also yes i found the mainroom to be rammed during the first 2 hours of carls set..but it was fine otherwise.

I actually enjoyed being in the middle of that mess cuz it just added to the atmosphere. The trick was to find the rhythm of the crowd and then move to that rhythm . Maybe it was just me??.. For the first time in probably a year or two i can actually say i enjoyed that sardine fest.

Carl Cox for PM

p.s. Orko my friend you are a class act. That was hella fun!!!!

+1

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone on here but Ferry loves Canada, and in his most recent interview (2006) he picked Guv to be his top club of choice if he had only one more day to live and had to pick a venue where he would throw his last party.

OMG finally back in the states. Last night was one of the best nights everrr. I got to Guv around 11 and immediatly went to the orange room for Deadmau5 which was amazzzing. Got to meet a bunch of TAs and found AJ who was my partner in crime almost all night. I wasnt feeling Cox, so we were only in there for a little while.. Ferry was ripping shit up alllll night. His set was fucking amazzinggg. I spent most of my night in there, and on the patio haha. That was an adventure.. It was a good night to be running around

After that we hit the zone till like 2.. that was insane. My first time there and it was perfect! Deko-ze ripped shit up he was byfar the best of the morning. And the bartender and i are in love so free gatorades made my day haha. Did anyone see the bouncers wreck that guy? it was nasty.. eek

thanks for a great night everyone, time for some sleep!

Steve Aoki was a complete mess! he effed up about 5 mixes in a row at one point. but the tunage sure as hell made up for it. He was incredibly entertaining with his selections as well as his antics. at one point he jumped into the crowd and ended up falling on the floor...laying flat on his back for a second or two.

Scumfrog was awesome as usual...almost as good as his Ultra Spin 12 set up in the drink.

I was lovin' The Roaches from what I caught before Loco Dice took over. Loco was effing awesome, but I don't think the Guv main room was the best setting for him to play in...more suited for a low ceiling, dark basement type of room.

Carl Cox sounded like he was playing the same track over and over. atleast until he dropped that Deadmau5 track just before I left.

It was my 4th anniversary going to the Guv...although I've had much more memorable nights there I still enjoyed myself.

Wow, what a night. Another amazing experience at guv. Got there at 11ish and the lineup was the smallest I've ever seen. Started off with MO in KH. Great opening set. Highlight: Super8 - Needs to Feel (Wippenburg Mix).

I caught the start of Ferry's set before checking out Deadmau5. Was loving the vibe in the Orange Room. Seeing Joel live was long overdue. I think I've been to 2 other events with him spinning and I managed to miss him.

Joee Cons in the Gallery was fucking incredible. First time seeing him spin and was extremely impressed! Just knowing that I'd be seeing him again at the zone later made it even better.

Well said! Felt like I haven't seen AA in forever and was great to go nuts to his sick tunage again. Loooooved it! I had a conversation with him before he went on and he was telling me that he won't be back in TO until at least Dec/Jan because he has picked up new residencies in Detroit and L.A. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. He suggested I come see him in Detroit, which is doable. Anyone in for a road trip? Also.. was that you I took a picture of in front of AA while he was spinning? You were wearing a white top.. I haven't uploaded the picture yet. If it was you I was totally clueless until I read your review and looked through my pictures, lol.

SkyBar was different but still amazing. A heavy amount of fog in the sky and a perfect amount of mist coming down. It just added to refreshing feeling of area.

Correction, at least one person was feeling it It was completely unexpected and I almost shit when Killing in the Name came on. Videos of that coming shortly.

Cox and Loco was fucking amazing, but I think there is way too much bass in the main room. It just overpowers everything. Does anyone know why D'Luxe lounge was closed? The sound in that room is way better and the view is awesome. So many other areas were blocked off too. What was with that huge curtained off area in KH?

Spent the rest of my night with Mr. Corsten. Fuck, was he ever playing hard. It was unreal. It was just a shame I didn't get to see more of him. That just continues my love/hate relationship for All Access events. As much as I love having so many options with so many sounds, you are always missing so much else. Trying to leave a room that is kicking your ass with beats to go to another room that you planned on seeing before is one of the hardest things to do.

