Seriously!

So we're getting a new Main Room, a new Acid Lounge, a new entrance, and hopefully a redone Patio.

I graduate from my department on Saturday (May 12th) and my school on Sunday (May 13). I might have to make a quick trip up to check out the club and drive back right after all sketchy LOL.

For example, would you say that the Israeli scene is less developed than Europe scene just because it's got a lot of psytrance? Or Brazil which has its own brand of techno scene (but heavily influenced by house from what I hear)?

While I agree that there's helluva a lot coming out Europe that every scene in the world should at least take a look at, but just blindly following European scene IMO is just silly. What may work for Europe not necessarily work elsewhere or scenes around the world crappier than Europe all the time.

Yohan, in terms of house, tehcno, and trance, what's happening in Europe right now is very much at the forefront of progression. While each different area of the world has it's own influences, and own distinct sound, generally speaking, the widest variety of sounds, and the highlest level of quality is coming from Europe. While Israel has a strong psytrance scene, and Brazil has their own blend of techno/house, the majority of trends and progression do take place and orginate from European producers, on European soil. Much like American breeds MTV type artists, for the most part Europe breeds dance artists. To assume that I haven't taken into consideration what's happening in all the corners of the globe and calling me silly for it is a rather silly assumption to make on your part.

LOL.

I think we're pretty much on same page on this, but I read your initial post as too much emphasis on all scenes should adopt the Europe scene.

I'm an immigrant. I'm suppose to speak poor English

I disagree with this one. I know at least a few people that are just getting into EDM and they don't like Trance at all, but love house.

to disagree with a statement because of a few people doesn't mean squat. If they are just coming into EDM then yes they probably like house more because house is what they hear the majority of the time.

I think its safe to assume that the majority of people who are true EDM fans....and not bandwagoners.....started with Trance and have grown to enjoy the other styles because Trance got them into the scene.

are these people actually becoming true EDM fans or are they just bandwagoners and when country music becomes the next hot thing will they stop listening to EDM and start listening to country. I am sure there is a small percentage that will actually become fans and not just bandwagoners.

But we're not in Europe... We're in North America. More specifically Toronto, and I ain't complaining.

The past trends in EDM show that Europe is where the scene develops and over the period of 4-5 years it starts to flow into North America....in todays day and age it probably happens even quicker. Slingshot is right....almost all the major players in the game come from Europe.

Bah. Marco V can't be considered tech trance anymore. Come to think of it, he was never one genre type of producer.

And nobody better say Randy Katana is the new face of tech trance!

I don't mean now, he plays everything, but he does do occasional sets that are influenced by techno, but hugely melodic, ie tech trance. (imo). HIs exposure 2004 set it pure tech trance imo, what about AUtomanual? tech trance again I think.

Ever since I started going to Guvernment I have become obsessed with the notion of being able to be surrounded by glorious asians drenched in glowbeads while listening to the Orphellian sounds of Mark Oliver playing Nalin and Kane-Open Your Eyes for the 9000th time and to be able to paddle a good ball back and forth with a mate in a heated game of ping pong.

Until that time comes I will simply not accept any notion of the room being anywhere near perfect.

Ha!

Sander Van Doorn = God of Tech Trance

and if you are not convinced listen to the March and April Identity mixes, and you will be converted.

The man is going to be a Legend!!!

All Hail SVD!

Reall? I think Automanual as more of a housey tune than trance. IMO Automanual was the beginning of Marco V dabbing into more electro house tunage like Possibly but Unlikely, Red Blue Purple

I never saw the big deal, even when I saw him live. All I heard was beats, like hardstyle trance but with more bass than melody, I don't mind it but I felt it was really mindless. Send me an essential mix or something. Apparently there's one that is Amazing. It's not in the d/l thread.

Well, the trance elements make it more tech TRANCE than house imo.

This is pure bullshit, I have been listening to trance for the longest I can remember and never once were under any influence of any sort of drugs. You dont need drugs to enjoy trance music and if you do then you dont truly love the music you love the drug.

peace

What I meant, was that Electro appears to be still going up, and again the Z103 fans are digging Red Blue Purple now even though it's been out for about a year now, songs like this will get more of an EDM audience and hopefully more EDM clubs.

But anyways. Abercrombie you made it all up?
