Agreed!

OMG!

I was playing this song over and over again on the plane ride over to NYC. What a upfuckinglifting melody! So happy to hear it late in to the night. I was so fucking tired but that tune definitely pick my ass back up.

Loved it.

What a night!!!!!!!!!

We got there early and were like 10th in line so we got right in after standing outside for like an hour and we had no problem getting in and finding a spot. I danced all night in heels (I will never do that again) but hey they looked good, by the end of the night I was in my barefeet danceing shoes are no shoes. Was up front for a while and I think I really got some good pictures of him smiling right at my camera problem is i dont know how to download them on here. Computer illiterate At the end of the night, I waited till the end and asked paul for a picture of me and him and he said yes, so now I have a picture of him and I and sore feet and I still feel like shit and its Sunday. Took me 2 days to recouperate. But, I still cant wait till the next show. The roxy was awsome.

That was the best set I have heard by any DJ live in the last couple of years. He played like he used to back in the days of twilo.

Had the best time hanging out with everyone - Joey, Bree, Mitch, Vlad, D, Dave...u guys made the night unforgettable. Lookin forward to partyin with all u again very soon.

Big Mike and Jay(Hitokiri)...good to see u guys as well!

Then he had to DRIVE all the wayyyy back to Queens and didn't get back home till noon. and they wanted him to stay another hour! he was like 'umm...no thank you kthxbai.' ahhaha

then neither of us slept till 10pm saturday ahah. haven't done a wkend like this in awhile lol. worth it...this night PWNED us both

holy mother of GOD I was not feeling that set at ALL!

The bass was WAY too loud. Fuck's sake, I could hear the speakers reverbing; drowning out everything. And 95% of the set was tech. I mean tech is good. But break it up a bit with melody every once in a while, or play a slower tech tune. This was like being at a hardcore rave.

Your just mad that Someone did buttsecks behind you. Armin has a comment for you now:

What mix?? That track is really commerical.. Depending on what mix he played. Recently there's another mix: DJ Shog 2 Faces Mix

the back of my neck and shoulders are killin' me from bobbin' to the tunes for 6 continuous hours... from the sound of it, I'm not the only one w/ a PVD hangover

Apparantly I, alongside with Mamii, was part of the hundreds stranded outside the club who were not allowed in because of the overcapacity limit deemed by the FDNY Battalion Chief. There were complications of many sorts, which led to a delay, which in return led to the exclusion of entering the building.. all to enjoy MY number one favourite Dj, Paul van Dyk.

I was looking SO forward to November 11, 2005. I remember in the months prior to this date, I was downloading so many Live Dj Sets from Paul... and to find out he was coming back to NYC.. and BACK TO ROXY?? God I was SO EXCITED! and look what happened? It's such a bummer, it really is. Looking at all the pics, seeing a bit of the tracklisting and I knew I missed a night that wouldv'e left enjoyous memories.

Rather instead I'm scarred with the fact how poorly this event was managed in terms of ticket-sales to cover sales. Obviously this isn't DANCE VALLEY or LOVEPARADE and there are limitations to the amount of occupants allowed in a venue in a metropolitan area. Clearly ticket-holders should have been credited with priority entrance, simply the fact they have purchased advance tickets... and the intent to purchase advance tickets is to reserve right-of-entry. Cover sales in my personal opinion should have been waived, if not limited to. Clearly the amount of advance tickets should or already has been reflected to be on or about the same amount of occupants allowed in the subject venue.

Looks like I'm venting here huh? Anyways, glad that everyone had fun. Wish I was able to post a more "happier" post and share my two cents on last night's event.

PvD, you rock!

On a serious note, sorry to hear about this - but unfortunately that's not the first time this has happened. Those that were sadly exposed to this before knew that they had to get to the club early.

We got there relatively early: 11:30PM and managed to get in. But once I stepped into the club, I knew that the rest of the folks outside would have a slim-to-none chance to get in.

I would have figured Made would have learned their lesson last time around. But for the 2nd time????????

c'mon - they're not amatures - they know the score and should have forseen this. Obviously not.

hope you get more than "sorry, here's your money back"

ok so i'm a known house-head
i gave pvd up a while back
people have seen and heard my disappoinment in pvd lately

but despite all of that...

