.. and how Beckham and Terry crying, due to injury and elimination respectively, do not give them the crybaby status Ronaldo apparently has earned. Double standarts? |

Rooney was not sent off for the kick to the balls. It wasn't even a kick. He was off balance after being pushed and tugged by two POrtuguese players and went to stabilise himself. He wasn't even FACING Carvalho, how could he place a kick like that? It was an accident and if the ref had indeed seen that play and judged it to be intentional, he would have instantly pulled out the red. The red only came out after Ronaldo stuck his ****** face in there and started moaning and then Rooney shoved him. That is what got Rooney sent off, but of course everybody will say that it was the "deliberate" kick to the crotch. I noticed Carvalho got up pretty quick after that. ARe you so biased that you cannot see every time a Portuguese player is touched, they go down with arms flailing and whine and bitch to the referee? It's not just me saying this, it's everyone watching that game from a neutral standpoint. Your team is hated worldwide for their antics and the sooner they are crushed out of this tournament, the better off football will be.
Anyways... we lost, I'm too disappointed and shocked to say anything partially objective about the game.
Only thing I do have to say, I hope Real Madrid NEVER signs Christiano Ronaldo... I can think of so many insults right now, so I'll just save my time, I just hope he never gets to Madrid

smitty, shut the fuck up.
Rooney deserved red a card for his stamp. It doesnt matter if he technically got it for the push. He deserved to be off the pitch, and he was rightfully send off.
Also, watch the match again and have a look at how joe cole re-acts when he is tackled and then come back and pretend england are sch honest footballers. Not remeber gerrards dive for the penalty in the friendly before the world cup?
Some things never change. England haters justify everything that goes against England, England fans moan about everything that goes against them. I'm frustrated and angry as fuck, because England never seem to be BEATEN fair and square, but always have controversial calls against them, calls not be called FOR them or lose on the contrived system of penalties to solve a game, for which the only excuse is that they are shite on them.
I'm immensely proud of this England squad for sticking in today like they did and I believe they deserved better. But there is no other way to solve games in competitions like this and until they get over this mental barrier about penalties, they will have to win in regular time. This match could have gone either way.
Honestly...what about that handball? These calls never seem to be called for England, but shite calls always go for Italy like against Australia.
Well whatever...Portugal isn't going to steal another game in this World Cup.

think this article on the bbc website by terry butcher sums up alot about england & sven:
| quote: |
| Sven-Goran Eriksson has left his job as England coach after five-and-a-half years in charge - and we are no further forward than when he was appointed. He has reached three quarter-finals in two World Cups and a European Championship, and that is nowhere near the standard we should be achieving with the so-called "Golden Generation" of players coming through. England and the Football Association have created a massive bubble that we all have to move around in and it is completely false. Why should we be proud of the fact that we have one star on our shirt representing the fact that we reached one World Cup final 40 years ago? We have become all Billy Big Time and become too big for our boots, and yet we have got nothing to shout about Other countries have two or three stars to signify their World Cup achievements and both Germany and France have the power to add another in Germany. It is embarrassing. We have only ever been in one final and two semi-finals. How can we justify calling ourselves a world football power when we are not? We have become all Billy Big Time and become too big for our boots, and yet we have got nothing to shout about because we have done nothing. This is what annoys me. We have no right to be as confident or arrogant about our football as we are. It has been not been anywhere near good enough. And sadly, Eriksson has not taken us on to the next level. He has never come up with a blend in midfield that can take us forward. Our back four has been terrific, but there seems to be a dearth of forward talent after Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen. Eriksson has also shied away from the big decisions. Everyone knows my view on David Beckham and the fact that I felt he should have been dropped during this World Cup. I am not, despite what people have said, anti-Beckham. I just don't subscribe to the theory that you play your so-called best players without question. Sometimes you need to get the best blend. Beckham has received plenty of criticism during this World Cup It's like baking. You need to mix the ingredients correctly or you get a flat pudding - and this World Cup was the football equivalent of a flat pudding for England. I honestly think England would have gone further had Eriksson sat up and taken the tough decisions, and my honest opinion is that there were times when England would have been better off without Beckham. Take Frank Lampard. He has not been at his best. Would Eriksson have considered leaving him out if we had gone further? He has moved from system to system and there have been different teams. There has been no sense of continuity. Other teams in the World Cup have had their teams and systems set out before they arrived. We never had that. The 4-1-4-1 system never worked. It was a system that suited Eriksson more than the players because it enabled him to get the star names in the side. Eriksson's attitude to friendlies has also been poor. His constant use of players for token appearances has been an abuse of international matches. We had people like Alan Thompson given one match and then discarded. This wasn't conducive to continuity or for players getting valuable international playing time. So Eriksson moves on to his next job, leaving us no more advanced than when he arrived The big disappointment in this World Cup was that England just didn't play. I was optimistic, but that was based on Eriksson taking the big decisions - it didn't happen. At least at Euro 2004 England played well against France, Switzerland and Croatia, and also against Portugal before they went out. It just hasn't happened for them here, despite the fact that their preparation conditions were perfect and their draw was pretty well perfect too. They missed a big chance against Portugal because the route was opening up. Portugal will not win the World Cup, and yet they have got past England. In Eriksson's defence, there have been positives. He picked up the squad and got us to the World Cup in 2002. There was that magnificent 5-1 win against Germany in Munich and successive wins against Argentina - but not a lot else that springs to mind. So Eriksson moves on to his next job, leaving us no more advanced than when he arrived. We have older players who won't be at the next World Cup and younger ones who have had injuries and may not make it either. There is surgery required as Eriksson leaves England behind. |
when a referee from argentina is allowed to officiate a game involving england.... the complaints regarding the lopsided officiating isnt a surprise.
Sad game...sad result.

| Originally posted by Dj Smitty20 FIFA is a fucking joke. Honestly, this tournament's officiating is completely laughable. Rooney wasn't sent off for his knock on the balls. The red only came out after that little cocksucker Ronaldo bitched and moaned to the ref and demanded a card and was shoved by Rooney. That alone should have been a yellow for that pathetic little ****** Ronaldo. And not to mention that Rooney was being fucking manhandled QUITE CLEARLY by Carvalho. Instant red card? If Figo doesn't get a suspension for headbutting, why does Rooney get sent off for pushing that girl? Oh, and no hand ball called in the box, even though it clearly went off his forearm WHILE IN MOTION which stopped the ball from being crossed over. Last time I checked, that's a PK, but maybe not for England eh? The tackle on Lennon looked a bit suspect too. The Porkos might as well have been handed this match on a silver platter. And even with the BS sending off, England still outplayed them on the field. How many shots did Portugal really scare Robinson with? All were from 25 yards or more. If fucking Lampard could do anything with the ball, England would have walked away with this one. I hope France sends that bastard team home and end their moaning and whining. How can any of you be proud of this? You're nothing but cheating pricks with absolutely no class whatsoever on the field. England probably wouldn't have stood much of a chance against France after all the cards and injuries anyway, but you're in for a pretty rude wakeup Portugal. You won't be able to swan dive your way through that match because France doesnt seem to blackmarked and the calls (and lack of calls against) wont be given to you so easily. FUcking disgrace. |
