Yes the badge gets you into Ultra. I dont think the badge is woth it though at all since most it gets you into is free haha. And the IDMA is bullshit wannabe TMF awards. Has no rep at all as awards.

A c-note?

At any point in time, even if it's only 5 min prior to gates opening, are the set times posted for the acts?

Or do u have have to enter and pick up a booklet for that info, strictly.

Posted by element-y on Jan-30-2008 02:47:

Need to enter. It sucks i know. Unless you get get a tiny pamphlet things that opens up to be the map - which is given inside.

Posted by Dj onE on Jan-31-2008 05:24:

First Timer

What time do your recommend getting there? Are the lines to get in insane?

Posted by epdarks on Jan-31-2008 05:26:

Have your ticket in hand when you go in. Do not will call! My buddies waited 2 hours at will call a couple of years ago. Get there early but not too early... I'd say 2 or 3 would be ideal.

Please some 1 post when they receive there txt in the mail ?

Wow! I still can't believe that Underworld is one of the headliners for Day 2 of Ultra! I was going to skip Ultra until I saw the updated line up. Underworld has not performed at Ultra since 2003. I was supposed to come down to Miami for WMC '03 but plans fell through. I've been dying to see Underworld for ages. This is really awesome...Day 2 is going to rock!

P.S. The fact that Ferry Corsten, Sander van Doorn, and Second Sun are also part of the line up makes Day 2 too good to pass up!

anyone have the underworld new cd or dvd? would love to hear some of it before seeing them and cant find much on the dvd by torrent

I've never been to ultra and I'll be there this year from Belgium !!
I was wondering how long the dj's play in the main stage (2hours?) ?

Posted by element-y on Feb-03-2008 20:30:

The headliners play around a 90 minute set. On average a set is 45 minutes i think.

No.

I have not been there since 2005. To my recollection, on the main stage PVD always plays 2 hours. Most everyone else plays 1 to 1.5 hours max. I would expect Tiesto to play 2 hours on Friday, and they may have AVB play 2 hours Saturday also. Everyone else should be less.

Posted by DiegoParra32 on Feb-03-2008 20:38:

looks like i will be going to day 1 after all. Cox doesn't seem to be playing anywhere else and I probably will not be catching the minus party so i'll catch hawtin at the Carl Cox tent as well. Going to see if I can Zabiela and maybe lawler as well.

Posted by element-y on Feb-03-2008 20:39:

Carl Cox said he will be doing a live thing one of the days. But so far nothing on that if that will be happening or not.

Also, it would be sweet if Armin played 2 hours but i doubt it because of the number of acts on mainstage that night and how he has armada night afterwards.

Posted by DiegoParra32 on Feb-03-2008 23:43:

i kinda hope cox doesn't do anything out of the oridinary. i just want to hear him throw down. if anything my guess would be that he does that day 1.

He's playing a 'classics' set on Friday and I'm almost positive that he'll play his traditional 3-hour set on Saturday to close out his tent.

Posted by DiegoParra32 on Feb-04-2008 00:03:

classic as in banging 138bpm live from crobar type techno? cuz that'd be fucking class.

Posted by thecreator on Feb-04-2008 02:05:

Ok but I saw one with four or five more Dj's I only say this because I want to see Dynamix II. Its going to be a great Friday(Besttigen Sie mates in der After-Party)

Posted by element-y on Feb-04-2008 02:32:

Maybe the live thing will be the classics set. I know he said he will have a drummer. Who knows.

looking forward to be at Ultra again
3 years ago my first WMC and Ultra experience. So great to be at a massive party outside Holland and experience the festival and the amazing crowd.

Line-up is awesome this year and can't wait to see Tiesto, Armin, PvD and especially UNDERWORLD LIVE!!!

They played last week in Amsterdam, but was not able to go

So I'm definitely looking forward to see them!!!!!

Just bought my tickets!!!!!!! I am a first timer of 19 years of age, what should I expect ? I AM SUUUPPPPER EXCITED YES !

Posted by element-y on Feb-08-2008 03:56:

Honestly, i would delete the post you made asking about what to expect. I find that when you have no idea what to expect you enjoy it a whole lot more. By asking, you will simply get anothers opinion and might in the end impact your own.

But from last year - rain was an issue. So overall the festival that could have been great was harder to enjoy. Yea, youll have some saying it was fun to be in the rain and what not.. but overall it really wasnt haha. It rained real hard and the crowds were a mess in the tents.

But music aside, the festival is set up like a festival. The park is large (i prefer bayfront), there is a bunch of food (though for the most part it repeats itself). The prices for Ultra merchandise is ridiculous but hard to find out of the event. Lines arnt bad till around 4. After 4 its a bitch. Most of the people show up later during the event around 7.

Cant think of anything else i can say that is unbiased. I have attended this event many times and would change things, but in the end its all and all a great time if festivals are your thing (they are mine ;-) Many genres there with people from all around the world. Go with no expectations and you will leave with an event that beat your expectations haha.

Expect to have a BLAST!!!!

Okay folks listen up... Especially the new TA's going to Ultra for the 1st time.

If you are going w/ will call get to the evnt at least by 930 or so. If you decide to get there around opening time you'll be in line for at least a few hours. The last time I went to Ultra I picked up my tix around 930 w/o any wait at all. Went back to the hotel & came back when we were ready to go.

Do not try to bring any big bottle of fluids (ex: water/juice/or any large container)under your arms or carrying loosely cuz they will take it away from u at the gate.
You may be able to get away with a back pack but be smart in stashing small things in it. If anything place a black shirt or towel on top of the things you wanna sneak in. making the shirt as the bottom of the back pack/purse or bag you are taking.

Fellas:
If you wanna sneak in a bottle I suggest bring lose Jean shorts & stuff it on the back inside of your jeans w/ tightening up the ur belt to keep the bottle in place. Reason being when they pat you down they pat your pockets & not your backside. If they find it worse thing is they will tell you to toss. If they don;t find it you have plenty to enjoy.
It can be done cuz I sneaked in to Ultra HUGE bottle of water one year w/ liquor & the other year w/ water. I've even snuck in a lg Fat Tuesday drink in one pocket.

If you go super early chance are you will get patted down. Later on say around 4 or 5 not so much. Just watch & be selective which line you take. Alot of times the they have young kids doing the pat downs.

Just a few things to help w/ Ultra adventure.

Just curious if anyone remembers how they handle tickets purchased from one of the local stores (as opposed to ordering online). Do they still charge the same order/handling fees (making it $170+ a ticket)? Or do they just charge the ticket price ($129)?

Also, does anyone know about when they are made available to purchase at those stores? Seems like the only way to get tickets now are online.

The only store in NYC that sold these tickets in previous years has closed, so just trying to see where else we might be able to get tickets.

Thanks for any info you guys can provide.

Posted by element-y on Feb-08-2008 17:21:

Sorry i cant answer your question there. I would assume some fees apply. Dont know.

With booze though - pull a connan o brian and buy those bad ass pocket pouch things. When they pat you down they will never be able to feel that even if it is in your pockets haha. Yea it doesnt hold much but you can easily stack a few of those. Cant really share them with anyone since they are small, but yea just wanted to post this seeing the thing i beleive two nights ago or so on the show.
