So i was going to go to giant, but now i'm stuck in SF with nothing to do tonight and have resigned myself to decide at the last second. The 1015 website sez $50 presale and at the door...$0???

WHAT does this mean exactly???? I would seem like that would mean that no one gets in without presale or vip list, but i can't possibly imagine the club will be full to capacity after 2 or so...?

It means tix will be avaiable @ the door. We will not "overcharge" people but will make the final call @ the begining of the event. You still have 15 minutes to pick up presale.

Wow! Just wow! The energy last night was just amazing both upstairs and in the main room. Dirty and Vahid played some really hard hitting tracks and brought it down nicely before Dan came on. Great job you guys. I enjoyed it a lot.

Vahid, what were the name of the tracks that I asked you for? That's if you feel like sharing.

Kept bouncing around from the main room and upstairs just so I'd be able to check out a decent portion of everyone's set. I'm suprized the electro room turned into another trance room. I think that room needed that change. Ish played his style of Psy and tech. I bet it was nice for Christopher Lawerence see you in your element, huh Ish?

I'll post more later. I drank one too many drink right at 9 causing me to not stay as long as I wanted. Plus I may have ate something to cause me stomach to get upset when I started drinking. Me and Lyndsay were hurting on the right home.

we need to do this new year thing more often!

Posted by Dj Blurr on Jan-01-2008 22:40:

Man... Where do I begin...

Couldnt sleep, so I decided to post...

I been anticipating this night for some time. The sea of people in the club was amazing, and it was good to see it packed! Over the course of 2007, Saturdays at 1015 have been truly on the up, with stiff competion at other clubs, everyone I encounter always says, "1015 is still my favorite place to be on Saturday nights." With recent renovations to the club, upgrades in sound and video, and the talent thats there. Saturdays are always something to look forward to at 1015.

Its an honor to be a resident of the club, and to have helped someways in building our Saturday nights at the club. Gaining my residency this year was only step one. Ive tracked the saturdays I have been to the club over the course of 2007, and have only missed 3 weekends. Even when Im not playing im there, Im usually just there chillin or running some video or Ads on the screens. Every Saturday is another chance to meet a couple hundred or so of cool ass people, expecially TA's. Saturdays at 1015 just frickin rock. Thank you to everyone who has supported me this year, you made my first year as a resident memorable in so many ways. Getting on that nitevibe Dj Dreamteam poll was really awsome too.

Last night was also a primetime example of the power of 1015 Residents. Vahid and Dirtyhertz IMO played a amazing opening set. Definitely had the crowd going from the get go, and got everyone in the mood for the arrival of Dj Dan. Decor of the club Mimic'd San Francisco, A trolly atop where the VIP seating is above the mainroom, along side other various props around the club with SF scenery. I got to MC again on the mic, counting down NYE with a horde of screaming people, and watched as thousands of ballons that fell from the celing vanish within 15 seconds. The first shot of Kryo billowing out of the walls during Dans first high peak of his set, at 12:25AM.

Around 1:15 I went upstairs to kick it with Ishmael, and enjoyed some choice PsyTrance. I've said it before and Ill say it again, Ishmael has always been a favorite Dj I have looked up to for many years. Witnessing him at past events like Orgy, and events at other clubs and venues, I have always seen his room packed. It was no suprise to see the room packed for him last night. Great set Ish.

John Beaver followed it up with some bangin Tracks. Definitely set me up to take off with Trance proper, ending with a remix of Paul Oakenfold's Souther Sun, and Fonzerelli - Moonlight Party.

Small Technical Difficulty during the transition from John to me, but was easily fixed since I was on the same channel as the CDJS were. I proceeded to play out at 3:05AM.

I got a couple of requests from several of you before this weekend, along side some emails and encounters with some of you who wanted to hear certain tracks. I hope I came through with them, I kinda left Andreiux and his buddy dry as I was suppost to come through with Aven - All I wanna do (Ferry Corsten Remix). Sorry guys, 4:30 rolled around and Taj told me to bring it down. Ill play it though during one of my next opening sets.

This is the second time I have been up against a headliner. The first time this year was when I was booked against Infected Mushroom. Both times though, I've been successful in keeping the room packed. I actually suprised myself when I looked out to the crowd and saw so many of you there, expecially TA's. I chose mostly tracks from Anjunabeats. (Always my favotite label.) Heres some of what I played... Not everything, and not in order. Pretty much covered hits on 2007, which is what I was aiming to do, with a FEW classics. My BPM range I started from was 137.0, and built it up to 141.0. bringing it back down the last 30 minutes for Koroma the last 45 minutes, going from 141.0, to 132.0, to 130.0...

