Hell of a show, first time seeing PvD in Central Park, and I'll be there every year now

Well not my first PVD show but my first SS and it was AWESOME!!! I love outdoor events, it was a concert for EDM and I loved it. I spent the first few hours right up front. Had a moment and locked eyes with PVD, very cool. Then the urge came over me and I had to head to the bathroom line. When I got there there was just one huge line for all the porta-john's. But lucky for me I meet a great guy in line right in front of me that I talked to so it made time so faster. After that horrible wait I had to sit down in the bleachers and rest from dancing and the line, plus I was dreading the wait to get my RC Cola. Eventually I sucked it up and got water and soda, thought this line wasn't so bad expect for some reason I picked the line where everyone in front of me was getting like 15 beers each. So then I went back to the bleachers to chill for a bit before heading back into the crowd, but I just couldn't do it. I spent the rest of the night on the top row of the bleachers dancing my ass off. I was great, got to see all the lights in the trees, the crowd going wild and everyone chillin outside the fence. All in all a great way to start the end of the summer. I will be back again next year. I paid $40 for my ticket and it was totally worth it.
Vtec you took a picture of Jay and I at the beginning of the night. If it came out good could you please post it? Thanks
Good weekend paying for it now at work

My two friends and I were one of the unlucky ones not to get tickets. I really didn't expect the event to be sold out. So we spent the evening just outside with about 500-1000 other people in similar situations. Paul played a great set. It was just hard to stay in the mood because the music wasn't loud enough. It's too bad we only got a taste of it.
The track of the night was - and I know it's cliched now - For An Angel. Everyone went crazy dancing in the trees. It's amazing how awesome that song sounds live. I also enjoyed:
Markus Schulz - Without You Near
U2 - Where the Streets have No Name
Freefall - Skydive
PVD - The other side
PVD -Time of Our Lives
some song Swing 2 Harmony I think
Overall - not a disaster like it could have been.

He dragged it out and looped it a lot though. But that's the intro part. And then it was basically just the original mix for the rest of the way. |
Anybody know what the cameras were for - is PVD making a video?? Just curious...

On my camera the bass kills pretty much the entire audio track with static. Thinking about using the cheap one for video and my current one for pics (cause of the zoom) |

Does anyone have pics of all the people behind the bleachers? Someone must have gotten a pic of all of us.
Also, did anyone else see a woman dancing with her baby and swinging the little girl around really hard? Strange

That's the shitty edit I did of Galvanize. Obviously, it's not exactly what we heard. And I don't have a whole bunch of crazy editing programs. I just looped a lot of it.
Here are some of my pics from that night.
;-)
I have to say it was a pain to be there taking pics and video because I was there just enjoying the moment.

Kind of a late post, but figured I'd put my 2 cents in...I definitely had a great time this year, but it's gonna be freakin difficult to surpass last year's "rain party" followed by his afterparty at Spirit. OVerall, I thought the set was decent, with some surprising highlights including AUTUMN!!! Its always nice to hear him play his older quality tunes and that don't require a male vocal to get the point across...the place was packed more than any of the previous years...and he seemed to be enjoying himself quite a bit...here are the tracks I think deserve honorable mention:
Paul van Dyk- Autumn
Chemical Brothers - Galvanize
Smith & Pledger - Northern Lights
U2 - Streets have no Name (Nu-Nrg Mix)
Giuseppe Ottaviani - Linking People

Thoroughly enjoyed my night. PvD was on decent form. Hearing him drop 'autumn' was the definite highlight nfor me after having queued half an hour for the toilet. The live PA of 'The other side' was a surprise and PvD's little additions to certain tracks with the sythn were a nice touch.
nice meeting some of you fellow TA's, hope to see youse again sometime.
WOW!!! What an awsome night. We came up from DE for our first Summerstage and had a fantastic time. Paul was amazing. We were right upfront and I had my 12 year old right next to me all night. He loved it. I met DanX and he was so nice. I was hoping to meet some more TA's but maybe next year or next PVD show in New York. I think I took some amazing pics but I will have to figure out how to post them here. I looked at all the pics and videos, they were great. After the show we went to Spirit first time there too and it was ok but after seeing PVD noone can compare.
CYA all at the next show
