I saw Infected Mushroom in Moscow, they were screaming like mad, I think you can actually hurt your vocal cords, if you scream like them, but it was quite a performance..

Considering some dude was wearing something close to a borat swimming suit and swimming goggles instead of shades, I can see what kind of crowd listens to them lol))

ViciousMarie why don't you guys book some electro-house DJs? Steve Angello, Prydz, ARSEN, etc....these guys cater to the mass don't they?? Is it because the house room is an institution that you don't wanna touch and absolutely has to be pure gai house?
this is a serious question btw

p.s. I miss you, tu viens au Igloofest le 18?

You know I'm not in charge of bookings and there's a lot more things that matters when it comes to big events bookings. We brought those 3 at Stereo before, we love them but we have to listen to every customers (15000) and trust me, there's only a tiny part here on TA.Everybody is freeking out and it makes me laugh!Other DJS wil be confirmed, other connected events will be confirmed, just be patient a bit and maybe you'll get good surprises (for special 'connaisseurs)

Moi aussi je m'ennuie et je serai prsente le 18 et peut-tre mme avec mon onepiece, lol

See this is where I get pissed off at beb. This is like saying: ''sorry you guys who know electronic music and would like to hear some good music, we have no choice but to bring extremely mainstream DJs in the house room because our targeted audience is flaming gays and young innocent clubbers from 18 to 25 who don't give a shit about music, they just go to beb to show some skin in their brand new white outfit or to check out half naked girls from the (450) while dancing on a few songs from Guetta that they will recognize because they hangout at Millenium on the weekend ''.

you are largely underestimating your crowd. A lot more people than TAs can appreciate a more underground sound IMO.

This being said, I understand the overall ''mandate'' of beb; that the goal is to sell out and make money but don't let the real partyers down, this could hurt you in the long run...

Buddy nothing that you have said is news...

BEB wants money and they wont get it by booking of "insert any good underground dj here"

They have tested the theory of booking commerical and it seems to sell out so why change something that works, makes no sense to me..

Unfortunately we have to deal with it, or not go simple as that, I think the party is there to have a good time with your friends while listening to music you like, and to have a good party you don't specifically need amazing bookings, plus I am sure there will be at least one Dj that you could appreciate..

It is like those fags that hate the Drag Queens because of Stonewall don't you think? .. or wait, it would be like a party in Fire Island after Labour long weekend.

S&D are underground, but they are in top 10 in the world and attract a lot of people.

I knew who Sasha was about a month after i got introduced to EDM, later Digweed.

But I haven't ever heard a Sven set or Richie Hawtin for example... Now think they could do a 4000 people massive in Montreal?

Posted by Marcus007 on Jan-11-2008 06:22:

4000 ppl no way

1000 maybe

Posted by Passskal on Jan-11-2008 06:29:

Patius not sure I understand your comment but I didn't mean to offence.

The gay community should stand up and tell beb that they actually like to hear other music than the Joe le Taxi remix from Offer Nissim.

Oh...but wait a second...someone has already asked them...and the answer was a complete disaster in the ''alternator'' room with more underground, electro and minimal sound at last year's black n Blue.

Anyway that's all I wanted to say on the topic...and just like every other year I''ll go to beb, in the VIP, and end up having a good time somehow, and then go to a crazy chill to hear music I actually like until late Monday night lol.

Still hoping for a big name to finish off the night in the house though.

Allied NAtions are you coming to BEB you?

S&D underground? come on guys

Posted by Marcus007 on Jan-11-2008 06:37:

s&d is no tiesto!

tiesto is unique, lets stop comparing everyone to tiesto. still doesn't make S&D underground.

Posted by Passskal on Jan-11-2008 07:06:

you're right underground isn't the best word to describe their sound.

What I heard from them though was ''nu sound'' that doesn't cater easily to the mass. A lot of minimal techno basically.

alors ils font comment pour remplir le centre bell/palais des congrs? C'est l'oeuf et la poule. On veut un gros vnement, mais l'vnement pour tre gros doit attirer des foules, pour attirer des foules...

c'est un cycle et on est pris avec.

i think this is your problem...id rather see them in a small, packed venue then at a massive..but then again thats what im into...fuck the overground

Sasha & Digweed play minimal techno? since when?

again, it's a today vs a tomorrow mentality. You can sell less tix but make a long lasting Sasha & Digweed-like impression on patrons or sell more but leave a mostly 'fleeting' imprint.

I think we all understand the mandate of BeB.. again, it's a balancing act between keeping the underground essence alive and achieving the bottom line.. but from what many of us are saying of the lineup so far, the scale is tipping drastically the wrong way.

I'm sure we'll be repeating the same posts over the next two months, business vs underground, blah blah blah

The other hidden issue here is ticket sales.. BeB has to guarantee that they don't oversell tickets. It's not only about the ppl who don't get in but the ones who come there to dance and not play bumper cars all night. Bal would be wise to consider that aspect as well.

This BeB is going to go a long way in telling us if it's truly being run by greedy n00bs or otherwise

Tickets will not be oversell this year, let's repeat again: there was no turnover last year, no one was leaving the party and we had to deal with a new policy with the capacity vs fire departement at the same time. Bal en Blanc will prevent this situation from happening again, that's for sure.
