Unless of course you would prefer to live in that socity rather than anarcy which you seem to be advocating.

(not to get away from the origonal point or over complicate things ofcourse )

Here is the paradox.

Let your dog eat from your plate once and do nothing about it.

Day 2 , dog will eat again.

Day 3, dog will eat again

etc.

Punish your dog once or twice and your dog will understand not to eat anymore.

Let a rapist rape people with no hard punishment (i prefer death peanlities for this) , they will rape again and more rapist will start raping.

Without Anarcy the word civilised wouldn't exist.

Posted by Dervish on Jun-20-2005 22:30:

Well is prison not a punishment (as well as other things)........

as for

"Without Anarcy the word civilised wouldn't exist."

how do you mean the natural entropy of the universe or people ceasing power in anarcy (a dictatorship, not anarcy)?

What right do you have to play God? God does not grant you that right. You are not all knowing. You are not the judge of man.

Christians believe that in the end, all answer to God. Your rapist will stand before your God and answer for his actions.

I agree with M@t and Dervs, here. Arbitch Arbiter, you surprise me.

exactly. i never cared much to go that in-depth when calling orbax out cuz he always just gets outraged and comes back something like, "SHUT UR IGNORANT MOUTH BITCH! get back in the kitchen"!!!

no but seriously orbax, it's true, ur kind of a hypocrite w/ the whole bible reading christian boy persona, then the next minute ur justifying revenge....doesn't add up, that's all.

This is ludicrous
Would you advocate capital punishment on your dog also? Can't be seen to have double standards.

Surely without civilisation the word anarchy wouldnt exist?

Hope it all turns out well.

all good i don't care about that crap...

I think you should take the girl in and help her, make sure you set grounds rules and fast though. DOnt say "oh i will decide in august". Chat with her now and tell she has to stop seeing him, and cut all ties if you are to allow her move in. Make sure to hammer that point into her. Also when she does come back for georgia, make sure too keep her busy, job, just drinking/clubbing, anything really. Cos if she is left on her own and bored she will go back to him.

As you have said you very good at persuading people, so make full use of that. Big turning point for the girl in live., if she lets him get away with it once and goes back to him, she probaly wont ever have to balls to walk away.

If she cant get away, and stay away from him shes laughing! Best of luck with it.

If its a good firned or family member you will know. I dont agree with reading random stories in papers and going around kicking the shit out of them.

I aint gonna lie and say "oh i would let the courts sort it out". If someone raped a family member, goodnight.

Don't get me wrong what I might do is different to what I should do. And in the end I'd have to ask wether what I'm doing was for me or for the family member or whatever.

Would they like to see that the person not only semi-fucked up their life but also mine too just over the heads of a little kickin (or if more a killing, totally fucked up).

i'd make sure i wasnt cauht, also make sure not too kill. Just teach him a proper lesson. I wouldnt tell the family of my actions, be worried they would tell me not too.

And i really dont think i could stand by and do nothing, expecially if he got away with it.

But then arn't you doing it for you rather than them?

But yeah if they were getting off and you knew you wouldn't get caught the case for a bit of DIY does become compeling (even though you would have to face upto it if you got caught).

Now, thats very condescending and preachy, but it isnt realistic. You have "faith" in the system that puts rapists in jail for 4 years and pot smokers in for 8. You have people who downloaded microsoft products in FEDERAL prison for 20 years minimum. and you want me to trust this? You have a very ignorant, if utopian, outlook. To be honest, im not shocked at all that you would have this opinion.

We can argue about how Jesus flattened temples, and God ordered the wiping out of entire villages in the old testament, but it gets us no where. If divine justice was something, we wouldnt have terrestrial laws. As a woman, you have no idea what a mans role in society is. You talk about peace, when it has been won by the blood of thousands of men.

You have no place to judge my level of christianity. If you think God wants us to stand by and let men rape women and then trust our shitty systems that do nothing, that would be calling God irrational and unrealistic, and that is way more blasphemous in my opinion.

