Liam, he's saying the TARGET AUDIENCE for the club are those people that want to be with the "in" crowd and be at the "in" venue, TiL is (and was previously) considered by those that frequented it that type of club. Why would management who had taken over change any of this by changing dress code or who they let in? Age is another matter entirely, it should be ONE limit and they should NOT change it whenever they feel it's necessary as that is just retarded. I don't mind going, been there 2x, once before and once after the new owners had taken over, it was fun, not amazing but I had a good time, the only thing is if I go back I will get there super early and make sure I'm dressed appropriately.

well from the poll so far, it seems like theres a near even ratio of people that will go back to those who wont. few more for those going back...

i love stat numbers

Sure, I just don't understand why they would do that. The DJs they bring in are attracting a fair number of people from the EDM scene in addition to their regular Sat crowd.

I guess they might get a fair number of the edm crowd, but I don't think they'd have any problems filling the spots of the edm crowd if they didn't have the big names. So what is the justification for getting a well known dj who will only be truly appreciated by the EDM crowd, when you can simply get a less expensive DJ and fill the EDM crowd with the others. You still have the same number of people.

Basically if you're going to pay the money to attract the edm crowd, then do that and don't discriminate on age / clothes. You attracted people there for the music, now let them in to enjoy the music.

Or do both in TILs case, but you're targeting a relatively small audience compared to if you were to go one way or another.

Big Ears

You have to remember as well that there are lots of people out there that love EDM but do not necessarily fit into the EDM crowd classification as you define it...those are the people that would love to go to listen to a famous DJ at the Guv for example, but would hate the experience cause they'd think it's a sketchty place. You'd often see these people at the Drink and Skybar, or even Hotel...they want to listen to great house music, but want a classier venue...there's a huge market for that kind of place

I'm personally kind of impartial abou the the whole thing because I love going to the Guv, and at the same time I love getting dressed up and partying at the fancy venues

im not gonna repeat myself but you have to understand that it doesnt matter to the owners that EDM people dont get in. If you want to get in, go to guv.
the money diference that TIL is losing by bringing inernational djs is minimal, plus i dont think they are losing, they are probably making more money instead. If 2 groups of people get bottle service then there is your money diference on a DJ. They have alimited capacity and they want all those people to be good looking crowd.
if they didnt bring international dj's then the club would like any other club with house music. They stand out, they want to be known on an international level + international djs bring more people to the club.
hopefully this answered your question

Actually it did answer my question. I don't think my view/opion is definitive I was just trying to communicate clearly how I saw it and get a bit of discussion/clarifcation.

Wasn't there some sort of conflict on Friday where they suddenly changed it to 23 in the middle of the night?

I thought it was about people's opinions on TiL...b/c I voiced mine and it didn't have anything to do with age restriction changing

- its not dirty like system was and the club is nice and clean.
- there are no glowsticks allowed.
- girls actually go there and its not a complete sausage fest.
- they book good talent.
- its an older crowd.
- people actually make an effort in trying to look good when they go there.

i dunno ... there are way too many things to hate about the place haha!
