Federer stopped Sampras' bid to tie Bjorn Borg's Open Era record of 5 in a row.

My bad - nice work with that one

Can go on 4ever about Federer once again.
Amazing player, gracious champion, all class

Federer vs Nadal @ Roland Garros is all i'm focused on now.
Oh God PLEASE let it happen this yr!

what would be even better is if Nadal beats him again at the French. All champions need an Archilles heal and some rivalry

If Nadal is never going to beat Federer on hardcourt or grass then he deserves to keep his "master of clay" status, imo. Knowing Federer (and his coach) though they'll be working extra hard to take out the grand slam this year.

haha federer doesn't have a coach. the guy's just a part-time advisor.

I thought he was more of a sports psychologist or something.

Good read about Sampras talking about Federer.

link

Been watching a few highlight of Federer, his backhand is probably the best in the game and he hit so many winners with it and his passing shot is out of the world.

It still MAY not be the best, but his forehand is the best shot in tennis, no one doubts that

That's Tony Roche, who used to coach Ivan Lendl and Patrick Rafter, and supposedly Federer pays him by the week.

do you think roger federer just started his peak, at his peak, or almost past his peek performances, and will come to a decline soon ?

it's pretty strange how clay surface is the kryptonite for many great tennis players.

he's at his peak but he doesn't look to be headed in a state of decline anytime soon. as for clay, i think it's only "kryptonite" to some because they did not grow up playing on it. If you had an kid splitting his/her time on both surfaces they would proabably fair well on both.