Try to use like...reason and stuff instead of pseudo religious catechisms.

I would be doing for myself, i dont mind admitting that. I would find it hard to sleep at night knowing the person was still out there.

Also if he caught away with it, whats to stop him doing it again? chopping his nuts off thats what!

TOuch wood i never have to deal with it though, cant imagine a lot of things worse to deal with!

Yeah, Im such a hypocrite. Wait how does that saying go? The greatest evil is the inaction of good men? Im sure youd be tickled pink when your dad, brother, and boyfriend all told you to just call the cops and say "hey im just a man, what do you expect ME to do about it"

You have a very narrow view of religion if you think being religious is a monk on a mountain top somewhere doing no wrong.

The paradox is the good employee. If you had an employee that NEVER did ANYTHING wrong but never did anything right either, and one that kind of screwed up sometimes, but for good reasons and usually was on the right track; which would you want?

Im glad youre pulling out my kitchen joke still, I thought it was pretty funny glad you did too.

no youre right, women know exactly what its like to be a man in our society. Just like you know whats its like to be a woman? There are roles and feelings one of a different sex CANT know unless you are that sex. I dont see how this is confusing.

Your convictions have been formed and moulded by society though have they not. Therefore you are a product of the system, your morality being based upon the cultures and philosophies youve grown up around.
I dunno where im going with this to be fair, just wanted to say lol

Sorry to say it, but God very clearly (at least God of the Christian Bible) states that we are to be subserviant to our authorities. I believe it's in Romans, but I can try to find the chapter, if you like. I'm not saying that I wouldn't do anything about it, but I certainly wouldn't justify it in God's eyes.

Posted by Slylee on Jun-20-2005 23:28:

to be honest, if i got raped, i really would encourage my dad (dont have a brother) to not get involved because i wouldn't want him to end up behind bars....

i'd hire someone.

besides orb u got off the point, i wasn't saying ur wrong for wanting to beat up (or possibly kill) a guy who raped ur mom or sister, i was just agreeing with echo about how u always say one thing, and then completely contradict it sort of..well u contradict what u claim to represent, that's all.

Posted by Dervish on Jun-20-2005 23:29:

I dunno it just seemed to me an unbelivably disrespectful (and personal) post really.

You are saying there that she has "such and such" an outlook and saying that your view is realistic where as hers is somehow not.

As for the "understanding a mans position in socity" hmm thats a tough one these days with the metros and so on people even wearing pink shirts it does become harder to understand our roles.

But to say that someone has no idea is a bit harsh, even if they are from, the other side as it were.

I'm gonna miss out the religon stuff tho... thats a whole other can of worms.

I really tried but....

well, by the Grace and Forgiveness of God, hopefully He wont send me to Hell for defending a rape victim. He also says mind the laws of man as long as they do not go against His Word. Then you get into Old Testament Eye for Eye things vs new testament Turn a Cheek thing. Which is more valid. Id say both, because one is saying there will be equivalent damage, but turn the cheek and let the law deal with it IF the law will deal with it. Rapists get off easssy. Miranda ADMITTED to raping 2 women and got completely off because "he didnt know he couldnt do that"

our system is historically flawed and im sure in the religious hierarchy rape SHOULD be more priority than 12 year old girls downloading songs off napster. Then again, im all screwed up apparently

Arguing Bible is ultimately futile because all is forgiven when asked. You have to be honest and genuine. I think some people are mixing up LIKING hurting people with hurting them. I stopped boxing years ago because I dont like it. Someone offered me 1000 dollars the other day to take a starling nest out of their house and kill the babies. Not even shitty starling babies would I touch. Im not a fan of it, id much rather get drunk and fuck around. You think I LIKE going up to people and having to deal with that shit. I am a huge fan of not having stress in my life.

I dunno, I guess im blind in my hypocracy.
