I have a few surprises up my sleeve for this set... some really really cool ones!!
May 12 -- Boo yah!
I'm not sure I should ever bother to reply cause I will be called a troll or what ever.
I said good luck because with what I had seen from the night before it is hard to get a crowd in room for an international what hope do locals have.
On Friday night I heard to guys have a conversation and say "who the fuck are these guys." Scott Bateman and Steve Strangis were playing at the time.
I don't think anybody cares about trance anymore. I thik regular punters are only going to see the big name DJ's. I have always loved trance and I am finding it hard to get excited and pumped up by what I am being told is trance. The punters who were there 2, 3 odd years ago. I think a lot of them have grown up and drifted away from being in the know and when they think "I'll just go out to this night" and realise it is not what it used to be.
I'll be honest, I was shocked by what I was hearing Scott and Steve playing. It seemed waaay to hard for the time they were playing. I may have lost touch, I may be too old but it does't seem like music like that will have people getting really excited and convincing their half-hearted mates that this is the shit to dance to.
I have been a wanker on these forums I will agree but it is mostly in jest and sometimes some of you need a stir up I believe. I know some of you don't like me because I hear about the way you talk about me. I just wish you would tell me to my face instead of being so nice to me. If I hurt your feelings tell me. JPL and I used to have a good relationship like this and it seemed to work.
Oh and nobody say bad shit about my wife because kam will get you, as it has bitten me back.
Dude - as philbz has said - irl u are a nice guy. thing u gota remember is that people cannot see ur face or hear your tone of voice on the innernet.
sometimes the stuff u says doesnt make sense - u always tell me that trance isnt prog and prog sux blah blah and then steve and scott play a trance set at a trance night and u say its too hard??
its just funny little things like that that piss people off.
now on with the show - Obsession (:
Dr P it seems like you do it for a reaction. You like to hang yourself out to dry in public! Like a public self execution
I dont believe in sugar coating everything either but you say things in a way that can only been taken as rude. You are dealing with artists and egos (I mean that in a nice way) on these forums and you calling them names isnt going to go down well.
i reckon DJs have gotta take a sip from the hard nut cup and not take everything so fvcking personally. i mean shit, how many DJs are out there that *we* dont like? so someone doesnt like what youre doing, really, why give a fuck? and there might be something you can learn from negative feedback. and if someone is just being an arseclown, is it that big a deal?
love what you play and play what you love & hope there are some people out there that enjoy what youre doing. if not, big deal. apparently there were a few DJ nay-sayers at my first gig, and i really couldnt give two shits. i was just happy to be there
i do love the P v begic spats tho

lol @ this thread.
ok im a bit more sober now hehe
i guess its not fair to compare the two nights, i think what i was getting at was that in a place like room it seems if you dont have a big crowd the atmosphere isnt as good and its more obvious because its a bigger place. i dont really know what you can do to get more numbers though. i think it would be great to have our own superclub kinda thing but maybe here and now is not the time and place, but who knows with trends and fads these days. keep trying though
ill be there
You are all missing the point. You know how to get more numbers

Asking us how to get more numbers is not really going to help as we are all from the same group. I am not sure if booking all DJs that pretty much run in the same circles is going to help though.
Tickled Pink recently booked Aaron Roach, Derricjk Dennis & Dean Millson to play in their vs night, these people are all old friends from the same social group...and the numbers were pretty low (mind you a quality showing of music).
Maybe unless you are willing to sacrifice some of your music ie. have some house or electro you are just going to have to be happy with the numbers you have? I am unsure of any club night that manages an average of 400 or so people?
Where are all of those kids from Vodafone Arena?? Surely they arent just there for the name? are they?
