Cool ok heres one for ya :

Mickeymarley comes from a kids ride in Belfast in the North of Ireland. You used to pay 10p to get a spin on mickey marleys roundabout. Think he towed it with a donkey from memory. Anyways mickey is now dead (I presume) he was atleast 90 first time I done a full circulation many years ago. It wasnt no disney world, but for belfast in the hard old days it was the dogs balls.

Im not expectin anyone here to find the humour in it, but if I say to someone from Belfast do you remember mickey marleys roundabout theres a possibility they could piss themselves laughing.

Ahh good old Wikipedia, probably the only page on the net with Mickey info :

Mickey Marley (?? - 28 April 2005) was a street entertainer from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Born in the Markets area of Belfast but spending most of his life on the Grosvenor Road in the Falls area of west Belfast, Marley was a common sight in Belfast City Centre for over forty years.

Mickey's roundabout on Belfast's Donegall PlaceDrawn by his horse Joey, Marley would tour the streets of Belfast with his hobby-horse roundabout.

When he retired in 1983 he sold the roundabout to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum.

His local fame was greatly enhanced by a recording of the song "Mickey Marley's Roundabout" (written by Belfastman Seamus Robinson) which was a popular children's request on BBC Radio Ulster, as well as a BBC Northern Ireland documentary on his life.

The chorus of Mickey Marley's Roundabout is:

Round and round and up and down,

Through the streets of Belfast town,

All the children laugh and shout,

Here comes Mickey's Roundabout.

So thats all join together and.....

Round and round and up and down,

Through the streets of Belfast town,

All the children laugh and shout,

Here comes Mickey's Roundabout

THERESA

Gender: Feminine

Usage: English

Pronounced: te-RAY-sa, te-REE-sa [key]
From the Spanish and Portuguese name Teresa. The meaning is uncertain, but it could be derived from Greek θερος (theros) "summer", from Greek θεριζω (therizo) "to harvest", or from the name of the Greek island of Thera (the main island of Santorini). A famous bearer was Maria Theresa, an Austrian Habsburg queen of the 18th century. She inherited the domains of her father, Charles VI, the Holy Roman Emperor, which began the War of the Austrian Succession.

OR commonly known as

Harvester.

(Blowin through my mind) and all the while I think of you
(High fry) a very strange reaction
(For us to unwind) the more I see, the more I do
(Something like a phenomenon) Baby!

From Crime and Punishment, by Fyodor Dostoevsky:

quote:
Part 4, Chapter 1: Luzhin is sobered by yesterday's events with Dunia. He and his roommate, Lebeziatnikov, who is a simple-minded and extremely idealistic socialist, have grown to dislike one another. They discuss current political and social topics, while Luzhin counts his money on a table. Sonia is mentioned and Luzhin suddenly brightens and says he would like to meet her. When she is brought in, he asks her questions about her family's financial situation and discusses the possibility of holding some sort of lottery in Katherine's benefit. As she leaves, Luzhin gives Sonia a ten-ruble note. Afterwards, Lebeziatnikov warmly tells him that he SAW everything.

I guess I was feeling particularly simple-minded or socialist or something. But seriously, it's just fun to try and say out loud. That and I can't spell.