I would like to end by thanking CiRCA for making the Guv crowd not shoulder to shoulder everywhere. It was so nice having plenty of breathing room almost everywhere I went.

p.s. - it was nice meeting Shaya, Djsketchbag and *TiEsTo*SuX* (if that was you, lol)

p.p.s. - I heard from some friends that Deko-ze didn't spin in the Gallery. Does anyone know why this was?

Wow what a great weekend !!! Long weekends are always shitshows and really wear me out but after a solid 22 hours of sleep last night I am ready to reflect on how much fun I had. Got to the Guvernment around 11 and was surprised to only see about ten people in line, paid my cover and grabbed the set times and saw that Deadmau5 was already on for about 7 min so I ran full speed to the drink so that I would not miss another second of his set. Deadmau5 was defiantly off the hook for me it was like listening to all my favorite tracks for 2 hours, he played a sick remix of dark beat overall 10/10. After Deadmau5 was done I wondered off too the main room to see loco dice who were ripping it!!! smooth mixes and great track selection. After Loco I got into total wonder mode saw some of Tommie sunshine who was dropping bombs like always Ferry who was playing some classics when I was in koolhaus, AA who was tearing the gallery a new one! Back to the orange room for some scumfrog who was pretty good Sydney was rocking the gallery.... then it was time for some techno!!! This was my first time seeing Carl Cox, Ive been to parties were he was before but at that point I really wasnt as interested in techno as I am now! I have since bought a few of his cd's and I knew what to expect but what I herd was much better, I loved seeing the big guy just bouncing around in the booth yelling into the mic and I also noticed his manager on wireless head phones listening to all of Carl's mixes making sure he's not off now that's a good team. Cox's set was defiantly a chugger nice and hard track after track and I loved how he got the crowd into it all the time awesome performer!
It was great to meet some new TA's and see all the usual trouble makers, barbina is cool beans in my books it was nice to meet you.
Overall this was a great night of tunes and good friends 9.5/10 up next Lexicon Ave see you guys on the dance floor

That's right. TWO.

It was that intense

Are you kidding? Based on these reviews, coupled with the fact that Ferry played an EIGHT hour set (when was the last time one of the top headliners (other than Danny T) played longer than 4 hours?!!) the absolute minimum would have been THREE towels.

I'm already psyching myself up for Guv 12-yr Anni. NO RAMADAN AT THIS DATE NEXT YEAR!!! YESH!!!!! lol

Can't imagine all that dancing room though you guys were soooooo lucky this year!!!

Alright... well the best set of the night was definitely NOT Anthony Attela! I mean get real! You have Coxx and locodice AND Ferry and your telling me AA was the best set. LOL. Yeah yeah, everyone to their own, but give me a fucking break!

Now that I got that off my chest.... HANDS DOWN LOCODICE AND COXX owned the night for me. I was fuckig blown away when told they were going back to back. This year I wanted to hear Coxx as opposed to Ferry because I did the Ferry thing at Guv 9 year and did NOT want to miss Coxx this year.

If I can explain the guv simply..... Loco and Coxx told me a story, first playing their own personal stories and then uniting in harmony and creating a fuckin masterpiece. It was utterly beautiful. (sorry for getting so passionate....ghey...but this party deserves it)

I didn't end up even seeing Deadmau5, we had bottle service and unfortunatly had to take advantage of it.. oh well I will see him sometime.

I tried doing the kool haus but I just couldn't transition. Ferry was rocking it but all i could think about was how rediculous Coxx was givin' her in the guv.

It was a little packed during Coxx set but before and after was completely fine. So much room to dance. Loved it!

It seemed like immediatly after Coxx's set, the guv cleared out! I don't know what people were thinking when they left....the madness was just beginning!

Overall I had an amazing night... ONLY downfall... half my ladies were enjoying Ferry so we didn't get to play.
