LOL @ group hugs crew. I don't know who that is, but it's funny nonetheless.

Generally I am a very open-minded, friendly person who loves being social and making new acquaintances. I have the tendancy to mesh with people easily, but I have found time and time again that when I go to events in Toronto, a group of people from TOTA have this way of making me feel ostracized, and "loserish", if that's how you want to describe it.

It's bizarre. I will open my arms and hug anyone. I will give anyone the time of day, especially a TOTA. However, on more than one occasion I have found that some TOTA's will snub me off, or blatantly act like a group of assholes.

It has turned me off of the TOTA crowd, and have more and more recently pulled myself back from the scene.

Don't get me wrong... there are A LOT of really awesome people within the TOTA crowd, but it has become so cliquey and shut off that I think it is turning a lot of people away. I have heard a couple of times from various people not registered say that they think the TA'ers are snobby. A large portion of them are. We are getting a bad name for ourselves.

Personally, and I have said this before, I think if you are going to claim yourself as a part of a community, then you should be open to welcoming others in from the same community. This isn't highschool anymore.

Haha, yeah I know! It's been almost 3 years I think?? Goddamn, lol.

There's quite a few people I can't believe I still haven't met yet! But I'm sure we WILL meet....all in time.

TOTAs have a rep for doing this..just go to any event and talk to the non-TOTAs that tried posting on the board and no one has anything nice to say about TOTAs..but maybe its not TOTAs but just T.O people in general, majoity of them...Ive always had great times in MTL with people regardless of TA or not but I cannot say the same for Toronto

Everyone is happy at a Montreal party... there's no such thing as "hate" on a dance floor...

i mean there are the posers and thugs at hiphop parties but who cares about those, but about the 5-10 times ive partied there I had an amazing time, and proably more better times than in TO considering the other people there.

No hate on an EDM dancefloor.

Go on a hiphop one, and watch your ass; especially if u're a decent looking white female. Hate will happen real quick if you're not careful/if you don't stand your ground hardcore. Pfffffff even if you do, they'll still try for you..."NO" or "I have a boyfriend" doesn't work for them...

Just speaking from too many personal experiences.

and then there's london, where the same thing happens except you're being hit in the back by some drunk hillbilly who can't dance and some caner with pukelips is trying to get his hand down your girlfriend's pants. (secret hint: notice please that all this poor behavior is being perpetrated by breeders. solution? occam's razor: mass castration for anyone who can't relate to oscar wilde.) paix.

Muuuaahahahaaahaa!!! i'm still here if you wanna fight Digi! i miss our days of verbal warfare!

and ... i do agree with this thread essentially. BRUTAL!! it's been getting to a point now where I also don't want to associate myself with 'new' TOTA anymore. sad but true. i miss Montreal & the good old days ... Del is right, in the beginning the mentality was different - probably also the reason why all the older TA's (TO & Mtl) have left.

just food for thought really.

Individuals can change the world, why not TA?

WHOOOOOOOOOOO!

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

It was worth the time to write because enough people thanked me in pirvate and on MSN. People were happy to have it voiced, so if it doesn't CHANGE anything atleast i was able to speak the opinion of people who don't want to voice out.

Um what is wrong with you? If you have this much time on your hands to complain about TA why not use your free time and put it to real use. go join the UN, join the al gore team and discuss a topic of real concern (global warming). there is so much you can do. this world has a lot more important matters that need attention, TA isnt one of them
