Dum-Dum, professionalism is when you do NOT say half the shit orbiting in your mind and pick proper responses for example when somebody offered you a gig and you feel like declining for whatever reasons.

I also find it really naive of you to point out the fact Mau5 brought in some cronies to help him out, when you have at least two people in this thread doing the same thing.

Please, both of you take into account the way Jason Jollins posts. It would help you both in the long run.

in order for his statement to be defamatory, it would have to be false or misleading. If what he is saying is true, then fuck it, he should say it. Who cares if this is a forum? If the guy is a douche, which it fully appears that he is from his TO rally cries, then he deserves it.

Eco would be disqualified because I would storm in from the dressing room w/ a metal chair or hollywood's championship belt and bash mau5 in the dome piece as mean gene okerlund screams "OH GOD NO! NO!!!!!" in the background

That being said, I love deadmau5's productions - leave the forum drama alone and spin tracks and everyone will be happy

Since when is honestly posting your opinion on why you wouldn't see someone defaming?

This all reminds me of George Acosta's manager calling me to threaten to sue me for "defamation". I said it then and I'll say it now. Public forum = Public opinions. You'll hear it from ppl on this site weather you're a dj or you got a cock chopped by your mouth.

If you can't take the heat on this board.. then get the fuk out. Seriously. Have a lighter outlook on life.

A few ppl on a messageboard does not equal an entire club.

Eco is going to rally up a bunch of ppl with picket signs outside of Pacha.

Gimme a break.

Also, coming in talking shit about Eco when he did the same exact thing in his "local" section is lame and one sided.

I guess being buddy buddy with a dj is "cool". I'm sure you're one of those kiss ass' that will run to mouse and be like "oh they are just jealous of you".

It's a fuking forum... on the Internet... He took something over the internet serious?? roffle waffles!

yea but you know what this whole its only the internet excuse is getting very lame and the "it is just a message board" excuse is tired. Regardless of its a messageboard or not, its still YOU who are typing these thoughts.

this "its just a message board" is a cop out for people who dont want to fess up to what they say, or to people who somehow think this is a fantasy land where your typed words don't mean the same as spoken ones.

Im not going to get into the business side of things in this thread because i know this industry all to well and bottom line is that you never know who you will be working with down the road. Yes i'm known to bust balls with other promoters/ DJs but they know i'm joking around and they know my personality. But I seen alot of promoters and DJs have ill feelings towards each cause of something that was said to the on a message board that is available for the public to read, unless its on DTOURISM.com

Posted by Sunshine79 on Dec-13-2007 14:42:

Ok, I haven't read this whole thread but it looks like there might be some of the usual descent... so please note that my post is in response to the title of the thread.

Deadmau5 is, in my humble opinion, an awesome producer/remixer. He is def one of my favorites at the moment and I'm looking forward to seeing him at pacha. I hate pacha and I rarely go out anymore, but I think Deadmau5 is someone I will crawl out of my hole for.

Nice to see some new & different talent in NYC.

I really do think "it's just a messageboard" is not the same as real life.

Man like 3+ years ago when the whole FL / Southeast section was ONE REGIONAL SECTION.. I got into sooooooooooo many fights with the ATLTA's. They came to WMC and some of us FLTA's went up there to party and hang.. and it was like nothing happened.

So gimme a break. When you are in the spotlight.. this is part of the territory. ESPECIALLY ON TRANCEADDICT! A site that is known to make a simple thread turn into 40+ pages because a DJ decides to come in and defend himself. I already gave 3 examples that I remember in TOTA which were all a long time ago, but it is still talked about to this day!

So, boys and girls, moral of the story is: there's a reason well-known DJ's don't post on forums much except for the occasional innocuous "hi," and it's because of shit that comes up in threads like this.
Deadmau5, hope you learned a lesson: learn to curb your forum fights = keep your credibility. Doesn't matter who's right or wrong at this point, because going on like this in an entire thread made you sound extremely unprofessional.....

I think unprofessional wouldn't matter to a guy who talks about 'fk bees' no one knows what kind of inside joke that is between him & his brain, but he felt the need to share that just randomly. he already made a bad impression when he denied his actions and then was forced to own up. I do like some of his trax but now this thread has made me realize it's not worth the trek to go support a guy who talks about 'fk bees' is shady, egotistical etc and doesn't have a good attitude towards the US in general! although he's not as bad as another idiot on this board who attributes new meaning to the word 'stupid'.
making nice music is all good but people like to cheer on a dj and support him because they like him too..and what's with this 'rockstar' bit? talk about ego ) your trax are being caned a lot right now so enjoy your 5 minutes like james holden did when he was the hot new sound.
anyway, some peace on this thread is necessary
hapy hols, all! so much for peace on earth

oh you mean Jason's newest thread regarding
*&^*%$%%^*_(*&^%!!!! ..... and Cats?
Oh yes very educational, and inspiring thread, and oh so professional!!

Deadmau5 does make some DECENT tunes, but this display made me loose any potential respect I would have had for him. He doesn't even sound like he is old enough to GET INTO Pacha
His management really should have stepped in sooner and told him to STFU.

I think this thread needs to die asap.

I know for a fact that people I personally know and trust have had poor encounters with him, but I also have a couple friends that I know and trust that like the guy.

Do I think the personal bizniz shoulda been put out to air on a forum? no. I think it looks bad but I also understand the promoters frustrations, especially after the excuses and retaliation. At this point I think you both just need to stop posting.

Eco, people trust your word and know you had a difficult time with him, so there is little need to defend yourself. You are a good guy and we ALL know that. Besides, any man who brings me preach is coming to my wedding someday!! haha!

To Mau5, I think the spread of the threads to another forum looked bad on your part as well. who cares if you pissed someone off? Have you never doen so before? its business for godsake, people are always pissing each other off. are you ever gonna work with each other again? highly doubtful. Eco will continue to book good talent, and people will continue to love your tracks, so instead of both looking unprofessional and making it worse, why dont you just agree to disagree, and agree to shut up about it?

Well-said Kelly... There were several points throughout this convo that EITHER of us could have ended it at, it was a two-way street, and I apologize for not at least doing MY part to end it when it was my turn to. Not to come to his aid, but if you're a fan of Deadmau5, I think it's smarter to not post this on every board you belong to. As you can see on Rhythmism, I think you're doing more harm to him than good. With that being said, that's enough for me in any of these related threads about this incident. At the end of the day, this won't even touch the fact that he's one of the highest selling artists right now, and I don't think too many people will boycott us and our parties in the future cos of this now. And if you are, then fair enough, nothing I can do about that.

He's an entertainer. Talk to the people in the thread and I'm sure he did his job quite well.

On another note, I dont know how one guy can bust another guy's balls, on a forum no less, because the guy chooses to abide by the law and not risk being barred from playing here...

Edit: I dont know the story either, but the TA drama is pretty funny...

+ 1, Its all about the music, TA should have its own reality show..makes for good laughs...I cant wait to see him
