Going through some of those again years later I can understand why some DJs/producers stayed away from TA. I suppose it's "better" for them now as they're insulated by fans on social media who will downvote/attack any negative comments that are unwarranted ...but there is also a rawness that is missing from the discussion of music these days.

It's not much better today at various other Trance forums and chat boards.
People love trolling DJ's/Producers when they join in for some reason.

I released an EP on Lost Language earlier this year and had some guy trying to tell me what genre one of my tracks was. Apparently I have no idea what genre my own music is...
Not to mention poor MurZo who posted his latest FSOE release over on Trancefix only for the thread to turn into a 4 page argument over the copy & paste format of modern uplifting 'steroid' trance

On the other hand, through my experience with TA, I've learned that Darude is just as awesome as his music, and I'm grateful that the world is a wee bit better thanks to them.

I wish I could find the thread I posted where he was a really good sport. It was back when I posted a playful thread about my excitement to see him and I mocked my own excitement and love of cheesy music. Much to my surprise, upon returning home, I discovered that Darude had actually shared the entire tracklist of his set in Brasilia in response to a humorous comment from a Portuguese TA member who jokingly asked for the tracklist or suggested silence (immortalised by the words "tracklist or STFU"). It had slipped my mind that he was a TA, and he was a damn good one at that.

Nothing but props and kiitos to the guy, the set he played here was pretty fun too.

As for this thread, wow, PvD and ATB had beef? Having deep dove into both their discographies now, and concluding they're more alike than you'd expect, that's so funny to me.

/DJMag voters sure seem to think so, the two almost always side-by-side in their poll's ranking
