yeah well....I'm sorry, but I can't get excited over fucking CAROLINA winning the Stanley Cup. So when Recchi, Brindamour, Wesley and Doug Weight all retire and they start to suck, let's see how full the building is. But this Cup at least saved Carolina from moving to Winnipeg or Las Vegas for the next half decade.

The Curse of the 1993 Montreal Canadiens lives on I guess.

A curse? why would you consider it a curse?

no, I was just throwing out the phrase. I guess what I was getting at is that Montreal is the NHL"s most successful team and obviously Canada's....and they were the last Canadian team to win it. With all those crazy OT wins (11 wins of 16 victoriesin OT, 10 straight throughout the playoffs in 93), maybe they used up all of Canada's luck! ANyway, I"m full of crap. Both Edmonton and Calgary really had a shot the last two seasons to bring it home.

To keep this thread going I'm writing something...the New York Rangers are playing the Florida Panthers in sunny San Juan, Puerto Rico during the pre-season, which will be the first NHL game of any kind in Puerto Rico.

does anyone even read this thread?

anyway, evgeni malkin made a great escape from his russian club and is in hiding . he'll be in the nhl this year and i wonder if the pens will go with two top lines (1a and 1b) or move one to a winger? at times like this it makes sense that they keep gonchar despite his crazy salary and lack of success.
