OH NO Perasma caught up! z0mg! Someone must have created a bunch of alts to even out the scores... that's it, there's no way people just voted for it... I'm guessing that it's Toffy and Indus....

nice congrats Perasma.1st greek tune that wins the poll.
It is not 2005 tho.

Perasma is a fair winner.

All rounds:

Perasma : 95 votes, 70 votes, 71 votes.

Silent Waves : 53 votes, 46 votes, 69 votes.

Not only that, it needed 4 days to get 1st position instead of those 5 minutes in which Silent Waves got 10-12 votes on monday when both tracks where equaled.

For me just Without you could have been 1st instead of Perasma, is a pity.

Then, coongratz Perasma.

I think Swing 2 Harmony is a fair winner. Of course everyone will think there are tracks far better, but most everyone liked it. (RJT excepted )

Arrow On a side note

On a side note, i would like to mention that Silent Wave is a good track - i never for once said it was bad or anything.

And i would also like to believe many a passionate supporters of Pryda - Aftermath when they say that the track brings the house down and sounds different on a dance floor than in the confines of one's shelter.

I played them both a few times over when they made it to the final-8. I have two CDJs and a 400 Watt stereo system along with a 2-Channel mixer. I played them at different settings too. Just wanted to be sure.

I often drive from Tampa to Miami on the weekends and on those long drives, i usually keep a lot of CDs, often filled with tracks recommended by TAs in different threads (Thank You guys) and if i am tempted to play a song again and again, i know its good.

That is one reason why i was surprised to see "A Tear In The Open (Leama and Moor Mix)", "Air For Life" and "I Found You" miss the cut. And was also surprised to see Tilt-Twelve and Kuffdam and Plant - Summer dream poll so less votes. Even Love Theme Dusk should've polled more than what it did.

I would've loved to see a fight between "Without You", "Love Theme Dusk", "Air For Life", "I Found You", "Summer dream", "A Tear In The Open" and "Swing 2 harmony". Just my thoughts.

Is still true... So I guess when it comes down to it, if people REALLY wanted to play fair, Perasma wouldn't have been involved at all, now would it?

You Trance-Crackers and your Cheese crack me up...

Man, let's be serious. The people in TA has nominated these tracks. If Perasma was in this poll was cause people choice. And if Perasma has won is again cause people wanted it to won, without tricks or double accounts like with Silent Waves.

Other term of discussion is to which year a track belong. If we talk about when it was relled, Perasma has been released in 2005 except for the Ultra release (December 2004). If we talk about when they appeared, Summer Dream should be in a "some years ago" poll.

And man, I dont understand you. You just wanted Silent Waves to win Perasma in the poll, not cause you really thought it deserved to win. In that case, i dont understand a phrase in your post like "You Trance-Crackers and your Cheese crack me up", cause Silent Waves is mainly..trance.

"Silent Waves" is one of TWO trance tracks released this year that I thought were genuinely good trance, the other being the Ljungqvist remix of "Space Guitar." I like the track, a lot, and a big part of it is because it's not the epitome of standard cheese...

Saying "Swing 2 Harmony" was the Trance track of the year is like saying McDonalds has the worlds greatest hamburgers...

And as far as release, just because something gets a re-release years later doesn't mean that's the year it was released, if it was, Strange World, My Lexicon, Children, etc. would be eligible to win every year...

Bottom line is that I think voting for this track as TOTY speaks volumes about the "State of Trance" right now (pun not intended), and is a PRIME example of why myself and many others are briskly moving away from this type of EDM...

As you will never agree with me i stop here, i wont waste my time. Only that..

Hi:

Hard to believe that a producer himself read this thread. I'm no here to fawn anyone, but Silent Wave is just great. That's where my vote went to.

By the way (as a Bedroom dj) I can not help mixing Castamara after SW everytime.

BTW, does someone knows any other producer reading this?

AGREE.
For next year TOTY, I'd say people registered after September must not me allowed to vote.

Sorry for the spam, I've just realized messages can not be edited.

I'm not bashing those people in charge of this poll, becasue I know it was a hard work reading all posts to get the final 16, and everything else. We all here thank you, at least I do honestly.

But,

I think those round-polls idea did not work.

Why not just do a single 16tracks poll, all over January?

Why not do it now?

Many here would be glad if someone make that post. I think normal users can't, so we need an admin to do so.

Let's do it.

IMO, that's what is known as "sheepish grin" when caught pants down.

I did get a good laugh though, even before this "defensive" post came up.

Thanks for the laugh.

Meh... I still stand by my opinion that not only can utterly shit tracks sound good when dropped in the right sets/right times (see post in MD), but also that opinions change and become more refined with time...

And yes, sometimes the best defense is a good offense... that, and I don't have time to search for everyone else' most embarassing thread moments...

Sorry, but an utterly shit track will sound what precisely it is, an utter shit, regardless of what time it is dropped. The timing can only change the preception from Okay to Good or Okay to Fantastic, but never from an utter-trash to fantastic. Atleast it never happens with me.

That's your opinion and that's fine, but I disagree completely.

I've had tracks that I've HATED initially and grown to love and vice versa, and in fact, think it's a pretty common occurance.

Hating is different from a track being bad. I have hated some tracks in the past because i thought they destroyed the original which were so good. Doesn't meant they were bad tracks. It's just that there were raesons for me to dislike them.

In my opinion, loving and hating a track is slightly different from calling a track good or bad. I often listen to tracks i dislike, if only to see if they have something good in them since there are so many people liking them.
