| Sequel A sequel to the book Forrest Gump was written, Gump and Co., but due to a dispute between the author and Paramount Pictures, the screenplay written in 2001 based on the book was not put into production. The dispute has been worked out and Paramount producers are taking another look at the Forrest Gump II screenplay.[7] |

Watched it last night and I thought it was pretty good. Yes, as pointed out before, several cheesy poorly acted scenes and some annoying cop-outs, the biggest one imo about Marko just wandering into some testing site and getting zapped. And why Topher Grace was ever cast as Venom is still beyond me, although the cg effects looked great.
But I liked the movie for the message it conveyed. That regardless of circumstance, situation, or just plain bad luck, everyone still has a choice. That if you decide to get into drugs or crime, based on whatever justification you have for it, it was still your choice to do so. People must be held accountable for their actions. It's why Parker drifted into the dark side. The solutions it offered seemed to work well in the short-term, but upon making those choices, came consequences. And I liked how that same message not only applied to Parker, but as to Harry Osbourne, and Eddie Brock, and how the outcome was played differently on all 3.
Film pwnd us all, matter of fact.
That is all for now.
Tobey Maguire is, still and now more so, the worst thing to ever happen to the idea of Spider-man.
If you're a fan of any of the following characters, get intoxicated before viewing: Eddie Brock, The Sandman, Venom, Any Green Goblin.
This movie only gets away with what it does because everyone in the audience already knows all the characters, their powers, and their weaknesses, and literally just wants to see them on the big screen.
Don't walk in with high expectations.
that james franco guy should be spiderman. He actually auditioned the role but got rejected.Unbelievable. He could pass as geeky and sensitive, I'm sure.
I just find tobey too wimpy with his squeeky voice and looks.
I was disappointed with the movie, it was like watching pimp my ride..marvel style.Seriously the scenes with Parker in his emo hair was unbearable to watch.

I know Peter Parker is supposed to be geeky and emo and whiney... but Tobey Maguire just takes that to a whole new level. He's annoying and not in the "great acting" annoying, just plain fuckin annoying. I think I would have liked these movies more if anybody was cast as Parker besides him.
mildly entertaining, good effects, crappy acting, mostly a waste of time.. come on, the movie was a parody of itself! that's on par with the usual parodies like "Not another teen movie" or "scary movie 17319" just with more CGI and more superhero.
not what Spiderman should be about.
