Players shouldn't act like that when they're getting paid to play, period.

That being said, i once refused to come off the bench on a similar occasion, on an hockey game. But hey, i was like 14 years old and not professional

I did a similar thing once. I didn't start a game and was so upset because someone who didn't go to practice at all took my place. It was unfair. Stupid coaches! I was so upset that when my time came in to go in, after the start of the second half, I just went in and went for the nearest opponent with the ball. Poor guy fell to the ground like a brick. I was given a yellow card, but that was enough to get me off the field for like five minutes or so. The guy was still flat on the field when I got to the bench. I took my stuff and headed home.

I was 16. I'd still do it again.
