anyway it's always crap to see someone injured that badly.
i say hes part of the backbone of the team... its like zidan.. hes not the best in the team, but he is the backbone.

3-1. France had a ton of difficulties to win, things only improved after Ribery came in. That guy really made the difference.

Watch the owngoal by the chinese defender, it's fucking hilarious.

Every time I hear his name everyone is really amazed with this player. Even Henry said he could make the difference at the WC. So can ANYONE tell me why always comes in with only 15 mins to play?? How big is the chance that he will start in a WC game? I'm really looking forward to see him play

I guess Giuly fucked up his own chances. He was really made after he wasn't selected and said he went on holiday now and didn't wanted to be selected if somebody fell injured

but maybe domenec (is it spelled correctly like this ?) wouldn't have selected him anyhow. BIG mistake I think because he's a great player and they could really use him ...

Guily, Pires and Micoud aren't in the list. Domenech () prefer Dhorasoo :/

Posted by The_G0dfather on Jun-08-2006 23:09:

Ah didnt, know that. He's right though, Giuly, he probably feels that he should have been selected in the first place and had every reason to state that he didnt wanna be a second option.

and what's the story about Pires and Micoud?

I heard something about Pires on the news a while back, but my memory is failing on me at the moment. He wasn't selected because he arranged some prostitutes for some teammates in the hotel before a crucial match (or something like this)?

Korea 1-2 Togo
France 1-0 Switzerland

It's all about motivation

It's all about motivation. In 2002, France and Portugal got knocked out because they thought they could roll into the round of 16 with ease. There is no easy win in the World Cup anymore. Teams from Africa, Asia and Americas (excluding the South America) used to be the sure way to ensure 3 points, but those days are long gone.

Some of you guys say how the refs were bribed and all. If you have the teams to reach the round of 4, you better beat the teams like Korea with convincing manner, regardless. The only team on this planet that can ease into the final year in and year out is Brazil in my opinion, and they do get knocked out time to time.

The Koreans had their advantage. They did not have players in the big leagues and ended the Korean league early that year and trained the shit out of the national team. They were fresh compared to the rest of the world coming off from a long season. Koreans don't have that kind of advantage this year, and it would be very interesting to see how they fair this year.

The main question is for the managers. How are you going to motivate the boys. There are lots of hungry talents from unknown countries who want to prove to the scouters that they belong in the big leagues. It's really hard to motivate players with million dollar contracts. Look at the US Basketball team! The survivor of this group will be the teams that attack the pitch with the urgency. That's why you can't count the Togo and Korea out of this tournament just yet! I can't wait to see which teams will advance!!!

They had some problems with Domenech, they seriously criticized him in the press.

Pires fucked Domenech's wife.

Yeah, we still have pongolle, fowler, mellor and crouch though. It's not too much of a crisis. Here's the leg break if anybody's interested:

Well nasty.
