Solar Stone - Jabberwock (Chill out mix)
Insigma - Open You Eyes (Insigma Mix)
Evanescence - Hello (Trifactor vs. Gabriel & Dresden Rmx)
Mark Norman - Teardrops
Evanescence (Sp?) - Bring Me Back To Life (Stalker Remix)
Dominic Plaza - Sounds Rushing (David West Remix)
Above and Beyond - Liquid Love
I don't know if these are mentioned
Airwave- "Alone in the dark" (deep melancholic trance. An Excellent piece of music!)
Airwave- "lightspeed" (excellent melancholic track)
Firewall- "Reflections" (Lange at his most beautifull Vangelis-like chords.Anyways, it has this high-pitched synth on top, it's ssooo emotional) Sample- http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF81425-01-01-01.mp3
Firewall- "Touched" (Both original and plastic angels mixes)- (This is according to many trance producers and djs one of the BEST melodic trance tunes ever written-Armin has it in his top-5 (don't know if that's good though). sample- http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF81425-01-02-01.mp3
Thrillseekers- "Synaesthesia"(En-motion mix) (No comments, The original instrumental track was sick in my opinion)
Art of Trance- "Labyrinth parts 1 and 2" (Ok this is a sick lead-line there!Invokes a feel of "desperation". A very dark trance tune. "Gothic" trance indeed. Very underrated.
Rapid Eye- "Circe Forever" (classic)
Solar Stone- "Seven Cities" (No comments)
Dreas- "Morning Snow" (This is the b-side of "sonic rush".A very touching tune. Sad it went unnoticed)sample- http://www.4djsonly.com/4DJ/index/p...m/productID=606 (you have to be a member first but it's very easy anyway)
Cyclone- "Rivierra" (Another underrated tune. Pure sad nostalgic bliss.Just listen to this and catch yourself crying)
there are many more out there.Start with these
Most things by Voyager (Justin Scott Dixon) are pretty melancholic. very hypnotic/.
Sad is not the word. you mean melancholic.
If you wanna listen to SAD TRANCE MUSIC, download some funeral music and but a 4-4 beat over it. lol
SOme of the suggestions on this thread are interestingly perscribed. Alot of trance is written in a minor key, but doesn't actually end up sad -- but more ethereal, thoughtful, or driving and ominous.
En-Motion - Getting Away With It (THrillseeker's INstrumental)
Not because the track is definitively sad, per se, but because it does have this "solemn" sound to it that I experienced at one time when I was in a rather lonesome period in my life.
Armin van Buuren - Never Wanted This (Progressive Downtempo)
Lyrics seemed sad, and the strings touched my heart somehow.
Actually, downtempo, IMO, is the better place to look for more "thoughtful" emotions that are slow. Sadness is difficult to experience in a fast pace (but I will call for exceptions).
Cascada - Everytime We Touch
DJ Sammy - Heaven
Darude - Sandstorm
Fragma - Embrace Me

Tears of joy by active sight. Also envio touched by the sun.Has brung tears 2 my eyes.
Does being sad/emotional feel good? Why do you guys like to listen to songs that make you sad?

