I was about to say finally a decent track, but then he goes and slams that acapella over the top. Is there really any need?

Why did you rank him in your top five in the dj mag poll this year?

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Sep-10-2006 01:58:

It's only when he is playing to a crowd full of clueless rave gimps like this that he waters down his sets with shit trance. Some of his sets this year - particularly in Germany - have been very very good. Playing on the radio doesn't do him any favours either - For An Angel now for example. I wonder why that is.

For An Angel

Haha. Well, I saw him back here in the States back in June and I wasn't impressed. I guess I ought to see him over in Germany. I mean ffs he's still playing For an Angel. The last few ID tracks before For an Angel were not too shabby.

Posted by nsamadi on Sep-10-2006 02:01:

wow...what a shitty set..only really liked the first intro track.

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Sep-10-2006 02:02:

Yea Germany is the place to be - Berlin in particular if you want to see what he is really all about. I have seen him in the states too, and I wasn't overly impressed with his set.

Yip Jules has really got to shut up though and stop talking over good tracks.

They done something similar at Coloursfest. PVD played Without You, crowd went nuts etc, never played it on Essential Mix, gutted

He can still get away with playing For an Angel as its a tune the crowd can relate to and leave them on a high. Remember not everyone there is right into their dance music but will know that tune easily.

It works anyway, listen to the crowd when it plays!
