Yeah...i hear ya. I must admit though it sounds at times a little bit polished up and at other times a tad tryhard...I may give that one a miss.
Have you ever listend to Hydrophonic's 'Aquabatics'? Tell me what you think? Came out on Nano in 2004...

I have a copy of it.

It's one of my favourite albums, the range of work is amazing.

Rather than just 9 psy bangers and then some ambient thing at the end like most albums, Aquabatics features a diverse range of tracks, using really clever ideas, such as drum and bass laid over the top of a psy-esque bass line. If you don't have a copy of this, get one!

Good on ya Nick - that's me boy! I am about to put in a small order with Psyshop and this one is gonna be def on the list...
Come to Voice Of Cod on Saturday - secret tip!

Nano Records has just signed a new artist, Avalon.

Knowing their standards, his album in 2009 will be one to watch.

Ace Ventura - Spark

Seems like someone gave the old boy a lesson on bass lines!

SPECIAL DELIVERY!

I fuckin' lurve mail days...

1 * Compilation: Surya Namaha [Namaha Records 1CD]
1 * Panick: Lab-O-Matic [Neurobiotics 1CD]
1 * Compilation: Overmind [Veleno Music 1CD]

Also, I came very very close to buying Odiseo - 10 Years After, but decided against it. Now that the rest has arrived, I'm regretting it.

Might have to place another order today anyway; I can't resist the new Wizzy Noise album.

Also, just reading mushroom magazine that comes with the psyshop orders, there is a great interview with Simon Posford.

Your solo project: Hallucinogen. Is there ever going to be another album?

There will be anoother album...when I made the first two albums I was much younger and more of a control freak and did not necessarily want other people involved. I enjoyed making music on my own, whearas now I enjoy the chemistry of working with someone else...However, after a few years of doing that, now I swing the other way. Firstly because I feel there is a gap in the market, all the trance music that is coming out lately sounds very similar to me. I have only ever made music to excite myself and I think I am now ready to go back to Hallucinogen.

Fuck yes!

I thought a J00F fan boy like you would be all over Wizzy Noise like a rash!

Posted by Philby on Sep-08-2008 09:00:

haha yeah strange huh i just dont like that style of synth they use for the main melodies, kinda like a distorted guitar or something, i dont really know how to describe it better. since j00f loves em so much he plays their stuff all the time and it makes it worse for me haha. incidentally though i like their bootlegs a lot, their remix of o'fortuna, masters of the universe and the cydonia one are mad imo. a few tracks on this album i reckon are pretty good, but i just cant get into their style. last couple of times j00f has been here i told him less wizzy noise, more human blue/00db/whatever else i loved at the time hehe

Maor Levi released a new track for free 2 months ago. It's psy, which was surprising from him.

See here to download:

Blergh.

Didn't enjoy any of these three. There's $100 down the drain. I think I need to listen to samples more carefully before I buy...

wtf??
that's almost as bone-headed as desean jackson in the nfl the other night.
if you are really unsure, just leech the whole album from somewhere first, then delete if its crap or you gonna buy the cd.

Can anybody recommend some tech-psy-prog-ish tracks, esp. those which have emphasis on tech-percussion?

Prehaps something similar in the style of Shanti's "In The Wormhole" and "Kosher Beats" ?

The Iboga label has heaps of prog psy. Also try Blue Tunes, Plusquam, Shuilink Records, Iono Music and Tribal Vision Records.

Spend a lot of time looking dude, there's some great shit sitting amongst a whole pile of average so be patient

Can't go past Shivlink Records for this.

They are massively blurring the line between tech-house and psy (strange combination!), though not all their releases run along these lines; they do full-on and Goa too.

Checkout Blackout - Wave Force in particular.

Prosper? eek the markus schulz of psy?!?!
