I'm not sure if you literally mean "since 2004", or "in 2005 or later". All or Nothing was released in 2004, which was one of his most popular albums. Unhooked was 2004, and Subculture was released in May '06.

I believe he was also featured on one of the 2006 Essential Mixes.

In 2007, he didn't really do that much. Nevertheless, he's stayed active in the scene, and it's never been a requirement before for DJs to have major releases in a particular year in order to score high in the top 100. Tiesto's glacial pace certainly doesn't merit his spot (unless you consider that "in concert" garbage a "release").

Uh, Tiesto had an album release this year.

No shit. He had *an* album release. For a DJ with Tiesto's exposure, I call that glacial. No doubt he gets sent 50 new tracks every day, and could put together a new compilation every week if he wanted to.

So Tiesto averages one crummy album a year. Christopher Lawrence is roughly one every two years. Considering that most DJs get their paychecks and exposure from live sets anyway, is this really an important distinction?

Look at the top 40 charts sometime - you'll see plenty of tracks that were released more than a year ago.

He does... with his 2 hour radio show per week.

Dunno whether you can call that 'compilation', but you get what I'm saying.

Dj's are not obligated to be your friends there only obligated to play records.

Actually i'm pretty intelligent,.. i follow this scene quite closely.. there is no justifying this dude a 4th place on the dj mag chart let alone top 10..

i'm getting sick of hearing he gigs alot... he doesnt gig any more than anybody else does and he hasn't done any memorable parties since 2005..

so please.... i challenge you to enlighten me why its far fetched for you CL stalkers to think hes so deserving of top4 status on dj mag.. please please oh please.. i beg.

Obviously you are dumb.

People who start their responses with the line "I am actually pretty intelligent" set off alarm bells. They clearly fancy themselves as musical intellectuals, a cut above the regular punter - a real yawn.

"Dude", like him or not, Christopher has a tour schedule that rivals Armin or Ferry. You may not like him, but you could not deny his tour schedule you bothered to investigate it prior to making ignorant statements.

Christopher headlined his OWN ARENA at Dance Valley this year. But maybe Dance Valley doesn't qualify as memorable to you?? or maybe you've never heard of Europes biggest festival??

Stop embarrassing yourself.

Christopher Lawrence was also one of the headliners playing the main stage at Dance Valley in 2005.

His success existed well prior to his placement in last years Top 100. In fact, if I'm not wrong, he's been in the top ten before and in the top twenty for four or five years.

His history is long, and your memory is clearly short.

Please spend less time hating, and more time checking your facts.

I don't even really listen to much trance music, but I must say it reflects a pretty crummy attitude for you to be referring to anyone who defends his integrity or thinks he's a decent DJ as a "stalker".

It sounds as though you're saying that because you consider yourself so intelligent and knowledgeable about "this scene" (what scene?), anyone who disagrees with you must therefore be an idiot. I hope that's not what you're saying, but that is how it comes across. And since you're speaking on what's fundamentally a matter of opinion, you really have no business making statements like that unless you have some sort of inside information that you've been withholding from us thus far.

The only tangible facts you've tried to present (i.e. he hasn't released anything since 2004, he doesn't do more gigs than other DJs in the top 100, etc.) have all been demonstrably wrong. If you have nothing constructive to add to this discussion, then please do all of us a favour and put a lid on it.

mm only thing that matters now is that his 4th place bologni ranking was cheated/faked/scripted and wasnt the true result. /end

Posted by She_Fitz on Oct-21-2007 05:33:

Seriously....

Regardless if you like them or not no one can really believe Christopher Lawerence and DJ Dan should have been number 4 and 5.

The poll is not a matter of skill. It is a populartiy contest.. hence why PVD, Armin and Tiesto are always on top.

Any poll is a popularity contest when you let the general public vote. To the DJs, being in the top 5 could be very profitable for them....and for their manager/agent.

and they both were cleared of any responsibility
duh!

Posted by robbiej on Oct-21-2007 17:19:

right.. they were cleared of wrong doing.. thats up to each person to interpret their own opinion on who is actually guilty and isnt(doesnt matter).. what really matter now is that is their 4th/5th place rankings are gone because of it.. i will bet you they both are not top10 come next week

remember this is how they were ranked 4th and 5th.. In both their cases, a script was used to bypass our security system, said Roberston. Not only did we get multiple votes from the same IP address, but we got multiple votes from multiple IP addresses in other words, we received in excess of 50 votes from the same IP address on over 20 occasions."

i dont mean to argue back with all you peeps but im only attacking but when u attack me lol,... u just need to seriously take a look at the situation when the djmag results arent being scured and tampered with dj dan and christopher lawrence will not be top 10 and im sorry if you cant accept it all

<3 plur?

Right. Please reread your post history in this thread and try to say that again with a straight face.

And the point is that nobody actually claimed that he legitimately earned a #4 spot - simply that he's a good DJ nonetheless and is often ranked pretty high, just not in the top 10. It's you and a couple of others who have been harping on and on about how he really sucks the big one and has no accomplishments as a DJ since 2004 (or ever, according to some people).

That's the part that's incorrect. He is a very committed, hardworking, and dare I say talented DJ; he's just not as high as Armin on the popularity scale. The fact that cheating occurred is not in dispute. The fact that the DJs themselves weren't directly at fault for the cheating should not be in dispute either; it's DJ Mag's contest, and if the evidence was good enough for them, it should be good enough for you. But if you want to believe that they asked this manager to cheat for them, fine, you're entitled to your opinion.

Just don't keep saying things that are plain wrong, like he hasn't released anything since 2004. And don't fling childish insults at anyone who decides to point out that your facts are in error. If you can do that, then by all means, PLUR on.

Posted by robbiej on Oct-21-2007 21:46:

stop trolling im done talking to you..

re; disqualified

they're names were cleared by djmag which means the 'normal' voting/ranking should show up minus the 20 different ips posting 50 votes each.