Setime 3AM-5AM
(Incomplete list)

137.0-141.0 BPM
Trance
Rank1 - Airwave (Wrongun Remix)
Oceanlab - Beautiful Together (Nitrous Oxide 2007 Remix)

P.E.G - Elite
Duderstat - Muhanjala (Solar Movement Remix)
System F - Out of the Blue (Akira Kayosa Remix)
Tiesto - Just Be (Antillas Remix)
Daniel Kandi - Nova (Original)
Jamaster A - Heart of Asia (M Sequence Remix)
Above & Beyond feat. Tranquilty Base - Buzz (Original)
Imogen Heap - Hide & Seek (Tiesto's in search of Sunrise Remix)

Breaks: 138.0
Andain - Beautiful Things (Have a Break, Have a K&D Remix)

134.0-130.0 Ending
Electro & Etc
Phil Green and Dj Tatana - 9PM (Till I come)
Depeche Mode - People are people (Jacks Ripper Remix)
Grahm & Blades - Argie Bargie
Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Yvel Tristan Remix)

Thanks to everyone for comin up or who stayed up there with me. It was a challenge playing against Christopher Lawrence. What was really cool is Chris actually made his way up to the our room during Ishmaels set, where we got to take some pics with him before he went down to play at 2:00. It was great to see him, as I havent since LF. I also hear his set was bangin.

On the way home, I looked in my rearview and saw Tommy. Rizo was passed out along side my homie Russ. Tommy couldnt stop talking about his damn nuggets. Chicken nuggets people. Tyson chicken nuggets and how he only had 8 of em, with no ketchup. I kinda wondered if Rizo even heard anything we were talkin about. The buzz from the music still ringin in our ears, and the sunrise to my left as we drove down 101.

A Big Thanks to TAJ for everything. I think we should all thank him as he has given us the best Saturdays in 07 and years before. 2008 is gonna be bangin no doubt. From playing in this years Lovefest on the float, to bookin me in front of some hot talent. Its been awsome.

A very Happy New Year to everyone. In 2008, you will definitely be seeing me. I hope to see you all again on saturdays at 1015 Folsom! Everyone I met this year seriously ROCKKS!!

New Month celebration? I stayed in last night. I did a four day weekend on a budget - couchsurfing and ride surfing. Thank you Taj, Thank you Lyndsay, Thank you Dave, Thank you Naomi. It was a good weekend and I got to see everyone one last time in 2007.

HAPPY FREAKIN NEW YEAR!

Amazing night at 1015! Probably one of my favorite nights in SF. I got soooo Hammered. I felt like crap the next day please believe that I really enjoyed spending New Years with everyone at the club. There was an awesome vibe the whole night. Blurr thank you for playing Daniel Kandi and Duderstadt. Those had to be my favorite tracks for me. Like 2tall says lets do this again next monday Taj is that ok????

Posted by MR STROKE on Jan-02-2008 05:20:

nice to go back to 1015 again(haven't been there in a couple of years)
good size crowd last night not as jamed packed as I thought it would be but still good size crowd...I was suprised to see the room more crowded @ 2:30am when CL came on vs early in the night. Dj Dan didn't really do anything for me, but CL
aside from a few sloppy mixes at the begining of his set, he was on fire, I hadn't seen him in awhile and was impressed to see him bang it out from the get go..anyone know what time the place ended up closing?

Posted by Mecca82 on Jan-02-2008 05:30:

thank you

thank you everyone for making a nite like NYE 2008 in 1015 happened!
as u all know im one crazy CL fan, i needed that nite to bring in the new year more than ever... CL set takes me back to the old spundae at circus sets by him!!! it was definitely CLs style trance very much (with a lil of some dutchies =( ) but wayyy better performance than all the times i've seen him at ruby skye.... definitely he belongs in 1015!!!

Ish, CL was diggin ur set, awesome man! he really really wanted to be there for you, guess the reason why he came early was really to go upstairs to hear you play! nice to have the mentor there with u, u must be real nervous lol... but u did it man!

i asked CL where does he wanted me to take him once we get in and he said "take me to the room ismael's playing", man thats one hell of a quote u gotta remember for the rest of your djing career!!!

thanks everyone, 2007 was great, and 08 started out JUST RIGHT!!!

