"you're a go-go dancer, you go-go, not cry-cry"

After Max on Friday and Deadmau5 on Saturday, the Canadians officially took over Chicago for one weekend. Here's my honest review...
For those of you complaining that Deadmau5's tracks all sound the same, after hearing him live it really puts everything into perspective. In another year, he might be making another 20 chart-toppers of a different style.
Although it's always really hard to tell how much work is actually involved during an Ableton set, the beats were good (90% of it was his own work) and the set never stalled and music flowed seamlessly from one track to the other. The clockwork dance moves were funny too. Overall, a really good show and obviously the guy does have loads of potential.
Very good weekend of music, I'm definitely inspired

enjoyed the show - liked what he was doing with the Lemur and other controller and such.

how the hell does he get the mousehead on the plane?
Fucking aye, I missed it.
Deadmau5, since you visit this forum personally. We can nag at you on a one on one basis to come back to the midwest to play. The joys of the internets.
Nah I hope to convince my girlfriend to take the trip to Canada with me. I haven't ever tried to get in to that country, but I do say. Now is a better time than ever.
Lol, pics look awesome Ruben.
I am mainly jealous that I didn't get to see a DJ with a mouse head on. Thats what did it over for me.
I mean I woke up today having an okay day. Not bad considering I missed Deadmau. Than I see he wore a mouse head on stage and from there out my day just been a wreck.
Boom Boom Room here I come......

awesome show! so chunky and groovy.... really kicked ass with all the controllers... =) how much of it was pre-programmed???? how much was his own?
mau5 had awesome FX in there... he came on around 0:45, kicking off which ever DJ before him was spinnnnin "poperazzi music"
it was such a nice change of pace when jaded and faxing berlin came on...! but at 330 it became too repetitive imo, too much the same groove..... but the kid's got mad skills! looked like he was into it as well
i recognized a lot of his productions but they seemed to be melted with some other groovelines....sick sick sick
i love that perception that when a track is played by its original producer then it somehow becomes more special.
faxing berlin and jaded were shit - the fact that deadmaus played it didnt improve them
also who was the opener for him that was playing this "poperazzi" music?
for me, yes, its more special to hear a song played by the person who made it.
