i was just saying that even the best can fuckup at last minute....

Isolated incident for sure...

The place was JAMMING for Lawler back in July, and from what I heard, just the same for Zabiela!

Shit happens, live with it.

I'll be there for Lawler + Kleinenberg!

I bailed on last night, but I'm sure I would have waited the 2+ hours anyways, I'm used to waiting in lines for shit

Tribe is essentially the same club as Myst Lounge, just new interior so I don't see why people are like OMG WTF to Lawler + Zabiela and then F*CK YOU to Digweed... People just need to get the sand out of their vaginas!

Posted by Munchy on Sep-23-2006 03:32:

Posted by Ndulge on Sep-23-2006 03:42:

Another thing, ban that bitch with the curly hair from the club, does she even work there? And does she have the authority to tell people where they're allowed to stand?

Posted by Ndulge on Sep-23-2006 04:22:

No, she does not work for us, what did she tell u?

Like I said in the other thread, I'll assume based on the responses I've seen that this was an isolated incident and that the management wants to rectify it. I will go back at some point soon and hope that the issues of last night are resolved; one way or another I'll post about my experiences.

Lineup was fuckin intense, but shit happens. The club for sure doesn't want it that way. They've had several successful nights in the past. The fact is Tribe is the hot spot on thursdays in MTL for not only the edm lovers but clubbers in general.

Louis i saw u trying to get your way in and bouncers being bitches with u, then i thought to myself, doesnt this dude spin here!!!???@?@

Clubs like Tribe need those big spenders and for everyone out there that doesnt know it yet....MONEY GIVES YOU CERTAIN PRIVELEGES. Its a fact.

If i'm bell mobility and i supply cell phones for all of bombardier and its 10000 employees and they're not getting super service, then they're out and they'll go somewhere else!

Same case for a guy that drops serious money in a club. high rollers get in EASY. Its the way the club scene is, ANYWHERE!!!!

i got lucky, a (really hot) bartender came outside and said anybody who buys a bottle gets in the club right away. I've been a digweed fan forever, since 97-98. Im a university student and im not one of those high rollers, but i looked at my buddy and said fuck it, told the bartender that i would get a bottle. Basically ended up paying $270 to see john digweed and i have no regrets. for me, the way i am, i would rather take the hit on the wallet than to miss digweed. im on fuckin trance addict for a reason

music was great, digweed was on fire. He's a really nice dude too. He told me that he LOVES ARIA and the vibe there btw BIGGY if your reading that, it's a sign

dirtymontreal, dont hate man! no need to try to ruin a competitor's rep with booking agencies.

to all the peeps that are really pissed and are saying they'll never go back and are traching the club:

i hate to say this but the club will go on, will survive and will keep making good money. And good for them. we need a club bringing in solid names consistently. we all know the nduldge team is the king in town for that right now. It's not only good for the club, it's good for the city of Montreal's EDM scene and it's image globally. You guys all talk about how important the scene is...well this is just my way of looking at it.

i feel sorry for all those who didnt get in, keep your head up, it happens to everyone. it might even happen again. the club doesnt have it easy, its a difficult business to run.

one thing tho, those bouncers are FUCKIN assholes. no respect for people at all. the way they talk to you is fucked up. worse than i've heard anywhere. these dudes might be huge and can kick peoples asses but are totally brainless. maybe if i bribe them with steroids next time i'll get in without paying lots of $$$$$$$$ lol

just my 2 cents.

hey malek, saw your buddy jimmy taking the pics, super nice dude. is he on TA?

stereohead good job on getting the purse signed, i was loving that!!! thats a true fan.

for some reason we passed by hypertribe at 1am, with a huge amount of people outside.

we see two wops and a girl that looks like a guy walking toward the club, i ask one of the wop where's Tribe Hyper Mega Super Aqua Club and he thinks for a second then answer, "thats very far from here man".

I think I never laughed that hard, my ribs still hurt.

Posted by Wisnia on Sep-23-2006 05:53:

I cant wait for Sander!
I'm still excited to go to Tribe,

I've been watching Nip/Tuck these days, maybe ill get my boobs done before i go to this place?

Anyways, shit happens, i knew from the start that this place will be tough to get in (especially when a dj like Digweed spins). Its a damn supperclub and it works the same way as Time and the other places like it.

interesting article that happens to relate at the topic at hand

http://www.365mag.com/index.php?pg=...+Music+Magazine

The Bad - Slagging Off
Sasha's an asshole. Hawtin's an egomaniac who can't mix. Digweed is Booooring. Howells is a crackhead. All Deep Dish cares about is cashing their checks. And that damn Bill Patrick won't return my phonecalls. They all suck, what a bunch of losers.

Folks seem to love finding anything and everything to bitch and complain about with their formerly favorite DJs. Despite the fact that it was often these same individuals who helped introduce them to this music they love so much, people always want to slag off the jocks that seem to actually find a decent measure of success.

Is it jealousy, boredom, too much partying? Or maybe its Sick Boy's unifying theory of life, at one time, you've got it, and then you lose it, and it's gone for ever. Have these superstars legitimately lost a step, or is it maybe, just possibly the slaggers who have the problem. I've always thought you learn a lot more about the person doing the talking than the ones who are being talked about. If someone is bitching and complaining or mean-spirited and harsh don't you ever start to wonder why the hell they seem so angry?

The fact is, the top names in the biz, even if they have been accused of selling out are all talented jocks who have gained a huge and well deserved level of success. No matter what the whiny, embittered raver who hates that they make money and fill big clubs says, you cannot deny that these DJs are still getting large amounts of people extremely excited about the music they are playing.

And the gratuitously arrogant wannabe DJ who is all chuffed because he can't get a booking off his wicked new minimal CD which he thinks is loads better than that weak ass mix Zabiela handed Lee Burridge a few years ago, can't deny the fact that if he had a huge crowd, a free bottle, and a handful of groupies at his beck and call, he certainly would go ahead and play something other than the latest clicks and blips from the depths of Eastern Europe every once in a while, even if it was just for shits and giggles.

So I guess the BAD is the idea that just because a DJ is now a star, just because he makes money, has found success, and gets to live an enviable life does not necessarily mean you can dismiss him or her as a total twat. Sure some of them may be from time to time, but who isn't really. It is a fact that most of the DJs that have reached that level have been in the game, working their asses off for 10, 15 or even 30 odd years. And anybody who works successfully at the same job for that long is probably not as much of a no-talent, obnoxious, egomaniac as some pretentious, disaffected youths might say.

Posted by Piett on Sep-23-2006 17:24:

Coat check is a must, but the main thing is those fucking prick bouncers.
They have to go if im ever gonna even concider going back to this haven of superficiality.
Although i doubt anything will happen on this front, they need those brain dead yokles to deal with the hip hop crowd the rest of the nights in the week.

The only sure way to get me back in there spending money is to build a water slide.

UneeK Thank you for a nice reply.
This is what we need, people that believe in us, the more we here good comments the more we will deliver, you guy have to understand its not easy when 2000 peoples are trying to get in your club but we can only hold 600. What happened this Thursday was unexpected. One thing I can promise is that the Tribe sound system will be the best one in the city
