my boy used to work at the FL in 34st. I loved it when the 50% employee discount time of the month would come around; we would literally abuse it and beat it to death by even putting items on lay-away. sucks he had to quit, i sure did love taking advantage of that discount.

The caisher is in pure amazment. I am trying not to laugh and the other girl working is cracking up. So, here's the funny part. what she ordered in starbucks lingo is called a Grande hazlenut mocha frapacinno light blended coffee. So we make the damn drink and I hand it to her and I say "here's your Grande hazlenut mocha frapacinno light blended coffee. she says "That's not what I ordered" Im like yes it is and she says not it's not. I wnat it just like I ordered it. I said this is what you ordered thats just the name of it. So, she stands there and argues with me and Im like hey whatever do you wnat the drink or not. Being just as nice as I can be. Then she decides she wants her money back. Jeeezzz this is what makes my job sooooo fun!

which starbucks r u working at? and incidentally, when she mentioned "ice" maybe she didnt mean a frappd drink but just wanted iced coffee? well i dunno but yeah thats some shit there ahha. well i guess it makes the day interesting when certain ppl walk in like that eh?

OMG im a reformed starbucks addict...i TRY not to walk into any Starbucks but my boi recently developed an addiction to White Chocolate Mochas. Also seeing all these ads for Peppermint Mochas is making my head spin

I'm contemplating whether or not I should go to class today. I have a test in pre-calc that I know I'm gonna bomb. I haven't had any time to study this week because I've been working. I mean this is the last semester I'm taking classes (not getting a degree) so it's not like I NEED to do well. I'll just study my ass off and try to do the best I can on the final.

That's a good point. It sucks cuz ever since I made the decision for this to be my last semester I haven't been motivated at all to do any work. Now that I'm working I barely have time to study either.

OMG I am a crack whore when it comes to specialty drinks. Speically peppermint yumminess!

(NOT the reg coffee, tho, for some reason starbucks tastes likes its burnt all the time....whats with that??)

PS: I have decent eating habits when it comes to food, but I swear between beer and 400 calorie coffee drinks I would be skinny if I cut those out! Be careful, people, liquids can make you big too!!

Posted by kaykay on Dec-07-2006 17:34:

there are 12 grams of fat in one teaspoon of whip from starbucks. Some people actually get a Latte made with heavy cream (witch is what we make the whip out of).

It's all in the type of bean and where its from. If you think it taste burnt then you would probley like the lightnote or breakfast blend. They are a more mild blend. Im am studying to become a coffee master. hehe Although...I dont like alot of Starbucks coffee! shhhhhh

mann i would have frappucino addictions during summertime, esp from 1999-2001...i would have to have one every other day/week...sounds kinda nasty now that i think about it. Venti size too!!!

not exactly sure how i escaped those years without coming a huge blimp! ahha

This just doesn't end: my wife has the flu 2nd time within a month and this one is worse then the previous & my daughter is going through worse each winter with first a flu, then with the lungs and now the doctor found almost a dozen bacterias in her and she just can't shake it taking antibiotics for a month now. Partially, I sure, it has to do with my mother bringing the flu with her from her trip to China. I am seriously starting to lose it here! I, on the other hand, have been sick free and I never get sick in the winter but may be like 4 times in my whole life! Why dont they just listen to me when I tell them to drink Nyquil & Dayquil at first signs of getting sick to shake it off???

Sorry for the rent.

PS. All the females (wife, aunt, grandmas & few others) are trying to talk me into taking my daughter back to Russia too.

I didn't escape it!! lol like I said beer and coffeee beer and coffee...repeat....I am a drink WHORE!!

Kaykay: isn't the mild blend less caffeine bc I wouldn't drink it if it was. From what I know, a lot of people complain about that same burnt taste....nasty!! the other drinks are great tho.

Posted by ReenTeenTeen on Dec-07-2006 18:39:

I am all about hazelnut, black eye, venti coffee. (best responce from a Starbuck teller on Union Square, after I make my order, was, "Sorry, we out of coffee")

halal food is the shit. i used to get it every day after work over the summer. not all that easy to digest though.

with coffee i treat myself as if i were an alcoholic and just stay away from it all. there are some mornings when i smell someone's caramel macchiato and go crazy . once i started looking up the nutrition facts though i had to stop. some of those drinks have the same amount of calories as a small meal. i figure if i'm going to eat or drink something, it should serve some purpose in my body. for early morning energy i go with vitamin B complex. not nearly as delicious as a Grande Iced Cinnimon Dolce Latte , but at least there's no crash or come down that forces you to get more .

why don't they just take a shot or two of vodka, bundle up and sweat the cold out? my russian friends suggested that and it worked...and do you not want to take her to russia cause she'll be sick? she could have a grand old time

No way she is going back to Russia!!! The health care where her grandma lives sux and its cold there and then its just as cold in Moscow too where we live. I mean like really cold with snow and freezing ass cold with a longer winter. I just figure its a stupid idea to begin with because I am 100% sure she brought all that bacteria with her from Russia to begin with because she lived with her granmother near Ural where health care is like 30 years behind!!! My baby isn't goingtback to Moscow until summer time!!!
