I don't think I have the 15th of July, thats usually the most popular month of baseball, i took some early one tickets and alot of august tickets.

As for MO blowing saves, me personally, I think he's a destined HOFer I mean maybe he's blowing saves because he's been doing what he's already done...bring the heat and break bats. Sooner or later your fastball won't be fast enough and hitters will start hitting you. That's what happens you can't deny that.

Jeff Nelson attributed to MO's effectiveness in the early hay-days when the yankees did their thing.

Ticketsnow have hiked prices, but if you do the amex promo, you get $100 gift card. It's real, I did it and so did my boy. Got amazing seats for half their normal cost.

11 years Mo's been alive and kicking...hard. You gotta respect his numbers, and he can't get EVERY single save (although he tries), but no player lasts forever.

I'm saying that because Ted Williams was great from the first day of his career till the last day. But that's pretty funny that you caught that. As for Joe DiMaggio compared to Williams... there is no comparison. Ted Williams is the 2nd best hitter of all time. And Joe isn't first.

The Clipper was great, but I think Ted Williams is better and he gets alot of bad press from New Yorkers cause he was a Red Sox - pretty lame way to look at it.

** Keep in mind that Ted Williams crushed his elbow in 1950, which resurfaced in 1951 and got called up to active duty in the Korean War in 1952. His WORST hitting season he hit .317 - which is incredible.

What is this going by? Going by OPS+, Barry should be 3rd on that list.

I got it from Baseball Guru, who got it from baseball reference. They measured it by a combination of... BPR (batter proficiency rating), .01% of RC (run production), and CPT (career proficiency total)

Yeah... but I've seen all of his starts last year and this. And he just doesn't look awesome like he used to. His first half last year had the makings of a legendary season. Better than his 2000 (as I've said before, best single season pitching performance EVER). But he couldn't keep it up. And, so far this year, he looks like he's right where he left off last year. Which is good/great... but unspectacular. Which is why I think this will be his last great year. Next year, probably like his '04 and slightly above average. And then... bleh.

Pecota's projection has him pitching the 07 and 08 seasons with sub 3.2 ERA and sub 1.1 WHIP... after that its in the 3.7-3.9 with a 1.2 WHIP.

PECOTA is not taking into account his loss of stuff. It just goes by comparable pitchers up till now and Pedro's own stats. Trust me, I hope it's right. I just don't see it happening.

His stuff rating is 30 for the '07 and '08 seasons... '09 its down to 20, '10 its at 18.

You know what, if he falls off as a starter... a team could really cash in big if they could try to use him as a closer. A pitcher like that doesnt necessarily loose stuff, but he just looses the strength and energy to pitch 7 innings per, so as a closer I think he could handle throwing 95 for 1 inning.

He tops out at 89 MPH now. 3 years ago, he was at 97. That's a lot of "stuff" to lose.

Again... PECOTA goes only by comparables. I'm guessing his comparables are Johnson, Gibson, Seaver, Koufax...
