But Darude is a shockingly good DJ. Seriously. Go and see him. Surprises everyone!

The number of DJ's who feel compelled to respond to the lack of their appearance on this list is one of the funniest phenomena I've ever witnessed.

Even if that's true, I highly doubt that it's the reason why those who chose to vote for him did so.

Also, Fedde Le Grand is the 22nd? Based on what? For fuck's sake...

Of course, if this list is valid. Even if it isn't, DJ Mag is still a load of steaming horse shit.

Put your hands up for Detroit obviously rocketed him to new levels!

Oakenfold and Darude were on the peak of popularity around the same period of time. That popularity of the two died away at the approximately the same time as well. One user asked who still votes for Oakenfold. I responded that people still vote for Darude, meaning that if people still vote for him and his music made 6-7 years ago it is not surprising that people are still voting for Oakenfold and his '99 essential mixes and the title of "legend of trance" that critics and fans gave his around that time. Then another person said that Darude is actually a good dj. I responded to that comment saying that even if that's true - people vote for him mostly not for that reason, but for his other accomplishments circa early-2000's (meaning the immense commercial success of Sandstorm).

PS: Why did I even bother going through explaining all that? If you really think that you're THAT witty, then try a comment that doesn't deal with something as obvious and common sense as pop trance or Darude.

I did, I already confess :$

Not in #1, but, I can not help it. I just started in trance listening to his mixes a long time ago, so, I do not know, I just thank him every year

After Sandstorm peaked the whole success actually turned against him and people like you started to think him as a one hit wonder who only does Sandstorm seven times in one gig. Fact is, he's had to more or less start building his credibility from the ground up after that and prove he's something else. Sure, he might still get the dumb yanks voting for him because of something he made nearly a decade ago, but I would say the majority of votes is coming from the "real" solid fanbase he's collected since then.

Not that all of that matters seeing I was originally wondering how you managed to somehow compare Oakenfold to Darude. That just doesn't make any sense at all.

This bit I don't understand at all. You were the one talking about Darude, not me.
