Yeah. Last time they were in WC was 1986 (Mexico). Some decent players, but a string of bad luck and bad refs cost them.

Doubt Korea will for this time. Maybe round of 16. No Hiddink to lead, but they do have Dick Advocaat as manager.

Being a Dutch supporter, I can personally attest for Advocaat's inadequacies. (Sorry, Korean supporters...)

Africa is all fucked. No Nigeria, no South Africa and no one knows much about other teams, except for Ivory Coast. Drogba is going to run some defenders ragged.

ooooh boy african teams gonna rock the cup! cant wait to see ghana and togo. the way the come into this world cup reminds me of senegal and if they can put the same show... damn! and of course ivory coast has a damn strong team.
Also cant wait to see germany play, an offensive team with plenty of young flair is just something i couldnt picture when thinking about germany! if jurgen gets them more organized at the back ill put my money on them winning the cup.

I saw all of those games...bad luck and bad refs really had nothing to do with it...I think I recall one good shooting opportunity in three games...

It's weird though Canada doesnt have a better team, considering the relativly large amount of ppl playing it! Guess you will have a breakthrough soon though

Maybe if Canada starts a few MLS teams. Right now we can't keep the talent close to home. Canada also lacks a good national amateur program due to funding and the size of Canada. Soccer in Canada, is regarded by parents as a friendly alternative sport where they can place their kids, to have 'fun'. It lacks the same competiveness as hockey for this reason. The fun and safe option. Blah

You missed the one game against honduras or guatemala I think and Canada scores, but ruled out due to the other guy falling down like he's been shot when the replay shows that he didn't get touched. He goes to sideline for 'treatment' and comes back like a min later. Canada loses to a dubious penalty given at the end, ending Canada's little run and chance to qualify.

you're not the only one thinking this. canada is retarded. they have guys like atiba hutchinson playing for the national team whom i played against when he played for vaughan shooters. ok he's a good player, but when you have guys like that playing on the same level as top quality players in the world for a chance to go to world cup, it just wont happen unless we get better coaching and better players period. do not blame it on funding canada please! countries like togo dont' even have fields to play on yet they are in the world cup. and don't blame it on your division as well b/c if trinidad is in, then canada should definately be in. soccer in canada is poor, very poor, and isn't progressing at high rates. it's very slow. i play in the O and i play soccer like once a year. when i go back to europe, i can barely make the local farm team and i used to play cpsl for one full season. that just tells you what kind of level of soccer canada is at.

It's to prevent a group from having 3 European teams.

=)
I would love a rematch between Iran vs. Aus
but anyway

i think Aus will be this World cups senegal / turkey
they have the potential, esp after that dramatic win over the South americans in their qualifier
their spirits are high and that will help them out alot

serbia will be drawn into brazil, argentina or mexico's group. they can not go into the other five groups, as they are all from europe.
