It's Australia... halloween ain't big here. Basically, the only reason I knew it was Halloween was because there were kids door knocking. And, much like your porn, they were mediocre at best. They hardly dress up. The best there was was a girl that had her tutu on which she probably uses at ballet practice.

So, to answer your question, no dressing up.

And to answer your second question, probably not for a bit. Quite enjoying work at the moment, and I don't have enough funds anyway. What's more annoying is that mum's going over in about 3 weeks to see the relo's I was staying with in TO, but of course I can't make it along. No doubt I'll be back sooner or later though

Hell - why not go as a holocaust victim next year? Or a slave, or a child abuse victim. Sounds right up your street.

That's not a bad idea.. but it's not current, which is what I try to go for. I don't think that my costume was tasteless as much as it was original. It seems that for every person that hates me for the costume, there is someone next in line to defend me. Halloween has lost all meaning anyways. When did people stop dressing up as something legitamently scary, or someone that has been in a scary situation. I think my costumes actually reflect the traditional sense of a halloween costume.

kotsy.

I was going to be a suicide bomber...but wasn't original enough...

and i'm not going to comment on some other ideas...as well, some people might not find the humour in them...

probably because they're not funny...or scary

kotsy. believe what you may, there is a line which you crossed and your inability to see that shows immaturity and lack of tact.

I think 'current events' costumes are the best, even if they are viewed as 'offensive' to some.

One year this guy dressed as the police sketch of the Unibomber (back when he was still a wanted man)- a simple blue hooded sweatshirt, aviator glasses and a thin mustache. He won contests all over D.C. for that. Made me laugh my ass off!

Here, Oct. 2001 (right after 9/11)- went to a party where I saw a suicide bomber, CNN reporter, and guy dressed in a baby blue satin burka w/white lace over the eyes and a "Miss Afghanistan" banner across his chest. << GOLD!

Even I am guilty of it, having dressed as my famous murderer brother literally 5 weeks after the murder, and the next Halloween as well (w/an even more improved costume). His story was HUGE for 2 yrs across the world, and a very sensitive issue for the whole DC area. My friends were literally jaw-dropping shocked, but then 10 seconds later laughed their heads off cuz they couldn't believe I had the balls to do it. Good thing my family doesn't know I did that- I think they would kill me. LOL.

Oh, I LOVE you Nat and ur amazing sense of humour! You got it right,IMO

*hugs*

^^^
But what's the difference with nat's sense of humour and kotsy's then? Seems a bit hypocritical to me to side with nat (who's agreeing with kotsy), and slag kotsy?