Posted by rizo on Jan-02-2008 06:24:

Well done on the decor and lighting! Not sure who did the decor but much thanks to Marie, Dan and Steve on the lighting! Let the balloons go a bit too early though And that countdown was worse than last year when drunk Cyber JOe, Dirtyhertz and I trying to figure out who had the right time in the basement

Dirtyhertz & Vahid did a great job! One of my favorite opening sets of last year for sure! Up there with Memek for MP/SvD, Dirty & Taj for Corsten, Victor Dinaire and so on You two had great chemistry together! Having Roja and her sis dancing in the booth helped too

DJ Dan was really cool and remembered me from Halloween & Love Fest. Asked him when was the last time he played at 1015 and his answer was "A very long time and thats why I'm excited!" Liked his set overall and it was finally nice to catch him from start to end rather than just a few minutes. I only went upstairs for a bit during Ish, John and Blurrs sets.

ya this tops anything CL has played at RS, even Rebels NYC at least for me. Hope CL comes sooner rather than later but I would rather have astrix, wizzy noise or JF first

So I was a bit bummed cause I lost/misplaced my pocket camera (I usually take video with this) and now only have a $350 USB cable and camera case... but right when Taj got on the decks it made me forget! Taj stole the show for me once again! But I got tired way too quick and alcohol was wearing off so I passed out for a bit in the booth

Thanks again Taj, Blurr, Lexxx and everyone else! Good times overall

See everyone this Saturday for bucke!!!! Still not sure what time slot he is playing but I'm sure he can fill in any slot!

Hey Rich,
Are you gonna post the diskodave incident photos and video? lol

Posted by Bells on Jan-02-2008 09:36:

OMG the cable car above the main stage is like the coolest thing ever!!! I soo want to touch it : )

All the new decorations were freaking awesome. (well not sure about the large wedding bouquet, but surely it had important significance that everyone else understood but me : )

It would have been nice if one of the 10 twinkies kissed me at midnight, but watching them all kiss eachother is a new year's moment I won't soon forget : )

Ten15 is so my fav place to go. The security is so awesome, Taz helped me through the immense crowd a few times, Krishna and Dave especially protected me outside waiting for my ride and the one who will one day realize he so wants me. hahahaha

As always . . thanks to tajey for making it all possible.

I am so in a blowing warm fuzzies mood : )~

I can't wait to see pictures, please send me links . . anyone who has some : )

Capt's Log 1, Year 2008

The Disco Dave incident I am unfamiliar with. Apparently, there was more than one incident.

Haha, OMG! You guys are outta control. That whole group is outta freakin control! Love you guys though. Muah!

What a Sunday brunch I had with ya. Shrmmm, Shrmmmm, Shrmmmm. A first for me. I think I skipped and hopped the entire way back to the EU when Disco Dave and I left the hotel room - wishing everyone a Happy New Year along the way. I love it when whatever it inside me says, "Hug everyone in sight." Wait! I recall flying through the air for a short portion of the journey. Soaring, gliding, floating in the wind like a graceful ballet dancer. Dancing through the streets of San Francisco. My heart filled with joy, dancing through Union Square amongst the bustling congregation of beautiful people from around the World. I HAVE LIVED PEOPLE! I HAVE DANCED MY WAY THROUGH THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO! I even spider-walked it a bit.

Poor Rich probably doesn't remember half this stuff that happened. You a lucky man baby! I wish I had Rich puking in the HYATT lobby on video. LMAO! Of course this is only after we were escorted downstairs by the hotel security. I look over and Rich is kneeling next to the couch letting loss. I was like, "Alright cool, meet you guys at the End Up." Exit stage left! Kirk out! I'm laughing my ass off just writing this.

Good times, good times. I really had a great weekend you guys. Thank you and Happy New Year to everyone. Gilbert! Where's my damn hat and why are there hella heads stuffed in it on camera! That's my freakin hat man.....Not your damn prop! Cool hat huh! Warm as hell too. I got kinda stuck out in SF on Friday. Woke up Friday morning, went and saw Juno with Frankie and Naomi, correction - I slept in the theater while Frankie and Naomi watched Juno. Anyways, by the time we got out it was already like three o'clock and I didn't want to take BART all the way back to Fremont and turn around and come right back out. So, I decided to stay in the city. I didn' have anyone's number. Walked around San Francisco by myself forever it seemed. A new shirt, new shoes, and a fantastic new, warm hat was all I had to show for it. Man, I was in Butter at like 7:30pm. Seven Thirty PM! Dog ass tired too. I ordered a $3 Pabst and curled up in the corner - that beautiful new hat keeping me warm and comforting me. My new hat. How I loved it so. I remember I placed that glorious hat upon the head of my fair maiden Venessa. My maiden wore it proudly up until the time it was deceitfully pilfered by the trecherous bandit, Rizo. It is now my mission in life to track down that hat and return it to the head of my maiden.

I must begin by tracking down this tall nerdy fella who somehow came into possession of the hat.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