At the risk of sounding dated, a lot of the more sad stuff I like is older. One of my more favorite sub-genres. Here are some of the songs I can remember without looking too hard:
Chicane - Red Skies
Chicane - No Ordinary Morning
Chicane - Autumn Tactics (Thrillseekers Remix)
Probably a lot more Chicane too as well, esp. the downtempo stuff
Jase FOS - Do What You Want (Infusion Remix) -- the first time I listened to Holden's Balance CD, I went back and played this song four times straight before going onto the next track.
Deepsky - Ghost (Original Mix)
Max Graham feat. Jessica Riddle - Gone
Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek (Enmass Remix) -- though to be honest, it's a lot more happy than the original.
Departure - Without You Near
Above & Beyond - Can't Sleep
Blackwatch & Quivver - Loveless (Original Mix)
Britney Spears - Everytime (Above & Beyond Remix)
"and this song's my suff'ring..." (I think)
Delerium - Innocente (Markus Schulz Remix) -- this song sounds like a despairing race towards doing something drastic. It's haunting, but fast enough to be action-packed.
Markus Schulz - You Won't See Me Cry (Deepsky Remix)
Evanescence - Hello (G & D Trifactor Remix)
Holden & Thompson - Nothing (Vocal Remix)
"now I've got nothing to hold the falling... so how can I... survive this sinking feeling?"
Jayn Hanna - Lost Without You (Mezz Remix) -- whatever happened to her btw? She was amazing.
Led Zeppelin - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You (PQM Remix)
Lustral - Everytime (Nalin & Kane Remix)
Miro - Paradise
Mark Otten - So Serene (Menno De Jong's Heading South Dub)
Mike Shiver & Elevation - Hurricane (Elevation Mix)
Solarstone - Waterfall
Skip Raiders - Another Day (Perfecto Remix)
Solid Sessions - Janeiro
There was also a remix of the Gladiator theme that Moshic used to drop in sets that was stunning.
These shouldn't be sad, but for me they are:
Aurora - Ordinary World (Above & Beyond Mix)
Above & Beyond - Alone Tonight (at least the lyrics)
Bt - Force of Gravity (Ferry Corsten Mix)
Jan Johnston - Flesh (Tiesto Remix)
Oceanlab - Satellite (Markus Schulz Coldharbour Remix)
And for a bit more downtempo, the ambient remix of Agnelli & Nelson's Holding On To Nothing is very haunting, as is Armin van Buuren feat. Ray Wilson - Yet Another Day, which is complimented very well by Conjure One - Center of the Sun. I don't know if that is meant to be a sad song or not... but it hits me everytime.
Delerium - After All
Conjure One - Tears From The Moon (Original -- for me the Hybrid version is more angry than sad).
And probably my top five most sad trance tracks of all time...
Bossanova - Stonecold (Original Mix)
Jan Johnston - Silent Words (Lyric & Natali Mix 2) -- good god that voice after the last build.
Lustral - Broken (Way Out West Remix)
Ratty - Sunrise (Here I Am) (Club Remix)
John Creamer & Stephane K - Wish You Were Here (Deep Dish Remix)

And olddddddddddddddd hardcore tune, that I think has a sad melody (not taking the piss here either) is Chemical Love.
Holden - I Have Put Out the Lights
| quote: |
| Like the moon in the blue heavens I sit alone in my room I have put out the light And I am weeping I have weeped I have weeped Because you are so far away And because you will never know how much I love you |
Ok ,after my trance suggestions i decided that trance anyways is too happy. Here is some proper sad music (not trance though, ambient, downtempo and post-rock)
Ulrich Schnauss- "Nobody's Home"
Ulrich Schnauss- "Suddenly the Trees are giving up"
Ulrich Schnauss- "Passing-By"
Ulrich Schnauss- "A Letter from Home"
Ulrich Schnauss- "In All the Wrong Places"
Sigur Ros- the Whole "( )" album is one of the saddest albums ever written. Track-4 "Njosnavelin-the Nothing Song"..., "Fyrsta" and "Alafoss". Great ethereal post-rock but VERY melancholic.
Explosions in the Sky- "The Moon is Down" OMG...
Explosions in the Sky- "A poor man's Memory"
Explosions in the Sky- "With tired eyes, tired minds, tired souls we slept". A 12-minute epic-dramatic masterpiece.
Explosions in the Sky- "Your Hand in Mine"
Explosions in the Sky- "First Breath After Coma"
Explosions in the Sky- "Memorial"
M83- "Farewell, Goodbye" (As a reviewer in DJ mag said "Most sad tune ever written".
M83- "Lower your eyelids to die with the Sun" another 12-minute epic dramatic masterpiece.
Bola- "Effanajor" melancholic ambient at it's best. Yes ambient has a soul.
Bola- "VM8"
Bola- "Aquilla"
There are many more i have in mind.

planisphere - totem:
the breakdown is the reason why then bursts out with really great energy.
darren tate vs. jono grant - let the light shine in:
uplifting yet has a kind of tears of joy feel!
thinking of more.......
That's what I like about trance the most-there's always something that makes you feel better when you're listening to it.
