wait til we get our IKEA shelves in there. We are getting 8 foot (2.6 meter???) shelves with a ladder!

Posted by Ian on Feb-22-2008 14:11:

wait until they fall apart too, as does a lot of ikea stuff. However their cutlery is great, knives which actually cut the food you're eating!

Otherwise, looks great mate. Hope to make use of the guest bedroom one day

I'm pretty sure that when the builder was running off a list of supplies he needed to build this home it went something like this:

1. lumber - check!
2. nails - check!
3. shingles - check!
4. carpet - check!
5. awesomeness - CHECK!

The house looks great!

multipule room raves all at once!!??

Posted by Boomer187 on Feb-22-2008 14:38:

well ian, I guess since they are so cheap in price we can just buy 3 sets now and they will all last a few years hehe.

and thanks guys. I expect visits!!!!!

Posted by Ian on Feb-22-2008 14:39:

haha that's a good idea looks a sweet house, not sure how well it'll work with all that open light in the heat, but i guess you'll just have a/c for that

and its all mine. I get to paint and design everything in there. and because I am oding it, it will all be torn out and changed!!!wood flooring, redwalls...black cabinets, glass bowl sink, and massive kick ass faucet!!! meso excited.

and all the windows will have faux wood blinds on them. It blocks a ton of sun light out. Plus they are double pane energy efficient windows. so the cool air loss is reduced. im more worried about the attic (they call it the crawl space cause its so tiny). I have to put up a tin foil radiant barrier in there to block the hot sun rays from heating the attic. the barrier lowers cooling costs a ton.

we signed everything today.keys early next week!

boomer....update?!

Posted by Boomer187 on Mar-16-2008 22:15:

New houses suck. You have to buy and put together everything. Especially sucky working full time and doing it all.

I'm almost set and ready to update Just got my desk in the library. Now I need a chair and to put together a million book shelves.

Pics in the near future!

Can't wait to see the powder room! I love red!

Posted by Boomer187 on Mar-16-2008 22:19:

actually the powder room is getting pushed back. The red in the library turned out like poop...after 2 coats. but i moved my stuff into it anyways. So I have to think about the shade of red in there. But i wanna get it done soooooon

for a desk chair, look for a used herman miller aeron chair. or buy one off ebay thats new. you wont regret it. one of the best desk chairs imho.

The library is just about finished. I still have a shelve to put above the desk and some lights. but the big part is in and it is repainted. we had to pay someone to cover the awful paint job we did...

plus I need to build a lil tilted shelve for my cd decks. no more turn tables I guess I could sell them....any takers
