wow, what a way to ruin the gift, breaking tradition..marco v is great...but the gift is a resident nite on steroids...10hrs of rocking out to the fucking classic house/trance anthems of the past decade...now its cut down to God knows how long...making a good nite out I'm sure, but it takes away from the marco v fans aswell as the people who go and have gone to the gift, some of which only make it out once a year to Guv for this event..

exactly, it takes away mostly from 'the gift' goers who want classics, and it also takes away from ppl who want to see marco v rip it up tech-trance style. the two sets are going to clash really bad.

It might not be as bad if marco plays a 2:30-4:30 set...that way there is some good time b4 his set to get good oldies in, and decent time to close his set afterwards. i'd just dread a 1-3/4 set, cause that would cut right into the glory of mark's set!

Yeah, i saw him twice, including 2005, and both times i felt like leaving within the 1st hour...crowd was falling asleep, throughout his mix matching, scratching and volume cuts, which personally, were giving me headaches already. I mean he was trying, but i think he was trying just too much ... cause it wasn't working. I couldn't agree more...one needs to play for the crowd :-)

and i'm pissed that this is on the same night as marco v. i've seen marco v about 7 times, and enjoy his sets. i don't feel the need to see him again... i wanted a mark oliver solo classics night. the hype that has surrounded this night has been huge, and i feel like it has been taken away from us.

ah well... i'm sure it'll be a good night anyway. just won't compare to previous years. the only way i would be happy with this is if marco v did a classics set too, which i doubt. old school marco v is amazing!
