I know .....that was the only thing I really agreed with MIKE HARRIS - make the cuts - we needed to pare down and restructure - that much I argued when Mike Harris was being dissed by everyone - makes the cuts MIKE only to force restructure and fiscal restraint - with the hope to rebuild - and reintroduce money into a a more streamlined effecient manner---is this happening----I dont know??

Actually... I was listening on the radio to this, and the most disgusting thing was what Harper had to say. He essentially said that Stronach was only jumping ship to further her own political career because she would never be leader of the conservatives. It was really terrible. Honestly, the liberals piss me off sometimes, but Harper is such an asshole. I really don't like him at all.

it was till mcguinty set us back 10 years. we were just getting caught up from the NDP /Liberal days of yore too. Bob Rae did the most damage. TOo bad the PCs couldnt finish their job. I didnt agree with many things they did though such as making municipalities take over provincial highways. Not to mention the confusion now that they have all been renumbered.

all he was stating was the truth. Stronach left to further her own career since she had tried and failed within the conservatives. Otherwise she would have sat as an independent which truely would have been the best thing for her constituents instead of being parachuted into a high level cabinet post with little experience.

and McGuinty was supposed to be (i had hoped) the one re-apllying the money fiscally - I don't know there is too many people with their hands out ot the moment - everybody wants some of the budget surplus

what budget surplus? Ontario has a $6 billion deficit despite the taxes that mcguinty imposed. He's almost as reckless as bob rae was with his $9 Billion deficits.

federally - ontario needs that money back

we need more money funneled into Ontario - basically is what I am saying.......one our Provincial STRONGHOLDS is ailing - if our Mother wont help her baby so to speak.....

i believe it was $2 billion and it was blamed mainly on the mad cow and sars crises of that year. The liberals have managed to make it $6 billion and counting. They can no longer play the blame game since they have raised taxes twice now and yet the deficit has grown 3 times. The problem is that tax money is gushing like water since they took over.

the sponsorship program had nothing to do with quebec. It was just a guise they used to steal our money. Thats all.

Mad cow...........the states sure fucked us on that one.....My friends family from back home - cattle farming for 30 years - gone!!

There has been a lot of money pumped to them.....but not enough - and beef is a VITAL industry in Canada - they waited too loong....IMO

its a shame we cant get any real change. People buy the lies they want to hear because they dont want to deal with the truth. The truth is our social systems are kaput and need reform and our taxes are way too high which is why a lot of professionals are leaving canada.

then why do you support the Lieberals? Remember, the Lieberal Party is not a federalist party, it's a centralist party. They want the federal government to run everything, directly or indirectly (through the spending power). The NDP is also a centralist party.

We need a government that will respect the constitution and it's federalist aspects to stop the fiscal imbalance.

this propping up of EGO has really laid waste to this social structures that make this Country a wonderful place to be.......I really hope that things improve quickly on the political landscape election of no election.....the matter at hand is running the Country and I dont know if any of them (3 parties) can do it with any degree of success. I was always a staunch Chretien supporter and I know what he did to Martin was unfair - but Martin should never have been Prime Minister - stick to balancing Budgets - he was always more of a numbers man IMO -

i think the conservatives should be given a chance. If they fuck up we can just get rid of them in 4 years. but who knows, we may just be pleasently surprised. All i know is nothing is going to change if we keep these current liberals in power.

If not for this mess now - is that what you would vote or have you always been Conservative leaning??

i always voted reform/conservative only because i believe that the whole political system in canada needs to be restructured. Id like to see what the conservatives can do for our country. Like i said if they are just as bad then its time to dismiss them as well.

My dad isnt a liberal. He votes all over the map. He voted liberal last time but the recent events such as sponsorship has changed that. He was still in the maybe column until he made that deal with layton. That really set him off.

where you ever involved actively with those parties you mentioned?? Like Youth based groups - recruiting..etc??

yeah mine too - I remember meeting Chretien at a Young Liberal function at a Yatch Club we belonged to in '91.....I was pretty active with them Protested Mulroney when he came to town in 88/89.....FREE CANADA/TRADE MULRONEY.....hahaha! and of course the was the whole Tainted Tory Tuna banner thing happening.....It felt good to be a part of something that gave us a voice....ya know???
