a mess. Yes Accosta it too hard for me some times then he gets into fluffy cheees then right back to hard again. There is no direction or flow in his sets. There where Maybe 2 Tracks I liked last night from him 2! ( My full review will come later)
Yes I have heard his Recent productions.. and guess what.. They are cheesy shit too imo.
Please do not tell me to go home! We have diffent views and both are vallid here.

Wasn't a bad set imo. Very Blank & Jonesish, infact I recognized some of the tracks from the Blank and Jones set at Spundae a couple of weeks back. Taylor was ace again. All DJs did their jobs. Fantastic atmosphere all around. Congrats to Leon and co.

I was kinda disapointed. I liked the older club much better than this one, it had a better overall sound and better vibe. As for Acosta, he wasen't good, but wasent bad either. He definately fucked with the EQ's way too much.

Posted by Hypersky on Apr-30-2005 21:26:

I loved the new venue. The sound was incredible. I wasn't expecting it to be even remotely that good.

Posted by Electrophile on Apr-30-2005 21:28:

I wasn't able to attend last night but I am dying to know how GA served up his special brand of cheese? Was it a grilled cheese sandwich? Or did it come as a side with nachos or a pretzel? Maybe a cheese burger? Sweetcandy Girl, what did the trainwreck meter read at the end of the night?

Posted by Hypersky on Apr-30-2005 21:30:

You shoud've come and seen for yourself. It wasn't cheesy at all. I was impressed.

Nah. I had to weigh the pros and cons and I just prefer the atmosphere in Spundae better, so I'll be at M.I.K.E .

BTW, as for Acosta, I didn't really expect much and was pleasantly surprised. His sound is far from my cup of tea, but i definitely wouldn't call it cheesy. Its more of a harder edged sound. Alot of the tracks he plays have punchy kicks and are very stab oriented. It sounded alot like the Blank and Jones set to me, and it was definitely not much better or worse than anyone Spundae have brought in since they came back. That of course, is about to change next Saturday.

+ a motherfucking huge 1!!!!!!

Looks like only 1 person agrees that Acosta is a "cheesy shit DJ".

Seriously, why insult DJ's that other people may like? It brings no benefits whatsoever to the board.

Sweetcandy, you're still cool to me, but you dissin on Acosta is like me dissin on Markus. But I wouldn't do that to you.

Posted by Shafer8 on May-02-2005 04:04:

I feel the same way, if anyone should be bad takling about music, we should all be agreeing that country is cheezy!

sorry bro, I'm with Sweetcandygirl on this one. Acosta was his worse the three times I've seen him play, twice at RED and this past friday night. I think he just doesn't give a shit about it anymore. and it shows esp. with his last release of Jon Secada's Just Another Day. It's like DJ Sammy's Heaven all over again, ruining Bryan Adams hit song.

ps... one month and 9days to go, w00t w00t...

Cheers...

Well, I think he does give a shit considering that Secada wanted to do a project with him. What does it hurt? I personally don't care for the Secada track, but that is just one track. His normal productions are spot on and quality - tracks most people don't even know about. He has also started his own record label. He's had a weekly radio show for over two years, and it just went nationwide on Sirius. After seeing GA about 15 times now, he just put on one of his best shows ever up here in Seattle. He still cares, and is still on. His RED sets have never been among the best, save for the first one back in the day which everyone I know liked.

Sorry, but IMO the cheesiest fucking tracks ever are the gay male vocal shit that some "other" trance jocks keep putting out. I won't mention names....

P.S. Counting the days man.........
