Although this is something I fight against, I've always noticed that religious people seem to be quite "unreligious" when it comes to sex, almost as if being religious was an excuse for being a full-time "sinner".

Yes, I waited for the "one" - and got kinky with her after I did

Damn Lira, thats some self control, esp with those hotty Brazilian women.

like I said, she is not going to be so sheltered that she wont know what a boy is. Im not that stupid. She will have a social life including boys and shell be allowed to have boyfriends and all that. this isnt about trying to keep her a virginI was just pointing out that during the week in school, she should be there to learn, not to have the coolest outfit, the latest gossip, a boyfriend walking her to every class where they make out, etcthats not school, thats a social lifeand sadly, thats how it is in public schools.

Just because shell go to an all girls school, doesnt mean its going to be out in some isolated area where shell never see a boy or anything like that. Trust me, I know I havent exactly been an angel, but I have the right idea about raising kids for some reason. Im not too strict, but Im principled and Im not going to have some typical, disrespectful slutty and/or badass daughter or son. My kids arent going to have their own TVs with cable/Tivo, a cell phone, a laptop, a brand new car, etctheyre not going to be 14 years old with their own internet access and myspace pages for perverts to look at. just stuff like that, i am strict on because i know how i was and what i was exposed to. i dont think i'm going to be able to keep my kids from doing things like trying pot and having sex though. i will keep a good enough relationship with them to where they will feel comfortable coming to me with certain issues, like my mom was with me. when i lost my virginity, i told her, and she put me on birth control right away without yelling at me or anything. she lectured a little bit about safe sex and stuff, but that was it. that's how i want to be with my daughter.

Growing up I remember tons of girls that went to private schools, all girls school or even religious schools and most of them were sluts. Due to the fact that they were so deprived of boys they rebelled by fucking LOTS of em.
They only pretended to be perfect and innocent to they're parents.

Then you also have the case of the spoiled rich kids in those types of schools that think they can do whatever they want (those kids usually get the BEST drugs).

i agree.

i went to a public school in a pretty poor community, and didn't even touch drugs until after i graduated and started hanging out with rich kids at my friend's college. i was a pretty tame girl... i mean i was no angel, i got into my fair share of trouble, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the things i heard about from my friends at private schools.

if was going to have kids, i would be a pretty leniant parent. i think the more restrictions you put on a child, the more they want to rebel. my mom was very leniant with me and let me have a LOT of freedom when i was young. she was very open and straightforward with me about what is right and wrong, and ever since i was a very little kid she educated me to always be able to make my own decisions. she put a lot of trust in me instead of putting rules and restrictions on everything i do, and in return, i repaid her by being a smart and responsible kid. i knew that if i betrayed her trust, she wouldn't let me have as much freedom as i had, and i didn't want to lose that freedom.

granted not everyone can be raised like that... but it seemed to work fine for my family.

a perfect example of too much structure would be my cousin. her parents were so strict that they held her back a grade because they thought she wasn't ready for high school, she was never allowed to go to parties or go out with boys, she had a very strict curfew, and basically just didn't have any freedom... then when she went away to college, within her first semester she had experimented with a few different drugs, had sex with multiple partners including a three-some with her roommate, and got drunk almost every single night.

The parts of this thread that were about me getting some buttseckz later tonight were terrific, I don't know how I missed this all!

Every day when browsing news sites, it seems, I run across articles or op-eds or columnists who express shock at the possibility of teens having sex, and even some syndicated psychologists dishing out advice consider this behavior "marginal" or unusual. Just like most parents who consider it unlikely and weird.

Yet, it seems, most people lose their virginity at 16? Where's this disconnect coming from? Looks like there's some major gap in acknowledging reality, or actually it is true that few teens are sexually active at 14-15, and therefore it is indeed an "alternative" lifestyle?

what kinda lame-ass shit? nobody cares columnists. we're talking about butt-sex here, hop on the bandwagon buddy.

jfwy. but really nobody cares about who frowns upon what.

Hehe, I've always believed that clicking with "the one" would be more satisfying than having it with girls I didn't care about that much

I don't regret having waited and, if I didn't meet my girlfriend, I wouldn't mind waiting longer.

edit: "Alive 1997" rocks!

No kids.

You better not have stopped taking the pill on me, if so, you better get ready for a plenty of anal penetration

yea i agree with a lot of what you're saying too. i definitely won't be forbidding my kids to do anything because that usually just makes them want to rebel. the only thing i'm going to be strict about is school.

also, u guys are confusing "private schools" with same sex schools. yea, i knew a ton of rich spoiled pothead kids who went to private catholic schools too. i think there's a bit of a difference with the same sex ones. there's just not that distraction of the opposite sex at a place for learning and i think that's important. all that stuff is for the weekends, which i wont have a problem with, but at the same time, there will be ground rules n stuff.

ideally, i'd like my husband and me to be the parents who are pretty easy going and laid back, and i will definitely be the "party house", meaning my kids can throw parties whenever, or have sleepovers whenever, as long as i'm there, but i'll be in my room with my husband to give them privacy...stuff like that.

I dont understand this mentality. Don't you trust that if your children are intelligent and you teach them to make good decisions, and to appreciate what they have so they dont become spoiled and irresponible that they will have better judgement in life than those who are sheltered (I know you said you aren't going to shelter them, but for lack of a better word I'll say 'sheltered') and will probably go do the 'wrong' thing to the extreme because of it?

yeah that's how my mom raised me... she said she can't stop me from drinking, so if i wanted to have a little party, she'd rather i do it in the safety of our home rather than driving somewhere or being out where she doesn't know i'm safe. she's still the same way with my brother since he's only 19. he's allowed to throw parties with alcohol when he's home from college, but she makes all the kids give up their car keys and spend the night.

lol i dont understand why you are having such difficulty in understanding that i am simply talking about excluding certain distractions from my childrens' education by sending them to a same sex school...not keeping them locked in a basement.