HE FUCKING RIPPED IT! i've seen pvd like 30 times or something and friday night was in the top 5 of all time, if not THE best. there was not one block of time when he played tracks i didn't like. the full six hours was banging and i had room to dance all night. yes, it was hot but that has nothing to do with pvd and how great he was. he pulled out all the stops on friday. he played what HE wanted to play, fuck the masses. he did it like only HE can and he had fun up there. Even Natasha was smiling and having fun. it was great. i loved every minute and i felt like i had stepped back in time.

it was awesome seeing old faces from TA and newbies as well. i can't express how much fun i had and how special friday night was for me.

thank you all and thank you pvd! he really is the number one dj.

ok but he should have played circa forever. yet i forgive him for that. actually, i did think the encore was lacking. but his amazing set made up for the encore so i am not complaining.

and i was sober all night. for trance to move me these days, especially when i am sober, is nearly impossible. it was incredible.

I guess taking off your fake versace shirt to expose your hairles slimy jelly flesh isn't enough to show your machismo. so you have to start shit... damn...or perhaps it's triggered by the flashbacks of container ride to this country.

little ignorant arent we?

im asian and i dont start fights and i was born here. didnt come over in any container ship.
and i also recall big guido looking dudes taking their shirts off too who were fat and nasty pushin poeple aside like they owned the place.

but either way i know what u trying to say. just could have put it another way. i dont appreciate the fobs there ruining my vibe but the behavior isnt limited to them.

Thank G-d for small mercies - if he played it, I missed it!I hate that song with passion, having heard it in almost every pvd set for the last 4 or so years.

Yes, the night was definitely different. He did stay on a techie side more, I guess that's NYC feedback for you - they love their shit hard. I liked it, even tho I'm not big on tech. somehow it worked.

the sound system was kick-ass, don't care what one nimwit says. track selection also was pretty right-on. Pvd can definitely read his crowd. I had a great time but I am paying for it in more than one way now. every single bone in my body hurts - most from dancing, the rest from crashing on the floor when I got home. slept for 10 hours on hardwood floor - now I am like a cripple, can't move.

energy and vibe in the place was fantastic - people were just amazing. I don't care what you say. yes, it was a bit disturbing to see sooooo many half-naked people. what pisses me off is that ladies get hot too, how come none of them take their tops of?? that's just unfair and SEXIST! Ladies, I demand you take matters into your own hands. next time, you're at even like this and you get hot - take your top off and dance half naked. trust me - no one will judge you poorly, even if you got flapjack titties, mosquito bites, or waterbags - we don't care, as long as they are there.

thank you.

Hm. sorry, I'm just a bit ticked off... hate the feeling of sweaty slimy body of someone I don't know being smothered all over me. I didn't see nearly as many meatheads halfnaked as I saw asians - hence my generalization. sorry.

i wont really go on and on about how i wasnt feeling his set friday since 98% of everyone in this thread here loved what he played. all i know is that from the first time i saw pvd at factory in march of 02 till his summerstage gig of 04 i enjoyed all of his shows he put on....i dont know what has happened with his style.

listen to the recording of the nov roxy gig in 03 (which was floating around for a while) and compare it to the other night and it just isnt even close. with the exception of from 4-6 am that night in 03, the other 4 hours were fierce intense melodic speedy trance. i just dont get into what he is doing these days. thankfully armin has compensated for that with his shows this year in nyc.

so while i am happy that almost all of you enjoyed his set friday i cant agree with the notion that it wa his best set of all time around these parts. bring back the 02-03 pvd....please.

um... there's more to djing than playing one melodic trance track after another. i really appreciate the fact that pvd switches up styles so much. i mean, even armin recently has been trying to bring in some variety to his sets. if you ever listen to any pvd interview or read his conversations he always stresses that he is an "EDM" dj, not a trance dj, because he never simply spins just trance. thats just not his style.

yah i hear that it's a few asian gangs that fight each other in the clubs.. always the same people.. the same ones that brought knives to pvd on new years eve. but that's just what i heard.. note: not a generalization
