Ok, maybe this has been asked... but is there a plow on the TA float?

Ok, I just put "plow" into the translater and it came up with something I would best describe as some metal piece you put in front a car that you want to move aways snow with...

I hope I`m not making a fool out of myself now, but I assume you mean: How is a truck / float going to steer through so many people without hurting anyone? Here`s the answer:

There is always security around the float that holds a rope. This rope guaranties that noone get close than 2 meters on the sides and about 4-5 meter at the front and the back of the truck.

Other than that, I can only say, that the detailed concept on how the truck will look like etc. will be done together with the sponsor after you get a starting slot for the parade, so the planning for this will not begin before mid May.

I have voted. Let's hope that I can find a way to go to LP this year.

The rate shows 180EUR per night when I tried to reserve? I'm already booked at the Berlin Ibis Mitte for 65EUR per night, so looks like I will be staying there!

Update: I am staying longer in Berlin to do some sightseeing before the Love Parade. When I entered arrival 11 July for 6 nights, the rate came up 180EUR for the first night, 49EUR for the other five. When I entered arrival 12 July for 5 nights, the rate came up 49EUR for each night!

I have a reservation booked at the Ibis Mitte arriving 11 July for 6 nights, so could change it to only one night (11 July) and then switch to the Quentin. A lot of people suggested staying in Mitte, so that's why I picked the Ibis though.

Any thoughts on which hotel is better? I wonder if it's worth staying in the Ibis for one night and then switching to the other hotel, or just keeping my current reservation (but now the Ibis turns out to be more expensive!)

most likely because of the WorldCup Finals... all hotels beefed up their standard rates, as usual...

tough one. Both are good for sightseeing in Berlin. Maybe the Ibis is in a better location for former eastern Berlin, the Quentin more for former west Berlin.

The Dutch TAs will most likely be at the Ibis Mitte (jp and co), some of the German TAs will stay at the Quentin.

You should be ok at both. Quality-wise: same same, 3-Star-Quality, it is not a night in Paris, but ok.

Well, I've stayed a night in Paris before, and actually these hotels look better than mine did! I have reservations at both now (but one night less at the Quentin), just need to decide which one to keep and then cancel the other before I go. Switching hotels after unpacking isn't my favorite thing to do, but saving 75EUR is an attractive option. Guess it's nice to have these kind of choices!

Here are some reviews for others like me who can't decide:
